Basically what I want from this comeback is: powerful choreo with some recognizable dance moves that people can follow, cheerful summerish song, girls looking pretty, getting recognition and appearing on many shows, and longevity on charts. I believe winning thropies is possible, but I don't want to make any predictions when it comes to this. Also my private wish: more lines for Umji. And maybe let her sing in more comfortable voice range, a bit lower. We still don't know when Gfriend will come back... When would be good time? Now Ex0 will be taking everything there is to take, but we could wait after they get tripple crowns so we could also win something. It probably means going head to head with Si*, WG and probably RV. We'll see how this works out. There will be always someone to beat, so for now no need to worry (more than usually ). About this producer, his songs are a bit similiar, but we have to remember that he gave us big hit song MGT and Rough which sounded different and more mature. Also, k-pop isn't only about music, if some other group had gotten Gfriend's songs, they wouldn't have necessarly achieved the same amount of success. Without SM 2.0 connections + promo + luck it would be really hard. And others don't have queen Yuju, case closed.
-
Ah, today was true emotional rollercoaster. Although I wanted them to perform Rough instead of Me Gustas Tu, I guess the former doesn't suit summer concert as well as MGT. Anyway, they did really, really well and the response was great. Also, Eunha has bangs, Umji cut her hair a bit... Buddies, the end of our waiting is near

Honestly this is something I love about Nu'est. Of course there are "pairings" that are popular among fans, so on stage we're most likely to see Ren + JR/Baekho and Minhyun + Aron interactions. But then on their days off you have Baekho randomly biking with Minhyun, Minhyun watching movies with JR, Aron picking a dinner with JR and Ren as his favorite moment of the week... It warms my heart
-
Because Gfriend is now the very definition of success Also, Buddies here are many and active, so haters and trolls always include Gfriend, bc they know we'll come to defend them.
-
Wow, I'm happy for all Buddies who will be able to meet Gfriend! Have fun and cheer loudly!

