Who?

Hi! Don't have much time lately, but I'm still enjoying this comeback very much! Let me write some things down, cause I have too many feelings to keep it inside. Some screaming, some complaining, a lot of fangirling: Songs: Lie - Sad song that is not really sad. Really catchy chorus. Instrumental is keeping it all interesting, the 'woah, woah' during the chorus feels a bit misplaced, but other than that no complaints. Help Me: Larger than life, epic, dramatic. First and last 10 seconds are so good, and that instrumental! Aron's saesang part, Ren right after him, Baekho's bridge, it's all so beautiful. I had a bit of a trouble with JR's parts in the chorus. I even thought they were a bit autotuned or something, because they sounded so weird. I got used to them now, but still they're not really my favorite. But his rap during second verse is just the best. And the MV is sooo gorgeous. I especially liked all references to knights, even the floor of the location where they're dancing during the second chorus looks a bit like a chessboard. And their worlds/dimensions literally started blurring and collapsing until they were able to go back to the palace? And the only one yet to find the stairs is JR, right? I saw some theory about how he's actually the one who somehow caused all of this and is now trying to repent, it's really interesting. I actually believe that Pledis doesn't have one fixed storyline, but more vague thoughts 'I think I want it to look like this' and a lot of hints seemingly connected to each other, but this is what makes it so fun, you can make your own story and interpret it however you like. But back to the songs! WiFi: cheeky instrumental. I can already see him performing the song and making 'stop' killing part. But I know, I'm 100% sure and no one can convince me otherwise, that it was Aron who decided to rhyme 'limit' with 'timid'. I still love you, but... Hate You: great song, especially for this album. I love how it has both quiet and loud moments that connect with the lyrics (you can really feel how he's shaking everything off during the 'Leave me alone' parts), and the lyrics itself is good, I especially like 'My word is/was dark, so in the end I colored it with my own light' and my heart just shattered at 'Don't know if it'll become my poison or my light' because it has to be what he thought back in 2017... 나, 너ì—게: I like the beginning, but all together it feels a bit too typical and cliche to me. I saw someone here complimenting Ren's improvement as a vocal and I agree so much! I regularly come back to listen to his ballad cover during Romantic Sunday, and he did even better job with his song! Feels: it's kind of funny how Ren got the ballad and Baekho got this song. I see it as their wish to grow and evolve as artists, explore different genres, different directions. Remember 2013 Baekho saying he likes hip-hop, but can't rap, so he's not going to do covers or try that kind of music? Look at him now I already wonder what the performance is going to look like! I still feel like quality-wise Who, You was their best album, but this is very good too and I'm satisfied. Choreo: There are literally two things I dislike in dances: when someone has to change position while singing and other member/backdancer blocks them before they're done singing, and when some members just walk to the side of the stage and stand there idly while other member is having his solo moment in the center. And both of those things happen in Help Me, and it already led to awkward moments during the performance, like when camera tried to follow JR when he was going to the back (still singing), or when Aron didn't get his shot during the chorus, because he'd get blocked by Ren. Don't get me wrong, there are parts that I like (especially those choreographed by Lia Kim), but overall it was just okay for me. Visuals: How does Ren do that? I first saw his purple hair and thought it's not the most flattering shade, but somehow he pulled it off perfectly? Please teach me your ways Aron's hair makes him look like a prince, I love it! And both JR and Baekho looking great as always! But I didn't like the clothes they were wearing for the showcase, especially Aron's looked really baggy, and the white version is the same, I hope they won't wear them all the time. I liked Dejavu styling a bit better. Also, I already watched the fanchant guide at least 5 times, because it's just so evident that Ren is NU'EST's personal sun, they're happy just sitting there and looking at him and letting him do whatever he wants, it's so cute And I'm living for all those OT5 interactions! It's already December, one more month (or two? or what? Announce something already smh) and emo era will be over. Already can't wait for their next album! Now off to watch Love Record
