  1. Spoiler alert!!! Do not open if you don't want to be spoiled for ep 9.

Mnet kept secrets better than this... It's only Saturday and we know everything already.

Others have pointed out that this may be a photoshopped picture. If it is, definitely amazing skills. I thought it was real lol.

I think it’s photoshopped. If the people in the top 9 only get 20 something votes then what do those at 30th position get?

  2. Ok, I’ve never watched HSR before since usually rap, or at least the rap I’ve heard, hasn’t been my cup of tea. However, I was warming up to rap after listening to some of NCT’s raps and heard that Mark had been on HSR S1. Coincidently I also got recommended a video of Hwiyoung during the cypher battle and was pretty impressed, but didn’t investigate any further. However, a couple of days ago I got recommended a video of Vinxen/ Byungjae on YT and his rap just CONNECTED with me. I do not suffer from depression or anxiety but his lyrics were so real and the instrumental in the back was gorgeous.

I’ll be supporting Byungjae if he comes out with more raps like those and I hope that he can soon be find inner happiness and peace. Personally, I think Haon is a great new friend for that since he practices meditation and all about finding your inner self

Edit: I’m referring to this vid

  3. Gillis Grafström was the only skater to win three consecutive Olympic gold medals at 1920, 1924 and 1928.

The fact that Yuzuru is the only one to win OGMs back to back in men's skating from the modern era (last one was Dick Button in 1952) only shows what a difficult feat he achieved.  Maybe some people don't realize that.  The other multiple Gold medalist in men's skating did so when people were barely landing triples. That time multiple OGMs were the rule not the exception. (it doesn't diminish what they did, but just showing how skating evolved). Yuzuru also did it in one of the if not the most competitive fields ever, anyone of the top 6 could win it.

The media is asking too much of him already mentioning sometimes Beijing 2020.  He isn't even sure if he's going to compete there. His plan some years ago was retire after Pyeongchang but now he says that will continue skating, but didn't mention staying for the whole Olympic cycle.  I think he may skate one or two seasons and then maybe show up at Worlds at another season or something.

Exactly...he’ll be 27 by then and even now BOrser has students like Gogolev who started landing quads at the age of 10...and now at age 13 has quad lutz.

I’m not saying Yuzu won’t be competitive enough to win; barring injury I still think he’ll have a pretty good shot especially with the new rule limiting the number of jumping passes and doing the GOE scale to +5. However, in 2014 a lot of the 2018 top 6 weren’t even on our radar and it’ll be the same by 2022 + many of the youngsters will have a chance to improve their artistry and rack up PCS scores. It won’t be easy to compete with people right at their prime fitness and teenagers who have infinite energy whilst you’re a few years older.

  4. no way. his fanbase is huge and they don't share their votes with his teammates like jonghyun's fans

I hope the lawsuit won't make him untouchable or force him into a an other tense contract to escape the penalty O legal fees. Shit can't be cheap... :(

It'll get someone into the top 9 with that amount wow.

and idk about getting jonghyun-ed, cause there's a lot of xukun fans who only vote for him and he isnt part of a unit/team.

Oh yeah...I forgot how badly the one vote thing will affect company stans. Yuehua are going to get hit hard, I wonder who’ll end up staying in the top 9

  5. Even though the live votes won’t matter that much this time round for the top 5, didn’t someone say that the next time round, it will be hiked up to 1 million votes? That’s massive.

Edit: I kinda feel like Xukun will get Jonghyun-ed, where people won’t vote for him bc they think that he’s safe

  6. I'm watching more behind the scenes footage again and it consistently makes me happy how the program and mentors make sure to reward hard work appropriately, the positive re-enforcement on this show is phenomenal and they are really living up to the show's motto.  Of course happy trainees make for lots of good footage as well so I feel that it's pretty win win.

Watching this show really makes me feel like I'm following BTS lol with the sheer amount of extra behind the scenes clips and side tangents reminiscent of the hundreds of Bangtan Bombs that have been released on youtube.

Same the amount of content makes me so happy even though I have no where near enough time to watch them all

rn I’m dying with the amount of content as well. NCT suddenly decided to go so active this year with the 6 MVs being released plus at least one 1/2-1 hour long Vlive every day + Yuzuru winning the Olys and getting 1 billion documentaries and press conferences. I’m so happy but my exams are creeping round the corner why this year of all years T_T

  7. it's at the end of this month actually. Worlds is from March 21-25 and it's March already.