On a brighter note, recent videos on their Japanese Instagram are just great! I'm especially happy about JR finally showing off his dance skills. Until now he was mainly goofing around (God, his Weekly Idol and A song for you ), so there aren't that many videos that could showcase his talent. Now, if we could see whole dance practice to "Lost and found" (it's my secound favorite from Q is!)... Not going to happen, but I can dream. BTW, I think it hasn't been shared here, it's a quick summary of things they said and did in Japanese interview (AWA Kpopstarz). Cr: lenouvelest. [00:15] JR making sure if they have to say “good evening†(konbanwa) to the viewers instead of “good dayâ€. [00:27] Minhyun being disappointed that he’s not the first to introduce himself because leader JR said “Then I will be the first to introduce myselfâ€. [01:46] Minhyun explaining their concept behind their Overcome MV; the members becoming knights and conveying to the fans their desire to protect them [02:09] The host asking the members about “that one girl sitting aloneâ€, turns out he was talking about Ren [02:33] The host asking Ren how it felt to wear hair extensions, “did you understand how girls are feeling?â€, he then said that the hair was heavy. [02:45] Ren said that it felt weird when looking in the mirror, because he looked female at the top and then male at the bottom. He was cut off by the host before he got to say it though. [03:22] Minhyun telling an episode during the MV filming: where they were dancing was the main set, and there was sand flying around in their ears, eyes, nose. Baekho adding that the sand “tasted good and sweetâ€. [04:03] Beginning of the “Photo session†corner where the members shared one of their favourite pictures. [04:13] First picture is JR’s and it’s from their last Halloween party. It was special because these kind of parties don’t really exist in Korea. [05:28] The host asking “zombie criminal†Baekho why he was arrested by “zombie policemen†JR in the picture, the answer is “Because I lied..? I don’t know!†[05:50] Second picture is Aron’s, a selca he took with Ren while they were out with everyone in a café. It was a long time since their last break so it was a nice memory. [06:18] Baekho said about Aron’s picture that it’s not a very special picture. Then Ren said “but he took it with ME so it’s specialâ€, resulting in a high-five between him and Aron. [06:40] Third picture is Minhyun’s, taken in Sapporo when they had a moped race in an amusement center. The winner of the race was Baekho. [07:44] Fourth picture is Ren’s. It was a selca they were supposed to take with all members, but they all fled because it was too windy so Ren ended up taking the picture alone. [08:35] They said Okinawa was a very nice place to swim and that it was very hot even if they came quite late in the year. [08:55] Last picture is Minhyun’s weird selca. He took it during a rehearsal to lift up the spirits of the members who seemed tired this day. [09:45] Second corner: Keyword talk. [10:15] First keyword: Movie. They talked about how they starred in “Their Distance†and when asked, they said the movie had a complex plot. [10:55] Ren said that the bento he ate for some scenes tasted really good. He said his favourite dish is Hiroshimayaki. [11:30] The host asked Ren about his “nude†scenes in the movie. He asked him how much we could see and Ren said that he was hiding everything except his shoulders. [12:12] The host then asked Ren if he was wearing something during his bathtub scene, and Ren started to answer but he was cut off by the host. [12:48] Second keyword: YouTube. They talked about their videos on their Japanese YouTube channel. [13:20] Minhyun said he learned magic tricks with a teacher, but turns out that other members like JR and Ren were actually more skilled than him to do magic tricks. [14:30] JR did his false magic trick to the host who actually acted surprised but who saw everything thanks to JR and Baekho’s shadows lol [15:45] Ren said that the accessories he designed are “soon to be released… for real.. for real!†way too seriously. [16:07] Ren’s skincare routine involves drinking lots of water and applying ice packs to the face in the morning. [18:30] JR said that he went to a Maid Café in Akihabara but he got too embarrassed and left as soon as he came. He said he never ate an omurice. [21:25] Next keyword is: Girlfriend Camera, which is basically them acting like the camera was their girlfriend. [22:30] The first situation with their “girlfriend†is a funny one: they had a date planned with their girlfriend and when they saw her coming, they grabbed her by the shoulder and put their faces close to hers… But it turns out it’s not their girlfriend! And their real girlfriend would have seen everything. What would they do in such a situation? [23:50] First one to react is Baekho. He would tell his girlfriend “Ah yes, this is my ex-girlfriend. Please greet each other. Let’s… have lunch all three together! … I’m sorry.†[25:00] Minhyun is the second to react to this situation. He went “Ah I’m sorry, my eyes are becoming bad I couldn’t see. I’m going to go to the hospital, see you tomorrow bye bye~†[26:30] Second situation with their “girlfriend†: how would they propose to her? They’ve been dating for two years and her birthday is coming up. [27:15] First one to do their proposal is JR. Very romantic, he asked her to go with him until the afterlife. (it’s kind of hard to translate i’m sorry) [28:00] Aron’s proposal in English. [29:10] Ren’s cool proposal which sounds more like an order than anything else: “I love you (in a very informal way but the pronoun he used can be used by husbands to speak to their wifes). Please marry me.†[30:00] Next corner: KPopstarz playlist by AWA. The theme was “a song which reminds you of Tokyoâ€. [30:35] JR chose his song because he heard it a lot when they arrived in Japan. He said Nishino Kana’s voice is good. [31:30] Ren said he started listening to J-pop in Junior High, 3rd year because he heard the song Sakuranbo by Ai Otsuka. [32:55] The host starts asking the boys if they’ve ever been in love. Minhyun said that he was in love.. with the fans. Baekho answered “never, not yet. I wanted once but it didn’t happenâ€. JR said he was in love with one of his teachers in kindergarten. Aron said he was never in love. Ren said he first fell in love when he was 8 years old and that he’s currently not in love. [38:10] When asked to sing a song to remember his lover when he was 8 years old, Ren, “instead of a love songâ€, sang born this way (and got carried away a bit).

Nah, I don't think so. Of course I can't say for sure, because the episode is not relased yet, but this scene was in BTS and after they leaned towards each other the camera focused on the ceiling, so it was left for our imagination. BTW, I really can't wait for it, Eunha looks lovely (but when doesn't she)
-
I'm glad you enjoyed it I think you're right, at this point Pledis should relase a statement regarding this situation. If they finally speak up, it can go both ways. It can calm people down and maybe really initate some changes in the way NU'EST is treated (I really hope for it), but it's also possible their statement will be lazy, wrongly worded and won't answer raised questions, so it will only enrage the fans. Pledis' PR team isn't really known for being the best... But they handled latest Svt situation pretty good, so maybe they could deal properly with this one, too. Even "Sorry for making you worried, this and that was wrong, this and that happened because of reasons, promise we'll do better in future, sorry again" would really clear the air. Trying again in China... Not sure. They couldn't do it without adressing NU'EST-M. Promoting again with Jason (is this even an option now?) would be really weird and could result in losing OT5 fans, but without him there is no native speaker + just leaving him out of it would look bad. Anyway, now it isn't really a time for that. For now it's probably better to try getting more CFs/photoshoots/advertisements for Ren, since he's the best known and there are people interested in him. Yeah, I can understand some of it, like K-con, but this whole travelling around the world... Too much, too fast. By the way, today I had a dream in which Aron decided to leave NU'EST and go back to America, so Pledis disbanded NU'EST and added remaining members to Svt so the name would finally fit. My brain works in a weird way...

