Hello! Alex97 already covered pretty much everything but here's also a SKE primer that also has a lot of information! There's also a Jurina oshi discord that was just recently made. Feel free to join in and spam tons of Jurina content!
-
My Japanese is rather trash, but it says "on the cover [of the magazine (?)] now on sale, reading the messages from Team E, Makiko-san was touched by her own words and cried (laugh)" Edit: Is this the wrong one? It's not about Jurina but what I saw when I clicked on the instastory since idk how to use instagram

Do you have a link/picture of what she said?

Thanks so much! I hope all of us Jurina oshis can support each other and continue to cheer Jurina on during these times <3

Would you guys be interested in some kind of Jurina related group chat/discord server? It could be a nice place to get our thoughts out without the tons of arguments and negativity. I want to make one but I also don't really have the time nowadays to manage an entire server. It's a really tough time but let's try to stay positive guys <3

It's been many hours and I'm still thinking of how to put what I feel into words. I was really distraught at the news but I've finally had some time to collect my thoughts. As a relatively newer fan of Jurina, I want to share my experience too. As a non-AKB fan and kpop girl group stan, I didn't really know anything about Jurina before Produce 48 happened. I never watched the first two seasons (only watched some IOI stuff casually) and wasn't planning on watching this show either. After all, what was the point of getting emotionally attached to a group that was going to disband anyway? I was beginning to give up on kpop too, as the performances started getting blander to me and the amount of glaring double standards really bothered me. But as I browsed Youtube and watched a few of the teaser clips, she really caught my attention. From the moment the music started and she flashed her confident smile, I knew that this was the girl I needed to watch out for. Even though her singing and dancing weren't as polished as the Korean trainees, there was something about the way she filled up the stage, the way she carried herself that was different. And from even that few second clip, I was inexplicably drawn to her. Becoming a new fan, watching old AKBingo episodes, falling in love with not only her stage performances but her hard-working and kind personality, it sounds dramatic but it was like an intense crush for the first time in a long time. She brought a new freshness and energy into KPOP, the 120%, the passion for performing and amounts of raw charisma that I had never seen before. Then the whole senbatsu thing started blowing up. And it felt so terrible seeing the searches of her name being flooded with such insane amounts of nasty comments and negativity. I wanted to protect her, but there wasn't really anything I could do. So I waited patiently, quietly following this thread and Produce, waiting for updates, hoping it would soon blow over. I guess the part that sucks as a fan is that it was actually starting to turn around. When her "nekkoya" fancam dropped, I was so proud and relieved to see the amount of support and attention she was getting. I've watched the performance over 100 times and it never gets old - each time I'm mesmerized by her facial expressions, her energy, her smile - there was something new in each moment. Even now, it makes me tear up at these part of the lyrics: "Don’t stop, after this time passes, you might lose me" because as her journey in Produce 48 ends, it turns out to come true so soon. From there, her few moments of screentime in the following episodes and the BTS scenes, though little, really warmed my heart. I loved the gay memes of course, but there was so much more than that. In her Peekaboo fancam too, with the huge amounts of likes, positive comments, and new fans like me she was pulling in through her charisma alone, I grew ecstatic and was confident she'd do well with 1-pick and perhaps even make the final group. And even amidst the rumors of her leaving, I was super optimistic. She'll come back soon, she won't leave. Jurina isn't one to quit things, and this was supposed to be her moment. I guess it's why this hurts so much, because I kept believing. Perhaps it's selfish of me to want her in the final group, especially since she's already intensely overworking herself with two groups and is in such poor condition. It's selfish, but I couldn't help but envision her dynamic within the final group, coming to KCON and touring, the high quality fancams and fansite photos, the moments of variety they could laugh at, and the explosion of international recognition she could benefit so much off of, especially since JPOP is comparatively inaccessible. But I know all of that pales in comparison to her health. This is probably the best for her, she deserves this rest more than anyone else. She's worked endlessly and tirelessly for the past few years, and I know she will come back brighter than ever. After all, she did promise「諦ã‚ãªã„ã€ç–²ã‚Œã¦ãªã„ã€"I won't give up, I won't get tired". And despite everything, this IS still her moment, she is still fighting. And as long as she doesn't give up, neither should we. I guess that's all I can think of for now, this ended up being way longer than I intended. Thank you to anyone who actually took the time to read everything, I really appreciate it. Reading this thread has become my solace during the mess of these 24 hours and I'm glad there's a place to find support, a place where so many other people love and care so much about Jurina. I hope we'll have a chance to talk more in the future.

