Has anyone else noticed that the Start a Fire album on Spotify has a bunch of random music instead of BP's actual songs? Like, one is some Jrock song one is a trot song.....like....I don't even know what's going on. It was never like this before.

Tbh Korea seems like the better option for her, at least she has a sizable following.
Her following is pretty much entirely made up of international (western) fans.
No shade to her, but she can't even speak Korean fluently...she doesn't have a chance of landing anything big without overcoming that major obstacle first.
I still think focusing on a career in the west would be better, and less stressful, for her.

Alex needs to just stay away from Korea. She doesn't speak the language and the culture in general is just unfavourable for someone like her.
She gained thousands of fans from her RaNia experience, and she should use that to put out her own music (or form an American girl group) and live her dream that way. She's already got a management company, all she really needs to do it get signed and she'd be good to go. Even if she doesn't make it big, she's still got a loyal fanbase that will support her regardless.
As for the other girls..........I don't know what to think.
I refuse to support the group any longer and hope that they're able to find success elsewhere after their contracts expire. DRM is pure trash.
This entire ordeal is just appalling..-

Why has nobody raged at the fact that DRM is offering its future
Yina punching bagsKoreboo trainees language classes but didn't bother with any of that for Alex? I think of all things I read from this nightmare of a news update, that pisses me off the most.
Had they have done that from the jump, the Demonstrate era probably would've fared better. Hell, Alex would've been a pretty competent Korean speaker by now and definitely would be doing more than just rapping in English.
As for DTX, they're doing photoshoots still. The same ones, if their IG uploads are anything to go by. So it looks like they're at least signed to the same agency, or something. If DTX + Jooyi and Sharon happened, I would DIE!
-
I can't wait until they add 3-4 Koreaboos to the group, Yina's going to have SO much material to react to!
On a serious note: UGH.-

Ugh, just when I was becoming such a happy lurker..
DR needs to get a grip and Alex needs to shut up.
Their affairs need to be handled privately, with just the right amount of info being relayed to A1STs so we know what our group is up to.
I do think Alex is great and brings a hell of a lot to the table, but I get annoyed with how she seems to use unprofessional and immature delete-a-tweets to rile up fans to feed her with attention. Like, why does she constantly need to have people feeling bad for her and telling her she's a "queen" and shoving other excessive compliments down her throat? She doesn't even speak up when her actions prompt her moronic stans to attack the group and/or its members, she just sits there and likes all the tweets of people praising her.
Like, obviously DR is crap and has NOT handled her inclusion like they should have. This HAS to be hard on her, for real.
But let's not pretend like she hasn't benefited from becoming a part of RaNia. Even if she left the group, she now has her own fanbase (that will only continue to grow here in the west) to support her projects, whereas before she was pretty much a nobody. Out of all the members, she's the only one who honestly has nothing to lose whether the group succeeds or not. But for girls like Yina and Jieun, this is probably their last chance at making their dreams come true.
Every time Alex drama pops up, I get so worried because the western fanbase is basically the group's life support at this point and you guys know that aside from the people in this thread and those like-minded, pretty much all other "fans" would drop the group the instant she left........
A1STs are forced to be more like a group of catty managers than a squad of fans, and it's hard! I'm honestly kind of over it..
We're literally the only fandom that has to do the work (be it promotion, communication etc.) for our group instead of sitting back and throwing money at them for glorious entertainment.-

Honestly visa issues don't make sense at this point, even if she has a temp. Not when they're mid-promotion and DR would know exactly when her visa expired. And the bad thing is if it did lapse then it's all on Alex cause DR wouldn't be in charge of maintaining her temp visa (non-sponsored).
I think -hope- it's just a mistranslation.
Careful, spreading common sense will trigger the Alex stans into thinking you're going in for a personal attack.
Really, though, these visa issues are going to keep setting the group back since they can't promote sans Alex without a shitstorm of negativity starting up.
But I'm going to stay optimistic this time. The girls are finally on the right path, so despite this, I'm hoping things only get better from here. They totally deserve it.

Why are people blaming DR? It's Alex's visa.
She needs to get her stuff together, because whatever type of visa she's got is clearly not fitting for what her job requires of her. Not to mention is shows a worrying lack of commitment if returning the US every 3 months is what she wants.
Though, who knows, maybe she won't stay so long this time? If she's at least back in time for their Spanish showcase(is that even still happening..?)then it won't be too big of a deal.
But it sucks that MMA promotions weren't longer, which is all DR's fault. If SAF had it together as well as MMA did, this comeback cycle would've been their big moment, without a doubt.-