Most of the time I'm quiet, but when I finally speak, I write an essay I'm a bit worried about this whole thing. Some of the listed examples are caused by mismanagement from Pledis that was already discussed many times among LOVEs, like NU'EST-M with Jason or cutting short "Re:Birth" promotions. Yes, there were wrong decisions which resulted in NU'EST's low popularity in Korea. But the thing is that it WASN'T Pledis' goal. They didn't say: "Hey, let's make our first boy group fail, after all we still have AS and OC". You can see there was some logic in their actions. It just makes sense to promote overseas, because this is where you can get more money. China is freaking big, if they had managed to bring some attention to NU'EST, they would be rolling in money right now. After Ren's CF (he got an offer from China, not Korea) 70 000 000 people checked his Weibo account. Now imagine 1% of them would become interested in NU'EST due to their activity in China and 10% from this 1% would buy their next album. Boom, 70 000 copies sold, best selling album in their history. And "Bridge the World"? It sold not only better than "Q is", not only better than "Re:Birth", but also better than "Action" which was the peak of NU'EST in Korea. Pledis' fault was that they started too early and had no luck. So while we can agree some of decisions they made backfired, I don't think we should be bringing it up now, especially because we don't know everything. We don't have all information they had back then which made them think leaving Korea for China and Japan was good for NU'EST. Also, saying "what if" and what they should had done won't bring us anywhere now. Bad decisions were MADE. We can't undone them. We can only support NU'EST now. There are also things that are typical for k-pop. Sleeping for 3 hours a day, shooting a video for 48 hours, standing in cold to do a fan event. It's ugly and many fans don't want to acknowledge it, but this is how this industry works. It would be naive to think it's any different for NU'EST. And in order to change it you need changes in law and in mentality, not an online petition to a not well-known company about a not well-known group. They won't change the rules of a whole game just for us. Oh, and there are also things like too late/no updates on events and schedules, and this is something that should definitely be fixed. Their clothes and make-up - the same. Going to events without their manager is also not a good situation, but we don't know why it happend. Maybe he really neglected them, or maybe his child was ill, or he wasn't feeling well and our boys told him it's alright if he goes home to rest. LOVEs who started this petition mean good, but... Okay, I'll say it. Most of them are teenagers who are trying to tell adults how to run a company. Let's just hope it won't affect our chances for a comeback this year *praying circle for NU'EST*

Thanks for a warm welcome Very well written, I agree with you wholeheartedly. And I'd like to add that the whole ngg title is also not something easily measured. There are clear rules how to win a music show or any other award and if you win, that's it, you have the title and it's a fact. But when it comes to an unofficial title, it's all up to the public. Do you have to sell 100k albums? Do you have to win 100 times? Nobody knows. Anyway, older groups won't just retire and there are some others still going strong, so for now I just hope we could hold our own against them, relase music loved by everyone and get as much recognition as possible. And if the girls and Source Music keep up good work, everything is possible Oh, and the cars look really nice! Sowon, care to share that Ferrari?

