@ lujung Rude/confrontational fans ruin it for everyone. Those kind of fans have the ability to completely turn you off from a group. I still remember the 2PM vs Jay Park incident *shudders* @ ghost_the_kid Oh no that's not the impression I got from you at all. It's that I was trying to point out that a lot of agencies do the same thing to their artists. The focus is entirely on the "big ticket" groups and the rest are ignored, which does suck because those opportunities would allow the others groups a chance to do well, but its all about the moneymakers. The actions of the agency shouldn't affect people's feelings towards groups, but they do. Seriously, YG has been forcing GD down fans throats so hard lately and now even hardcore VIPs are sick of GD. @ mocha Thanks for reading my essay lol. It was originally supposed to be a comment. The whole point my post was because I wanted share that both groups have positive qualities. My intention was not come off defensive or accuse anyone of being a hater because everyone has been so pleasant to me. It's just that there are a lot people who are fans of both groups and visiting both threads hasn't been fun lately. I wanna stare at all the pretty pictures, but the occasionally negative is a bit of a buzzkill. Like lujung mentioned earlier, some fans have the ability to ruin the groups for you and thankfully that hasn't been the case here or in other thread. You guys have seriously been the best for putting up with me and my rants usually I get annihilated for even expressing my opinions.

@ CBear Bought back so many buried feels. Thanks for that !

Your right it's just that it sucks when you like more than one group and you see those kind of comments. Now that I got off my chest I think I'll just go back enjoying the updates silently.

I think 2013 has been a lackluster year so far because the time between their comebacks was too long for everyone. It seems like the bigger kpop acts have been busy doing other things and as a result rookies have taken over with their constant promotions. Thanks for acknowledging that Beast does have a distinct because honestly that's something that irks me about kpop fans. If Cube continues to allow them to be apart of the process more than I believe that Beast will be able to grow as artists in the future. I totally got distracted by the gifs oh my why are they so adorable ? As much as I don't like him, your right its only a matter of time before he's selling out concerts again. Cube isn't the only agency to play favorites. Tbh every company has their favorites because the popular individuals open the door for the others. The same goes JTC, Lee Joon became their MVP and then passed the baton to Mir. Why would you make your best player sit out, when you can use to win the match ? Sorry about the essay lol. For me, this album is not only a step in the right direction music-wise, but I see bigger and better things in the future for Beast. The way I see it kpop engrish is a special type of english lol. Kpop wouldn't be the same without the Engrish. I can't help but think about Mir every time I eat waffles. You should check out this song it's my second favorite on the album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NWRMPOmHPA

It's your opinion and your entitled to it, but I would have to disagree because this my favorite Beast album thus far. I'm totally digging the more mature vibe and the lyrics are meaningful maybe its because Junhyung 's influence.

I completely see where you coming from and I would agree the announcement had me scratching my head. To be honest, I don't like Rain or his music and after reading the announcement all I think about was that MBLAQ was free, but the burden shifted to Beast. If Beast's comeback had been pushed back I swear I would have flown to Korea and beat Rain myself. Honestly I was surprised that Cube signed him, but it must be because of his personal relationship between him CEO. The announcement might have been a power move on Cube's part or that's all how the events turned out, I can't really say because I wasn't there. I really wish Rain would just leave both of them alone because he's honestly nothing but trouble. Like I said earlier, in my opinion all agencies are evil period.

Wow you totally destroyed me with you kpop history lol. However, I do agree with you in terms of international fans not knowing exactly how and what makes it possible for these wins to occur. It's like they wear music shows wins like a badge of honor not realizing what went down to get it. Do get me wrong, I was freaking out a few minutes ago after reading about 2NE1 Inkigayo win on akp, but the reality is those wins mean nothing Koreans because its basically bought by a combination of fans & their companies. However, I'll have disagree with you about Beast not having a distinct sound because most of their songs excluding their ballads have a distinctive Beast flair. As for the improvement, as a group I feel like they have come a long way both in terms of singing and dancing. In terms of music, their sound hasn't changed that much, but that's not necessarily their fault. MBLAQ has been lucky in the sense of being able to try different types of musical styles in their career thus far , but Beast has just started stretching their wings recently. Although, I'm not feeling the tittle track their new album is pretty solid it terms the production and incorporating new styles. I was super excited after finding out both MBLAQ & Beast had a hand in making their albums. If I can be honest it wouldn't matter if both albums were horrible because I would love it regardless, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Yoseob's is vocally talented, but I feel his talented is overlooked because he's in Beast. He's solo was really good in terms of everything: singing, live performance, and the MV. However, singing a majority of the songs all the time strains his voice, but that's the management's fault not because he can't sing or his ability is declining. Reading things comments like Beast could do without members stings as a fan because I love them all. It's like saying MBLAQ without Lee Joon it's not MBLAQ anymore, the same goes for Beast. This year has had a lot of underwhelming acts so far and I feel like so far only MBLAQ and Beast managed to stay above the fray, but I might be a little biased.

Lee Joon was helping him promote Beast.