I'm not saying that she was or wasnt acting like a bitch or that she can't be criticized for that.
I'm just saying that "oh she acted bad" is being turned into other past issues (with her learning Korean, forcing Rania to deal with her in English, etc) when there is no evidence of the ilk.
I understand, and totally agree.
It doesn't help that people here love to perpetuate things and pretend like there's drama when there isn't. A person can make an observation without it being an attack, but god forbid anybody not have a reason to get extra up in here..
Agree with the top part but girl/dude where have you been not noticing Goddess Yina?? She's never been a strong vocalist but I think she was the lead or main dancer during the first line up and she's really captivating during performances. I love your profile gif btw, I miss Di :(
I don't know! I just never really cared for her, she always faded into the background for me.. But damn, she's really letting us know who's the Queen of this group now!
Thanks, I miss Di, too.. I hope DTX aren't done as idols..
Oh, and I'm a she by the way!

straight up tho half the mess is cause people won't let someone say their own opinions without going off on them and totally missing the point of the argument they were trying to make. is there a RaNiA thread where people can express their worries and opinions without being labeled anti-X just cause not everyone agrees with them?
YEP. Exactly this.
----
UM I NEED YINA'S COAT LIKE IMMEDIATELY.
But, girl, she can keep them spider lashes tho..lmao

I wasn't talking to anyone specific. From what I've seen in this thread when something happens involving Alex, her race is always coming up like it's a sin to be a westerner. I don't see race being a big deal when someone who's Japanese, Chinese etc... joins a Kpop group.
oh wow I completely scrolled to the end and missed that part but now I see what's everyone talking about. She acted like a real B, if she was changing she could just have said so and not snapped at Hyeme like that wtf
Really??
This thread has been extremely supportive of Alex, and to be quite honest; if it wasn't for various members here raising awareness on multiple fronts, the MMA promotions wouldn't be going as well as they are.
I don't think I've really seen anyone here bring up her race as a negative, either....
However, questioning her apparent lack of Korean skills is totally valid. I don't think it's putting her down for being a westerner, but moreso just wanting her to be better prepared (for her own sake).
It feels like people are letting this incident be their gateway to air their overall grievances with Alex.
Do you. Get what you really feel out in the open. Go ahead.
Is it fair? Probably not but oh well
Hm. Not sure what you're trying to get at, but...
For me, like I said, her attitude just rubbed me the wrong way. There's nothing else to it, I don't have "grievances" with Alex.
If someone's acting like a bitch, how is it "not fair" to point it out? It's not a big deal. Maybe she should've just handled herself better so we wouldn't have that awkward moment to discuss? lol

Weird, because she had a shirt on..
Pretty sure Hyeme has enough common sense not to drop in on a half-naked friend while live streaming. Plus, we saw Alex primping her hair and Hyeme asked if her makeup was finished, so no, she wasn't changing.
Regardless, it was pretty rude of Alex to act so dismissively.
But I digress. Like ladydee, it just rubbed me the wrong way.
On an unrelated note, Yina is really slaying these MMA stages. I'm really surprised because she was always my least favourite member back in the original lineup, and now she's coming for my top 3!

Ziu didn't sing the high note live
I am doubting her stability live but she sounds good on the record
Girl, it's not like she could possibly be worse than Jieun. lmao

Okay. Now THIS feels like the RaNia we know and love!
So sexy, and the vocals were good. Like, why wasn't Zi.U doing the high note in Start A Fire? She killed it here!
It's a shame they wasted so much promotion time on being messy with SAF.
But THANK EVERYTHING that DR finally got their shit together. If they keep up the momentum, BP Rania will actually be able to succeed!-

If Alex is indeed on UPR4, she's going to be eaten alive.
I mean, look at how pathetically lost she is during all of Rania's interviews, v apps, etc., she's going to turn into a walking joke....which could seriously hurt the group.
So, I for one, hope that she's spared from this and isn't part of UPR. She's just not ready yet.-

Are we responsible for making the badges ourselves?
'Cause whenever we get to vote on them, I'd like to whip some up. -
UHM.
Did DR not only release an actual statement, but one that was positive and non-messy!? I'm shook!
Guess that cunty choreographer is out of a job.. LMAO

Jubilee cosplay on point.

So weird...
I have Hyeme, Youmin, and Alex's fur coats from the first performance that they wore the jacket outfits in, and now Alex is wearing another fur coat that I own.... lmao -
INGENIO knows about Candy, right? We need to get them to talk to DRM about blocking her on all fronts.
Also, does anybody know that the dance in the My Neighbour Charles episode was for? At that time, Make Me Ah was still going to be their next single, right?INGENIO knows about Candy, right? We need to get them to talk to DRM about blocking her on all fronts.

I agree on everything
It's too bad not everyone shares this type of common sense.
I'm still baffled that someone really thought getting a site to write a massively negative article about a group would be good for them.
..As the pages worth of freak-outs show, it was an act of pure dipshittery.
Hopefully no other A1st acts that recklessly (and moronically) again, because right now, our fandom is doing more damage to the group than DRM's shady tactics are.
Instead of leaving hate for DR/the choreographer on social media, we should be sending the girls our love and support. Not just to Alex, either. The issue affects the other members just as harshly, because if the group shatters, Alex is just gonna redebut in the US with her newly accumulated KPop fanbase. While the other girls will be left scrambling to find a new agency, which we all know won't be easy...if they even decide to remain together.
So, yeah. I totally agree on the suggestion that we lay low for a bit and chill out.
The ball is in DR's court right now, anyway. Hopefully they don't drop it..

