I don't know who you are referring to exactly but I've never seen anyone downplaying his achievements, at least in here...I've only seen some sane criticism of his acting, which is pretty normal imo and I don't think anyone is doing that to satisfy other members stans like who cares of what they think about Kai? I've only seen the 5th episode so far, waiting for someone to sub the final one Like I said in the Choco Bank thread, I noticed Kai improved a lot from the third episode...But the 5th one in particular really surprised me! I wasn't expecting that kind of dramatic acting lol but he was really convincing... Good job actor Kai, not bad He still needs to work on his facial expressions overall, but I really liked his intonation...Now I understand what the actress meant when she said that Kai had a "good voice". I think I've seen you lurking here before To answer your question...(it might be slightly long sorry) in my opinion, Kai's style of dancing is just too unique for Kpop standards so it's always gonna be polarizing...Especially considering most Kpop fans are teens who don't know anything about dancing. I'm actually quite surprised Kai managed to get this amount of success and recognition (not talking about experts but normal fans) while not being your typical idol dancer... He's a very expressive dancer, which normal people wouldn't get I guess but for me for example (since I used to dance) was never a big deal since I'm used to see that in contemporary/modern (whatever you call that in english lol) choreographies...Some teachers would actually say to some dancers to work more on their facial expressions because they were too blank and needed to show some emotion Also the thing that Kai should tone it down for the rest...lol what? He was chosen by the freaking company to be the CENTER and the MAIN DANCER of the group which means he is supposed to LEAD the others...So they should upgrade their level not force the MAIN DANCER to be "lazy" so the others can shine I've never seen him off beat but I've seen other members being way to fast or too slow...Even in the most recent performance not gonna name people though but sure let's blame the main dancer who's "too extra" Don't get me wrong I think most Exo members are quite good at dancing but the fact that Kai gets the blame for their lack of synchronization is just...ridiculous Now, if someone doesn't like Kai's way of "personalizing" the dance is perfectly fine but that's a different story... I'm sorry if I sound pressed af because I totally am lol but I'm kind of sensitive about this topic lol Anyway just my two cents, feel free to disagree with me
