  1. Having Japanese members doesn’t mean they’ll be mainly in Japan. Twice & IZ*One are examples of this. They can focus on both countries & be a success in both places.

i think a bunch of us just have trust issues with YG and how he sent ikon to japan even without any japanese members

  2. Right. After this year there will be only 1 active boy group in YG. Both WINNER and BIGBANG will be inactive as groups for 2-3 years. It makes sense to debut 2 now.

And YG won't go the next 2-3 years with only 1 boy group.

In the Kpop industry even moderately successful boy groups make a lot of money due to touring and merch. And YG is a tour-heavy company. The fangirls are typically a more dedicated group of people to support a group financially. That's why you see boy groups who drop like a rock in the charts are still able to turn profits. Especially when compared to girl groups. Twice and BLACKPINK being the exceptions because they're touring a lot.

WINNER and iKON debuted only a year apart. It makes sense we're in another cycle to do that for 4th gen.

The cold reality of boy groups is that there's an expiration date/countdown to enlistment. Companies are constantly replenishing their boy groups.

i still don't feel like this was his original plan tho but i hope the 2 groups strategy works out for him

  3. Hmm why are they all suddenly creating ig accounts now? I mean I’m sure they still want to be scouted by other companies and im sure some of these companies do not allow their trainees to have sns, right? Am I the only one who find this suspicious?... or probably not..

Sent from my iPhone using OneHallyu

just my guess but i think they’re planning to go on the new Produce but keeping their accounts active until the show airs?