Telling AKP about the issue and effectively prompting them to write a very one-sided article that paints an already controversial member as a villain was probably one of the most damaging things you could've done, D'Arco...
Like, honestly.
Feeding rumour-mill drama to a news site in order to "promote" a group is on CookieCrisp/whateverthefuckshecallsherselfthesedays levels of counterproductive stupidity.-

Basically, the choreographer is turning Korean fans against Alex by spouting unprofessional bullshit.
This is the same bitch from Alex's My Neighbour Charles episode who was giving her shit for no reason, didn't have the patience to bother trying to talk to her through the language barrier and just up and told T-ae to teach her the dance instead.

I'm not even a choreographer and even I know that 7 people is much better for formations than 6. When you have an odd number, someone is always in the middle, which is great for a group because it allows the person singing the lines to be the focus.
..Unless you're Jooyi.

A friend of mine suggested that maybe it's time we try to contact some popular Kpop YouTubers about this issue.
I mean, they can reach a bigger audience than we on the forum can...-

My opinion don't mean shit but I think this lineup has a better chance of success than their predecessors. Everyone keeps shitting on this lineup because "they're not as talented as the old members" but if there is one thing I have learned, is that talent alone doesn't equal to fame (and it's not like BP doesn't have a good mix of vocals, dance and looks).
The original team was amazing, no doubt about it, but, they lacked that "spark" that just effortlessly grabs you in. I guess in a sense you can say they were pretty boring. I could listen to them all day, and stare at pictorials lol, but I couldn't imagine watching a variety show with, let's say, just DTX.
Now compare that to SHA, and we'd all tune in. Why? Because they're fun, their bright, they engage. I won't even call it bias, because the truth is, is that BP is so much more approachable and open than the original team ever was. Which is why they have garnered so many fans. Like, I haven't met one A1ST who didn't like Seulji; that girl was made to be loved.
Looking at Saem now, it's such a big difference in how she is with this team. Saem was always a bit reserved but she looks like she is legitimately having fun now even if she thinks Jieun can't hit notes. And the new members are also getting good reception. Even with the Alex Stans +A1St situation, no one is bashing or dragging a member to bolster their own. I have never been in a fandom where that didn't happen. You have your bias but you're okay with all 7 of the members and once given the opportunity to get to know them more, they will have a dedicated legion.
Also, I fucking love this fandom, you people are awesome.
tldr; I'm going to marry ASRaNia, I think.
Hmm, I don't agree.
The original lineup never really got any chances to showcase their personalities much, let's be honest. We barely know their personalities because DR kept taking them overseas which killed any chances they had to be on variety shows, and social media was not as big back then, so there were no Insta vids, V app broadcasts, etc.
DTX may have seemed less lively than this bunch (which I don't really think, but..), however look at Yina. People are always commenting on how awkward/distant/reserved she looks compared to the other, more bouncy girls.
This is probably because she knows damn well that DR rins a complete shit show, and after years of wasted opportunity, I'm sure it must have been hard for DTX to remain vivacious during their time in the group.
That being said, this lineup....isn't going to last.
Alex won't stay forever. And without her, most new fans won't care enough to stick around, which leaves a handful of us supporting a group of...sorry to say it...subpar artists.
They need more training, and DR needs to pay more attention to their individual needs.
Ttabo needs to be the centre of all dance-heavy parts of the choreo to show off her charisma.
Yumin is incredibly photogenic and needs to be focused on as visual appeal.
Jieun's voice is way too flat, like Yina's, to be doing high notes. Both girls should be given opportunities to simply harmonise (like Lime
aka THE QUEENand Nara in Hellovenus).Zi.U should be hitting the high notes, as her voice is heavy and strong. It packs a similar punch to Xia's, and if honed, could be just as good.
Hyeme needs lines that actually suit her deep, husky voice.
Alex....just needs to be featured in the same capacity as the other members. I mean, she writes their damn songs, so she should be able to freaking dance along to them in full!
But, yeah. I don't see them being more successful unless DR smartens up..

Yep.
They just used different recording takes (or mixed the preexisting vocals) of the former members and pretended it was the new members singing.....so sleazy. I'm pretty sure all backing vocals are from the original songs, too.
I honestly can't watch a performance of Ttabo mouthing Alex's rap lines or watching a sub-par vocalist lipsync to Jooyi's belts, it's way too cringy.
I mean, I guess I'm gad that DR kind of tried to give us what we asked for, but.....ugh.
