The government asked ALL the people who were in Itaewon since APRIL 24th to self isolate so I don't know where that " they were not on the timeframe "comes from . They were there before the outbreak was DECLARED but the outbreak was already happening on APRIL 24th which is why they should have isolated when the governement confirmed there was an outbreak on May 6th. And that whole "didn't have direct contact with confirmed cases"is bs. There's no way to know that since they literally couldn't even test everyone that was at the gay club(where the main outbreak happened) because thousands of people are in fear of being outed. Let alone the fact that a lot of the confirmed cases went bar hopping with some visiting more than 9 bars the day of the outbreak. So as the government isn't able to hunt everyone down, they said that people should isolate for 14 days EVEN after testing negative because they can test positive later. So i don't know which mental gymnastics you're trying to do , or the fact that you're using the whole "they just get hate because they're celebrities as an argument" well DUH celebrities get more hate than your average person for the simple reason that they're well known. Nobody knows about Joe who went clubbing too. I'm not saying those idols deserve a lot of hate. But seeing people defend shit like that is socially tone deaf.

The problem was never that they went out, but that they didn't self quarantine after the government asked ALL people who were in Itaewon to isolate after Itaewon was confirmed as a source of the outbreak on May 6th.