Everyone's hoping for a good song ofc but I'm also hoping their debut song with have impactful lyrics, something like Into the New World fits perfectly (and My Turn/Present also has good lyrics). Songs about love are a dime a dozen but lyrics about overcoming difficulties/moving towards a new future would be so meaningful and set them apart.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the advice! Right now my top groups/scores are TTS/Shinee/Taeyeon/Henry/RV. I end up upgrading my cards because I run out of card space whoops, it feels like a waste to just discard them (is there a way to sell them?) I've had pretty decent luck I think and I've been able to 3-star a few hard modes bc I used to obsessively play osu <3 I suck at getting super perfects though, I still need to practicing my timing!

Hello guys! I just started this game about a week ago, it's so fun! It's too bad I missed the majority of the Golden Dog event since the BoA event is a bit too hard for me, but I'm looking forward to the stuff to come.

I don't really stan boy groups either but the fact that they're together so much has put UNB on my radar. I usually do other stuff while the boys' parts are airing but I already can recognize and name each member. They're pretty likeable but I don't see myself stanning them any time soon. I'm a bit upset at the unequal screentime distribution as well but I guess the boys are more profitable and they rely more on fandom support than public support, so KBS is trying to build up a fandom. I'm surprised that they're going to Immortal Songs though. They could either shut down the people criticizing their vocals or they could completely fall flat. I hope it's the former. I hope Unity goes to Immortal Songs too because they have a solid vocal line. Or at least get an equal amount of variety show opportunities. Too much blatant favoritism will make fans upset.

Regardless of exactly how the sunbae/hoobae thing works since they're all relatively older debuts, I think they'll still go around greeting their "sunbaes" as a rookie group because it looks better for them to have a "rookie mindset".

You and I performance was so good! Ting was good too but You and I was so on point. I still find Jiwon a little bit awkward with cute concepts (tho I wouldn't blame her ofc, she's almost 30), but I think the girls are a lot more versatile than we give them credit for. They could shine in any concept. I'm glad KBS is treating them well with good camerawork. Now if only they'd find a good producer too for their songs, UNI.T could do so well! @ OP: I'm not 100% sure but I think this is a fansite for Jiwon: https://twitter.com/heeeeya0405 Thanks for taking over!

Sunny's been looking so happy recently! Just watching her makes my heart feel full. I haven't been able to watch any of her newer shows but I still hope they'll be subbed eventually.

NC.A is so cute talking to herself LOL she must be excited having group members after like 5 years of being a solo artist and the younger kids teaching big unnie Jiwon how to use technology, urrghh they're all so cute my heart is full

Jiwon was in the original pre-debut lineup of T-ara as well, which would make her kinda a company senior to Yebin as well. She’s really been kinda everywhere, it’s a bit sad since she’s been training since like 2002. The rest of Five Girls and probably most of her same aged friends are probably already well-settled into their careers.
-
I'm shooks every time that Jiwon was only a subvocal in SPICA. She's probably lead/main vocal level in this group right now. THAT's how good SPICA's vocals were. What a group. The more I see of Unit G stuff, the more excited I get for the things to come! Bitterness from the results is pretty inevitable, but I think we'll be able to get over it as things settle down and they start doing group activities. I'm just praying that they get a good name.

Don't be discouraged! I think people are just really nervous because it's the final round. I'm rooting for everyone! My faves may not make it but I still wish Unit G and Unit B success. They've all worked hard.

I have a sinking feeling that Yang Jiwon is going to pull an Idol School Haein and I'm scared to even see the results next week. People say she hasn't stood out since her audition but that's super hard to do with minimal screentime/focus. urgh my emotions are a mess, I want her and Woohee to make it so bad alskdjflaskdjfl

Are any of you guys still watching The Unit? I've been watching it but Jiwon hasn't gotten much screentime and it seems like she's fallen out of favor w/ quite a few people. I hope she makes top 9 but I can see her really struggling with cuter concepts, harder dances, and building relationships with members a good 7-8 years younger than her. I hope everything works out for her in the end, even if she doesn't make it in. On another note, I found this super cringey/embarrassing (?) vid of Jiwon's musical performance that made me laugh
