i have to agree... i've mostly stanned girlgroups and i feel like there were so many distinct 3rd gen ggs. and by that i don't only mean their concepts, but their sound. gfriend with the melancholic orchestral pop, twice with the bubblegum, catchy pop, red velvet with their red/velvet experimental, quirky sound, mamamoo with the retro music with incredible vocals. and not even mentioning DC, lovelyz, wjsn, oh my girl, april, momoland etc. i think that after BP became the most popular girlgroup almost everyone started doing girlcrush concepts with that same empty chorus, rap verses, heavy beat drop... a very loud, noisy type of music. kpop has always been about trends but it feels even more like that rn.

kinda OT but I was watching the Girls Planet 999 introductions earlier and I noticed how the C-group girls were the only ones to consistently bring up weight in their introductions bragging about how skinny they were or saying they had to lose weight, etc. So I wonder if her weight loss had anything to do with the shift of her career to China where 80s/early '00s style skinny seems to be more in trend compared to SK's baby-steps towards body positivity.  Of course it could also be a case like Uee's where she just didn't want to be sexualized for those features. Likely a combination of both.