Omg I forgot that it’s March already, I honestly see it as impossible that he’ll be fully healed by then

you also just reminded me how close exams are warstarplz.png

  8. I doubt Yuzuru’s going to Worlds...his ankle definitely needs to heal and isn’t Worlds like a month away?

I hope he gets as much rest as he can and spends the summer undercover but he probably has like a billion media obligations + ice shows

  9. It is so sad when something like this happens. I'm hoping they can ban together to sue. Looks like Cai Xukun is getting support from his former group mates as well as the public so I'm relieved.

I think there are two boys from Swin who auditioned for Street Dance of China. Just saw this video yesterday and I thought I was seeing things when I saw them labeled as Swin @ 0:21. I didn't watch Super Idol so for someone who did, do you recognize these members? I hope they made it through the first round, but I saw so many amazing dancers on that show in the first episode, it'll be really tough.

I-is that Tao? I haven’t seen him in AGES, but then again I’m not an EXO-L so I don’t actively follow them. Still, I remember Luhan releasing Lu but Tao just fell off my radar.

  10. For more EXs, bc of the OH video post limit,

For more fun and flirty EXs/Ice show ones there are

(the body roll and smirk O.O)
There’s a fancam version of one he does when he’s much younger in a tank top...but I’ll leave you to find that one

These are my 2 fave performances of Hello I Love You. The former has the iconic ‘let’s get him off the ice before Yuzuru loses all his clothes’ whilst the latter has a more experienced Yuzu who KNOWS what he’s doing when he starts stripping off

This is playful Yuzu, with a funny trip. There’s a really cute one that he did after he win World Juniors

There are many more performance but these are my faves

  11. I have to admit that I tend to skip the galas but this time I decided to watch cuz it might be the last time and I’m so glad I did. Can you recommend which performance to watch for the EX programs you listed above?

This is his EX of Requiem from Worlds 2016. This is especially emotional bc afterwards he wrote in his book how he thought this might be the last time he could skate due to the ligament damage in his foot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgQLeHAhkDc

This is FTT at the GPF 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeFyPa6ucm0

I really love his gorgeous flowy sleeves here, especially when he’s skating around

He only performed Final Time Traveler once and that was for Fantasy on Ice 2014. He skated to a live performance by Sarah Alainn (who is a half-Japanese classical pop singer and sang the name of the song he skated to). Requiem was also only performed at 2016 Worlds

he skated to FTT the whole of his 2014-15 season as an EX and also Requiem all 2015-16 season as an EX

Requiem was amazing. He looked so sincere (he always did but even more so during Requiem). He almost cried during the performance. Maybe because it was dedicated for people in Sendai who became victims of tsunami? Really want to see him performing it again.

Yeah, the piece was written to be dedicated to the victims of the earthquake tsunami, and Yuzu also said at that time he thought it was his last skate bc of his injury

  12. Speaking of energy, I noticed his spins when he switched to Orser was slower and less elaborate compared to when he was with Nanami. In the environ of the current point system it didn't really matter cuz he still consistently got level 3 & 4 for this spins. But as a fan I was kinda disappointed. But then I watched the gala and he's still got them. Which comes back to your point about saving energy and the of the craftiness of the TCC. If Yuzuru can get level 4 spins at slower speeds then why waste the energy? This (and other adjustments I'm sure) was how the TCC was able to build up his stamina so we no longer get winded Yuzuru flopping on the ice after his FS. Bravo TCC. And I'm glad he's staying in Toronto.

Yes I loved his spins and all the hand movements and intricate positions but from a competition standpoint it was a pretty big waste of energy without any gain. His gala pieces, bc there’s less jumps, always has more intricate spins as well.

Requiem and Final Time Traveler, as well as Notte Stellata, had gorgeous spins.

I also feel like in the SP he has much more interesting spins compared to with the FS (Chopin vs Seimei, Prince vs H&L). That would backup your argument of saving energy ig, or it could just be Jeff’s genius work, and it makes the programs more interesting imo.

  13. I was wondering where his Biellman spin was in his Seimei FS because when he did Seimei at 2015 Grand Prix and at 2017 Autumn Classic he incorporated it into his choreography but at the Olympics he didn't. His injury shouldn't have prevented him from doing that since all you have to do is stretch your leg high above your head behind you and hold it there for a few seconds, compared to jumps that can take a toll on your ankle.

