I like that he considers the hypothetical: is he trying all these different things (singing, dancing, acting) bc he's not good at any one thing? And his response is that he does them bc he likes them all. That's reason enough to pursue them. (Then it goes into the whole "if you're doing what you love everyday..." mantra that you and Pepi both touched on.) Feels like a really honest response. Also feels like an appropriate, thoughtful response to give to critics of ppl who try different fields. "This will be a chance for audience to have a friendly conversation with filmmakers." Hmm like a Q&A panel? That's my best guess. I hope he can make it but the scheduling is still >_< I'm conflicted bc I like both his wild/playful side and his reserved side. To me, the introversion's been good for him creatively. I think we might have gotten glimpses of his contemplative personality even during got7's debut era. Like his "I hope that fans can all live their own great lives" speech seems to come from a lot of introspection. But ia, we didn't really see him talking about it until later, like during SSI era. And then it became more apparent onscreen, like you said, around rg7 s3. But Jinyoung with maknaeline is a gift! I love them together so much

Jinyoung really did train himself to use Seoul dialect full time. He just pulls out the satoori now for effect. I guess it's good to be able to control it but it's a pity that we barely hear it now. I like V app and all, but they need something on tv as a group. And yes! Preferably with friends in the mix. I can see him playing something like that, someone more serious. He's good at roles like Byun Yohan's in Misaeng too: cheeky, playful, with a bit of depth (minus the perviness). He's just so versatile Jinyoung in a college or 20-something role would be nice, even though I get that GOT7's trying to appeal to high schoolers.

Oh good! I'm not the only one who read it that way. I think what you said about him focusing on the process rings true. I think all his smiles, all his expressions of emotions like you said, this "Fly" era give off that feeling that he's definitely enjoying the process of promoting this time around. And that makes me as a fan really happy. Yay to your analyses! Especially since you've read the original. He does often say he wishes to be great at something rather than just decent in a number of things. It's most likely a combination of humility and high expectations for himself... Ok I had to read this a couple times (and look up what a postposition is LOL) but THANK YOU Park Jinyoung for another great interview. First of all, what movie scenario??? Is he saying he's reading more scripts? Bc he just recently picked up that Alain de Botton book. Is this book related to the movie treatment he's received? I need answers! Secondly, this precious baby writes book reports. That he understands how important word-choice is in writing warms my heart. Thirdly, this explains why the To.Star lyrics were so qualitatively different from his Can't lyrics. I need to sue whomever got on his case for writing meaningful lyrics. The whole "doing something enjoyable" vs. "doing something well" is the most difficult part of his interview to understand. The untranslatable question probably adds to the confusion (not the fault of the translator at all ofc). My take on it is that Jinyoung feels there are things he enjoys but doesn't do well (like drawing). But to him, these two things (plus effort) are inextricably linked. If you enjoy something, you'll naturally work hard at it and get better. You shouldn't have to prod yourself to work hard. I'm still puzzling thru his response to the untranslatable question but I think it's getting at his jack-of-all-trades-ness, and he's saying that he's got a problem with the idea of people doing multiple things and not being good at any of them? But once you master something, it's ok to explore other outlets? Idk! Is this what you are all getting from this or are you getting something different? Help a girl out

He definitely has that side of him. Like in the Feel So Goods making-of vid, you can hear that Jinyoung (and Jackson too) has a very strict, no-nonsense side. Sometimes he'll kinda being called the mother of the group, and then months later he'll introduce himself as that again. He's an interesting person XD

I love how we're all collectively suffering at the hands (or exposed stomach/shoulders/thighs?) of Jinyoung. Wow when is Jinyoung going to guest lecture in my modern philosophy class? Dismantling modernist self-other dichotomies in the last few sentences of his interview better than my professor could in a whole lecture haha. Like ihlie said, I'm glad that he always puts so much thought in all his interview responses. Even tho he doesn't have time to go to class anymore, he's still constantly learning and applying it in his own life. Can't wait to read more once the whole thing's translated.