I'll be super original: hi, I'm new I've been lurking here since... January? I think. Back then I just liked Gfriend and wished them well, then I had to create a separate folder for them, and now I'm totally in love (partly because of you guys, thanks for keeping the thread updated and alive!). I'm really happy for them, I stopped even counting how many times they exceeded my expectations and achieved something I couldn't even imagine they would, let alone in their rookie years. My favorites are Umji and Yuju, but I appreciate all of them and can't wait for their comeback! And now back to ninja mode
-
Ah, I thought so... It's a bit sad, but overall I'm truly happy with this comeback. I really hope they'll have another Korean album this year. Japan is very good to them, but let's not "bury" them only here, you could see people thinking Nu'est was on hold this whole time. Anyway, Aron leaked the info about having around five more songs already recorded. If they are worth keeping and somehow fit together, it would really rise our chances. April is for Seventeen, then probably Orange Caramel, Seventeen again... And Nu'est in October/November? Please be true, I want to believe By the way, have any of you already seen "Their distance"? If yes, tell me honestly... How is their acting? They don't have much experience, so I'm a bit worried.
-
I recognize their skills and even enjoy some of their songs, but I just can't get myself into groups with more than six/seven members. Even then there is often someone getting overshadowed and singing one line in the entire song, and knowing my luck it'll be this one member I like the most. So I like Seventeen as a whole, but don't know them individually. I guess what you say about fans is true... It can't really be avoided, but I still hope it'll lessen a bit. I don't really believe in trying again in China, but what got me thinking is that Jason is now in Korea. He even posted a photo of himself with someone from Seventeen (sorry, don't know his name) and said something about missing Nu'est-M. I have nothing against Jason, but I think we all agree Nu'est-M was a failed experiment and bringing it back now all of sudden doesn't seem wise. And yes, staying in Japan is the best they can do right now, Oricon and Tower charts are proving it right now.
-
So now they're doing covers, like Winner? I wonder if it will be only "Overcome" or maybe something different. It makes more sense to draw attention to the main song, so it's probably just "Overcome", but it's still interesting. I wouldn't go as far as to call myself Seventeen fan, because I just don't know them good enough, but they seem entertaining and really talented. And what I also like is how Pledis is now promoting Nu'est, Pledis girls and Seventeen at once. I hope it'll end all of unnecessary drama between fandoms. I'm not saying they all have to support us now, especially if they just don't enjoy that kind of music, but lack of antipathy would be great. By the way, have you seen pictures of Jason? What do you think? 2015 in Japan, 2016 in China?
-
Hi again. Real life has been recently too real, but oh well. It took me a few listens to get used to "Overcome", it sounded a little bit messy for me, but now I can say it's really creative song with a lot going on and I appreciate it. I'm not convinced when it comes to "In fact", I can watch them performing it, but I most likely won't listen to it just because I want to (honestly, first time listening to it I thought there's something wrong with my headphones). But I liked from the beginning "Bickering" and "Heaven", and One KIS2 is pretty good, too. Welcome to the fandom! Ren is a gift to us all, although we don't deserve him And the best thing is that no matter what he's wearing, what kind of hairstyle he has, he still looks godly. Ren in short, blond hair - stunning. Ren in brown hair - drop dead georgeus. Ren in long, blond hair - asdfghjk. And I have photos, gifs and videos to prove it! When it comes to the music, it really depends on your tastes. I think Nu'est is one of the most flexible groups, they tried many sounds and concepts and one is just bound to find something to like. There is a post on Tumblr which pretty much sums it all up: http://nuestism.tumblr.com/post/139571592367/hey-im-a-newbie-to-nuest-what-are-your There are even links to each song, it's really a good list. Oh, and there is one more song I like, which is not listed here, it's called "A scene without you", using categories in this list, I think it would be mellow/ballads. There is also their Japanese stuff, it's mostly cute (with the exception of Na.Na.Na.Namida) and you can really tell that it's j-pop. But well, it worked for them, they are pretty popular in Japan. If you have any questions, like about channels subbing their videos or variety shows or good fancams or anything else, feel free to ask!

Pledis is really generous today, and I won't complain. Aron JR is killing me as always, Baekho's handsome and Ren looks way better than in previous pictures. I mean, I knew he would, but now he's just gorgeus. Minhyun doesn't look like himself at all, for a moment I thought he's EXO's (or ex-EXO? I don't really know) Tao. It's not bad, I'll just need some time to get used to it. (Update after seeing MV teaser: I needed exactly 3 secounds ) Ahh, teaser is out! I laughed at very wisible ceiling in Baekho's part, but overall it's good, I like it. And I hope they like it, too. I remember one interview in which JR said that at the beginning he was really fond of "Hello" concept, but he changed his mind after reading comments from fans. And I think it's not okay. If this is something they want to do, especially now, when they're actually involved in making this album, then they should do it. Not every idol gets a say in making his own music, so when they have a chance, they should use it to express themselves. And it's not like coming back to old things would be a magic solution for Nu'est problems. It was kind of unique when they debuted, but now many boy groups have this image, even rookies from 2015. All of them are targeting the same audience and they fight for fans among themselves. It would be just hard to get noticed. BTW, is there a way to change a little thread's title? Maybe we could add comeback's date, so more people would see it?
-
Hi there I'm new to OH, so my first post will be in my bias group's tread. I just can't wait for their comeback! And I didn't come here without anything for you. There's a little something what BumZu added on the Instagram. Hashtag says "dongsaeng's comeback", and isn't it Baekho sitting in the chair...? https://www.instagram.com/p/BBLIkNohl-r/ Honestly I don't know how I feel about the music, I'm afraid they will try too hard to make it "Face 2", but Nu'est already showed us they can pull off that kind of concept, right? "Judgment" was just epic. And we still don't know anything more, so all we can do is sit and wait. Oh, and be reduced to tears and FEELS and... Yeah, that kind of stuff.
