  1. I'm not one of the vocal experts, just a lurker. So I couldn't give you an accurate anything about them.
  2. We're never gonna see another male vocalist (in the US) on Luther's level.
  3. Been awhile... Has there been a video for that concert they did recently where they were in black? Also WIthout You is kind of bad. By bad I mean boring. I mean I find Mad Clown meh anyway, but at least that song with Soyu worked well. Hyorin however...she just doesn't connect for me. I think a lot of it stems from Hyorin being a bad duet/collab partner. Like I don't think I have actually enjoyed many of her collabs/duets she has done as a whole. I like her parts, and other parts, but for the most part...nah. She too much of a leader to follow and that hurts her in those cases. I also think it has a lot to do with her musical wit, and she generally just follows what is given instead of adapting, which may also include a partner. She is getting better. That Let It Go performance with Ailee was nice enough. But then there was the performance in LA with 2PM...and I hated her section with Jun K. Too messy on so many ends. She was clean with her parts, but when they tried to sing together, no coordination, no harmonies, and she didn't even try to adapt to him. I am not saying she should do all the work, but I think this is a weakness for her. In that same performance Soyu adapted to both Wooyoung and Jun K. It just a thing that bothers me with Hyorin.
  4. I wish she had explained that thing Tamar does. It's like she puts too much oomph on her upper belts and they have an edge to them. It doesn't always happen though... Also her Beyonce video was lacking. She kept talking about Cadillac Records in relation to Listen, even though that came a couple of years after Listen (Listen is B'Day/Dreamgirls era. Cadillac Records is IASF era). I do agree that Beyonce voice changed (and her use of it) later post Dangerously In Love, but it was just right after that era in the final Destiny's Child album (barely a year apart)...but that's just this stan talking...She did admit that she was not an active follower of Beyonce so I don't blame her.
  5. That's basically all I'm saying without actually saying it.
  6. I know that, however I am not talking about that. If anything that applies more to the fact that Yerin is more confident on stage than Jimin (or used to). However I am speaking about Yerin as a singer who knows more so what type of singer she is. Yerin is an R&B singer, she auditioned with R&B based songs. She predominantly sings R&B based (Save the few Davichi covers they did, however she handled that like an R&B singer would) music. Yerin knows what she is, and is able to communicate that musically. I don't think Jimin does (at least not yet). Jimin can luckily handle R&B and pop based music, but I don't think she is at the same level musically as Yerin.
  7. I think the only reason why people say Yerin took over this song is because this is in her element. It's R&B, plus Yerin is a much more confident singer than Jimin. They had equal parts and other than that one high note Yerin got on the second chorus, no one really ran this song in my opinion. Also good for them and their success.
  8. Depends though. In K pop I don't really think there would be much of a problem simply because K pop fans are mad dedicated to the cause and will buy almost anything of/for their fave (generalization I know but there is truth to it). Plus it is just a single, and that is usually $0.99-$1.99 so you really ain't losing much for a song (on a song that isn't even downloadable, you can only listen to it). However if this was a full album that was leaked weeks (or even one) in advanced the numbers would look totally different. But once again K pop is a different beast then some other music industries.
  9. Being a bad fan and listened to it early...
  10. About to finally start working on a new video.

  11. So this is the man that started it and thankfully it went into another's hands? How many vocal coaches have she had? I think it has been three as far as we know
  12. She doesn't even sound like it. I think the S Concert in Korea was overall better, but just by a small margin (maybe because of that F#5). Also does anyone have the full set list?
  13. Living for the voice and the look.Plus let's give it up for Bora. I know she is not a vocalist, but I lowkey live for any moment she actually sings because she has a cute voice.
  14. Non K Pop related, but Chante Moore's use of her whislte register has got to be top 5 for that register.
  15. You could wait until somebody post it on youtube, and then use a converting website to turn the video into an mp3
  16. The original version was done by Patti Labelle (or a group she was a part of)...
  17. Non K pop video. JoJo has been improving a lot since her dark period (2010-2011)
  18. Outside of them complimenting each other, the music was hardly complicated. I do think that Yeeun and maybe Yubin should get vocal lessons, just to fix issues (plus I like Yubin's singing voice), they can carry on without an issue. And even without once again the music was rarely above and beyond them.
  19. JYPE needs to get a lot of things together, but debuting Got7 has no effect on WG. Outside of a few fans being upset, there is no real issue. In my opinion, JYPE needed to debut another boygroup. 2PM only has so much time left before members have to start going off to the army. 2AM has a niche but they can't compete with these young bloods...and once again the military. JYPE needed a new group to get in with the public. The company is having issues with how to handle the Wonder Girls right now, but that doesn't mean they should stop with their plans.
  20. Ugh...I think that (JYPE and Sunye) have come to an agreement that she is going to still be in the group but WG is not the priority for her. JYPE needs to handle this. They don't have to kick her out but they can continue without her. En VOgue (90's US girl group) had a member (actually members) in a similar situation. She took time off (due to wanting to spend time with her family) but the group remained active without her. Ehe came back and has not left since. JYPE can do this but they just need to get on and say they will continue without her until her return.
  21. What statement? And yep Stan since 99 (sorry I don't know how to use spoilers on my phone)