I’m a have been a silent lurker for a while now, but I really wanted share my opinions with you guys. Let me start off by saying that I have been a huge kpop since I had the opportunity to study in Korea. This year I was really excited because in a sea of rookies all my faves came back GG, Shinhwa, Shinee, 2PM, MBLAQ, 2NE1 and now my babies Beast. Although, I want to be more involved the overall negative vibe scares me a way and I miss things like Monstar and Nail Shop Paris. It’s difficult because I want to comment and defend my faves because I love everyone. After reading a lot of the comments here and in the MBLAQ thread I had to comment. I hope everyone here understands this is my own personal opinion and you have every right to disagree with me, but please do so politely. 1. Cube has been a major point of contention on both threads. I personally feel that the possibility of Cube hindering MBLAQ is plausible. I can’t speak for all MBLAQ fans, but to me personally all the pre-releases the week of MBLAQ’s comeback have always had me a little puzzled. With that being said, I don’t think it’s fair to just point the finger at Cube when the possibility is just as great for other agencies to be doing the exact same thing. Take for example YG pre-releasing It Rains when 2NE1 was fluctuating on the charts, which ruined Infinite’s chances and let’s not forget Beast highly anticipated comeback was right around the corner. I have been a kpop fan too long to believe in those kinds coincidences anymore. I think all entertainment agencies whether its Cube, JTC , SM, JYP, or YG are evil because they treat their artists like products constantly working them to death with music show promotions, dramas, CFS, variety shows, etc. I know it’s the only way to get their name out there, but my fangirl heart hates seeing them walking around looking like zombies. 2. The issue of popularity has been a problem between these two groups since 2009. However, there is no real way to determine the overall popularity of kpop idol groups with the general public because the public feels the exactly same way about them all, which is there are no feelings. As someone who has lived in Korea, I can tell you that kpop idols are not exactly received positively in Korea. Originally, the hallyu wave was started in 1999-2000s with dramas, but now the Korean government has shifted their attention to the growing trend of KPOP. The problem in my opinion is that agencies practically force idols down their throats on daily basis and it’s like their everywhere and you can’t escape them. As a result, now the hallyu wave is seen as a government conspiracy to make KPOP look bigger than it really is. The KPOP trend is thought of as a passing phase with no real hope in the future and all their accomplishments whether in Korea or aboard are completely ignored. However, if the question is who has the most fans in Korea than heads down right now the answer is Beast. Music show wins, topping charts, and album sales is attributed to the fans and has nothing to do with general public contrary to popular belief, which logically would mean that Beast has more fans in Korea. That doesn’t mean MBLAQ is unpopular or doesn’t have fans because they do, it’s just that they may not have as many fans or their fans are not as active as Beast fans. With that being said, we have to acknowledge MBLAQ has a bigger international fandom than Beast. You don’t have to be a hardcore fan of MBLAQ to know them or watch all their shows. Among international kpop listeners their image is overall positive, which makes me happy as fan. On the other hand, a large number of international kpop listeners dislike or straight out hate Beast, which makes me a little sad as a fan. Honestly, those feelings were around even before the kpop surge, but it’s sad that even the new kpop fans are not giving them a chance and hopping on that bandwagon of hate. 3. I want to share my opinions on the issue of talent that has been discussed lately. I want to start by saying that musical taste is subjective, but ability is not. With that being said, I pride myself on not being a delusional fangirl because as much as I love both groups and trust me I do, they’re not exactly on the same level in terms of ability. In terms of singing ability, it has to go to MBLAQ because their better singers period. However, Beast has been constantly improving leaps and bounds with every release. In terms of dance ability and execution, it would have to be MBLAQ again, which makes sense because Beast had to train whereas MBLAQ had skilled dancers to begin with. Everyone is aware that MBLAQ formation process is completely different from Beast hence the gap in ability. To be honest, I feel like 2013 has been a year of improvements Taemin can sing now, Chansung rapping has improved tremendously, and Kwanghee’s not as annoying anymore. I feel like both groups have come a long way since their debut and we should acknowledge that. 4. Lastly, there is the issue of MBLEAST. Like I mentioned earlier, I have been a kpop fan for awhile now and in the beginning I was shipping MBLEAST so hard, but all the infighting makes it so hard now. In my opinion, MBLEAST ship isn’t like how it used to be and I can only imagine it’s because of the fans. In Korea, Beast has a lot younger fans and some these fans spend every waking moment not only comparing the two, but also actively attacking MBLAQ and their fans. So it only makes sense that MBLAQ fans are not interested in the whole package deal. Reading the comments about MBLAQ’s “flop album†or Beast being a “reject group†comments are nothing compared to the hate spewed by those little girls. As a native Korean speaker, I have seen so many comments from both sides thrashing and tearing apart both groups. So it’s hard for me to see them being as comfortable as they would like to be with their fans here and in Korea pitting them against each other. From my A+ perspective, there is a lot issues I have with MBLEAST, for instance it doesn’t make sense to say that Beast is more popular and then use MBLAQ has rivals. If Beast is indeed more popular than MBLAQ should no longer be their rival and Beast should find another group to compete with. In order for someone to be considered a rival you have to be on the same level right? As for the issue of public recognition, Lee Joon trumps all idols including all my faves. Wow that’s more than I expected to write and I really had to get that off my chest. We all have opinions and just because it’s different from others doesn’t automatically mean its hate or jealously. I have experienced a lot negatively during my kpop history, but I’m sincerely grateful it’s not at the level of Korean fans because then I would seriously have to quit. @ mistressnicey & summertime soul Thanks posting the fancams of the show <3 @ aleee & Melicha Thanks so much for posting those fansign pics !