It could be to preserve energy? The few times when he doesn’t do Biellman’s and replaces them with an A-spin is:

    1. He’s messed up an earlier jump and is going to change the layout to fit more quads in (so YOLOing)

    2. He’s injured

  14. Xiao Gui iQiyi interview (Oct '17)

rough translation by me (it's long so I put it under a spoiler tag)

Talking about his parents being supportive, and being able to do what he enjoys

    @0.50

XG: Before participating in this program (Rap of China), I was a dancer so I was either practising dancing or hanging out with my friends. That life was rather meaningless. I get recognised on the street which makes me very happy, probably happier and more emotional than the people who recognise me.

Interviewer: Would these people try to hug you or kiss you? (t.n: wtf)

XG: I can't really understand their actions, but I guess their intentions are good because they like me. I think I can understand them.

Interviewer: Then would you let them kiss you?

XG: nonono (flustered & stuttering) I haven't met anyone one who wanted to do that...

Interviewer: Then would they call you "my husband" or something like that? (t.n: she's messing with him lmao)

XG: People would, on Weibo. I'm fine with it but my my parents... They check all my Weibo comments and they say stuff like "girls these days are so wild"

    Interviewer: Are they more traditional/conservative?

XG: Yeah, since my dad is in the military so he's very strict. He didn't let me do hip-hop. It was after watching R.O.C. that he understood what I was trying to do. He used to think I was just a delinquent.

Talking about how he gets mistaken for a delinquent because of his style, filming the webdrama, being tired from working etc.

    @3:28

Interviewer: If you were offered a role in a period drama, would you take it?

XG: I will. Wait... really? Let me think about it....

    ...

    ... long pause

    ...

but I really like my dreads, I don't want to cut them off...

Interviewer asks him if there he has a dream movie role and he says Spiderman, because he loved Spiderman ever since he was young. Asks him for his ideal type @3:54 generic "long haired, gentle, good personality" lol. Interviewer teases him about him looking wild (mentions his hair). XG defends his hair saying he doesn't think his hair is wild & it should be easy to accept.

I want to translate the video I have with Xukun's mum if I have the time (basically Xukun's mum visits his dorm and she recognises which bed is his because of the bigass Hu Ba plushie on his bed (Xingjie!!). Talking about missing her son since he's been working so hard and wanting to cook his fave meal. Hint: Xukun really likes spicy food, his fave dish is basically beef and actual chilli peppers smh))

There's a lot of Xukun content untranslated warstarplz.png

Wait is that the one from Super Idol where she embarrassed him by dancing sexily on national TV?

  15. Ahh so that's how the breakdown works. I thought it was the winner of the category each. Thanks

No it is the winner of the category. I probably wasn’t clear sorry.

Basically, the person with the highest audience votes in their group gets 50k votes and then the group with the most votes in their category gets 100k. So 3 people will get 150k votes

  16. Damn I did NOT sign up for this much drama when I started Idol Producer- and I thought it was going to be plain sailing. Well, personally, I’m just going to forget about what’s going on in Chinese social media and enjoy everything at face value.

    My top 5 are:

Cai Xukun- stuck out to me straight away

Fan Chengcheng- this isn’t bc of his sister. Idek who Fan Bingbing is but felt bad for him when he was talking about being compared to her so I hope for him to get his own spotlight through his talents

Zhu Zhengting- ((((first it was the flips)))) I really enjoyed his contemporary dance- shame it wasn’t aired

You Zhangjing- WE NEED A GOOD VOCALIST

Zhu Xungjie- he really impressed me in Dance To The Music and in the Gramarie audition he stuck out to me the most as well. A total natural on stage

Zheng Ruibin- seems really well rounded and I was so happy for him when he got into the A group

I can’t really decide a top 9 until more episodes have come out bc even now idk who half the trainees are. I will say that I’ve had a soft spot for Wang Yilong since the audition round even through he just had reactions but he’ll probably get cut next elimination.

  17. Oh. My. God.

Wtffff Xukun not AGAIN. This boy needs people to make decisions for him because he makes awful ones. First picking PPAP and now going for the rap line + Papillon? Honestly his rapping isn’t bad and his voice is unique but he deffo stands out more with his dancing. These perfs aren’t going to do him justice he’ll drop soon if he keeps making crappy choices.

  18. So, how are we all satisfied with the second set of song list??

  19. I don't think he'll be the main rapper if he does a rap stage. What he needs to do is to have consistently great performances. Peaking too soon is generally not good in survival shows.

Agreed. His rapping isn’t that bad...but some of the trainees ARE rappers, like Xiao Gui, Zhou Xingjie. I’m not sure he can compete for the centre position with them.

Personally I think dancing is his stronger point so I’m hoping he goes for that
