Wow. It has been quite a long time since I lurked and posted in this thread. There has been a whole generation shift. Most of the original posters do not post here anymore or no longer on Onehallyu all together and most of recent pages are full of new posters who are also new on Onehallyu. --- I will only briefly explain my opinion because I am not trying to convince anyone. If anyone cares about SHINee, this is what I thought about Jonghyun overtime. Heterosexual -> Bisexual -> Homosexual -> Bisexual -> Homosexual or Pan-sexual 1. Heterosexual First I thought Jonghyun was heterosexual because he is Korean beauty standard / SM idol standard type of handsome. 2. Bisexual Next I thought Jonghyun was bisexual because JongKey became one of my favorite OTP and I only ship OTP that I think are genuine. Later on SM announced Jonghyun was dating SSK 3. Homosexual After reviewing the facts about Jonghyun and Sekyung dating, I thought their relationship was fake to cover up that SM was hardcore suing JYJ. I think Jonghyun loves Key. 4. Bisexual The popular opinion among most Shawols and kpop fans is that Jonghyun is bisexual. I still thought that Jonghyun was homosexual but I would lie most times and follow the popular opinion because fans get really defensive when it comes to their bias sexuality. So it always comes down to: Which is less delusional? 1/ Jonghyun being homosexual because shippers think JongKey is real and in love with each other when it could all be fanservice. Or 2/ Jonghyun is bisexual because most believe he might have had something serious or experimental with Key but he dated SSK and fans defend by saying "He said he dated girls in the past.", "He said he likes girls only.", "He writes and sings songs about girls." even though he can’t really say otherwise unless he was going to out himself. Also, after hearing the popular opinion of Jonghyun being bisexual so much and for so long, I actually started to believe it. 5. Fic recs are great too. I have not been able to find JongKey fanfics that have not already read. Almost all of the JongKey fanfics on Asianfanfics were written in 2012, after that nothing. That is what pushed me into writing fanfics myself. I completely agree. I add that I love ​Key because he is not afraid to be himself. Jonghyun meant that SHINee came together for work and their work relationship is what made them close friends. Like you said, Jonghyun and Key have to protect their career and I add that they have matured. But they still show naive intimacy.
