Produce 101 ? Is Produce 101 the new Kpop Star ? I mean, is this an only for girls contest ?? During Kpop Star S1 and S2, 50%-60% were girls. During S5, it's 90%. And this is the second season in a row there's no Band... One need not go far to find the cause. As JYP said, "Since we are men, it'll be effective if you sing a love song to a man." (But surpisingly enough, Jung Jinwoo is a potential winner ^^) I guess it's time for a female judge next season, or it's time to end the show :( Not that I don't like girls and ballads. Quite the contrary, and that's the reason why I will follow this stuff till the end. (That and the fact that the judges are funny at time.) But I prefer diversity for entertainment purpose... Hopefully they will form bands during the next steps. Remember Sparkling Girls last season!

I like this kind of laid back feeling. This track remember me how I felt when I first listened the masterpiece Crazy Diamond, an underground sound too. The beat is pretty slow and her flow is pretty fast. This suits her, or at least this suits my taste Go Queen, Go!!

You talked about "the unfair elimination of the third member of EQ". I was just pointing out that, FOR ME, the elimination of Kim Kiryun wasn't unfair, because Shorties/Han were better. What was unfair was that, as you say, "They wasted saving Brody instead of him". It's different from an "unfair elimination" because they weren't directly competing against each other. And I think I never said that you said Shorties didn't do well... And the "spoiler" thing was here just because my comment was off topic... You may have misunderstood what I said earlier, or I may not have expressed myself very well. I'm sorry about that. My goal wasn't to create any controversy, but to correct one small point. I will try to be more careful next time. Above all, it's not such a big deal. Let's enjoy ourselves the current season

This said, I think we also haven't seen Bernard Park's first round (S3). But I don't care too much because I wasn't too concerned, Kwon Jinah and The Shorties were the real winners

Oh, I just remembered something! Last year, we had not seen the first round of the winner, Katie Kim. It was during the 4th episode that we were able to see this gem for the first time. So! Maybe tomorow will be a great day

Speaking of ALi, I do believe it's not very relevant to talk about singing in tune, vocal range, etc. This may be true for Sohyang (for example), and I must admit I'm quite a neat freak about these things when I'm assessing a vocalist ^^ But I have no words to describe how her voice make me feel. I mean, it's not something measurable. That's the reason why I'm always glad to hear someone who is able to express as precisely as possible the way I feel. Thank you Ager ;-) At least, one thing I could say to summarise my view on ALi's voice, is: If you sing with your voice, we listen with our ears. If you sing with your heart, we listen with our heart.

Here are my 2 cents about the first round. This is a ranking and of course it's totally subjective! STAR LEVEL Jung Jinwoo : His audition was flawless. I particularly loved the arrangement of the song. PRO LEVEL Yoo Jay <3 : Her voice is a gift and it looks like, due to her youth, she's not fully aware of it. And this is her biggest charm! I must confess that my first impression was lukewarm. I immediatly felt her rendering could have been better. Because it was not what I expected? On second thought, I can't explain in what way she could have done better, so I'm in the process of being convince by her talent ^^ Sohn Jiyeon : A pure clean voice, and it will always be a pleasure to listen to her ballads, but I'm afraid she will face difficulties when the judges will ask her to try something else. Wait and see. Hwang Minyoung : Haha, can she continue her work of destabilisation? I liked her artistic reappropriation of "I'm in love" (not in an obvious way but in a subtle way). In the next stages, she could be the one with the most unexpected covers. Lee Soojung : she has her own style. I can feel she knows what suits her, and her confidence allows her to express her feelings in a way she can touch all kind of listeners. CHALLENGERS Woo Yerin <3 : I was charmed by her musical sense. She's good to deliver her story. I'm here for her touching sensibility! But this is not the case for all the judges, I guess... Kim Inhye : A voice full of possibilies : from emotion to vocal power. But it was frustrating because I clearly heard a lack of maturity. Lee Sieun : Maybe the highest vocal range of all the contestants so far. But it was sometimes unstable. Kim Sara : Typically the kind of husky voice that I like. But I'm waiting for some more fitting songs, and then, it could be a big hit! Seo Kyungdeok : Of course, a nice deep voice. But I wasn't so impress, maybe not my cup of tea? Park Minji : ???...I'm not sure about what to think of her. She is the hardest one to evaluate for me. 　 LACKING Kim Youngeun : Clearly not an easy song choice. She has undeniably a nice tone, but her voice was way too unstable. Sophie Han : For some reason, she gave me a baby Yubin feeling (?). Certainly a good Girl Group material ^^' Lee Hyurim :It's not that I flee when she sings, but she's just OK. 　 Brody : Awkward audition... High level of stress for this young girl... I hope for better days to come to her. Park Kakyung <3 : Considering her age, there's a big room for improvement because she has the basics. But for now, she lacks musicality. I will keep an eye on her due to her interesting character

I have seen funny girls bands, but not to that extend. The point is they look so genuine and natural. There is a mix of fun, sincere and gloomy moments that we can share with them. They are all important. I mean, they are not interchangeable, nor can they be confused with each other (guess who I'm looking at ). And it looks like they are all important for the stability/equilibrium of the band. I'm OK with the songs (don't shout at me, I'm quite OK :p), but the truth is I'm addict with their behaviour. I can't believe all this is a play for screen time (guess who I'm looking at ). I need more "butbut" or "Showtime"... All days... All the day...

OK OK OK... so... The highly anticipated cast on the December 26 IS2 Kim Jongseo Son Seungyeon Jung Dongha Hong Kyungmin Huh Gak ALi Sohyang Sure it will be lost in the middle of the year-end TV shows for most of the viewers. Quite the contrary for me : I can't wait

Thank you for your detailed post, Laliloo. This is what I want and love to read. Your taste is not necessarily mine, but it's honest opinion. Aaah I would like to write a similar one, but my English is not so good, and it takes too much time to write a single sentence ^^' Anyway, I'm rather disappointed by this first episode. Not because we have seen only 7 contestants : last year and the year before, there was just one more at this point. But this is the first time since season 2 (since I'm watching this show) that I'm not taken with at least one contestant... Season 2, I was in awe (and still am) with Choi Yegeun and Akmu. Probably the best first episode ever Season 3, the Shorties made my day. Season 4, Free Loop by Hong Chanmi was an angelic delight, and Time Slow Down by Lee Jinah was a big surprise (more than 700 000 views the first day on Naver, I wasn't the only one to be completely mesmerized!! ) I must say that I'm the type to usually enjoy first round, because of the raw feeling: no training, no stage play (or at least fewer, you know what I mean). So it's not the reason why I'm disappointed. I guess it's a matter of taste, and hopefully next time I will be more pleased. Anyway, I'm not saying it was all bad. I will keep an eye on Woo Yerin. Her song was so good, but I confess I'm not fan of her singing. And Jung Jinwoo is a safe bet. On a side note, if I'm not mistaken, I noticed that the first contestant of season 3, 4 and 5 was female singer songwriters ^^ Ad what is funny is that Kim Ah Hyun (S3) was chosen by JYP and YG and wasn't chosen by YHY, but it's the opposite with Hong Chanmi (S4) and Woo Yerin (S5)!! The icing on the cake is that YHY used his wild card for the last 2 . (And the floor was sparkling for Woo Yerin, helping YHY to use his wildcard ? ^^)

Good thing I shared my thoughts ! And happy it helps you too For me, Yezi will forever be the real owner of this track. In the same way, even if I do think KittiB deserves track 8 (On the edge), the ultimate win would have been if Yesi, Hyorin and Yubin also released an official version of this track. This battle was by far the most entertaining moment of this season.
