It is straight up RnB. It is a great song. I am hoping a full rnb album from IU.she has the voice for it.

The whole album has not dropped yet, and until you have heard the album from the first song to the last in order, we won't really know if there is cohesion or a theme. This is just people judging based on hindsight. In her last comeback, she came with Zeze, The Shower, and 23 as her teasers. I do not think it had any cohesion either until we saw the full album. I think Palette being the album name, you can already see what the theme is. I will believe it is not just a bunch of genre songs to showcase her musicality. But it is IU saying this is my "palette", this is how she sees it. So I cannot wait to see her perspective on the 21st.

Hi all, Are there IOI members that have not publicly interacted with another IOI member since their last concert? it seems that they still find themselves together in a guesting or a social media post, but some members like Yeunjung or Doyeon (other than with Yoojung) seem to be left out the interactions lately. Which IOI pair are you most excited about interacting that has not interacted at this point? For me it is Sechung.

is a 5-crown win a legit term by Gaon or invented by Soompi? https://www.soompi.com/2017/04/06/ius-night-achieves-new-milestone-gaon-charts/ And if it is a legit term, who else got a 5-crown win? Thanks!

Hi all! Has there been an rnb song by IU? Off the top of my head I cannot think of any so this release has me piqued. Also her smooth voice will fit the genre well so yeah I am excited for her to tackle this.

Okay IOI barely sustained me through 2015 while IU was in her (musical) hiatus. Now this is her year! She makes me appreciate the beauty of Korean language. I am not sure there is another song that is as smooth as how words flow. The MV as I interpret it is she is now as a grown up lady, and for one night only, she went to her old house where she reminisced her young love that she can't forget. The contrast of her playfulness in the school uniform and the seriousness of her in the red dress shows this to be a sad song, purely because she was not able to send the letter that she now regrets. The feeling of this song is deep.

I believe as the girls prepare make their comebacks and more variety guestings, this thread will be more active. You will suddenly have 8-9 things happening around the same time. They may not be together but it is still satisfying to see their careers progress.

In Gugudan it does not matter what her position is. She already debuted as a soloist so it is moot to have her be a lead vocal. Her position is superstar. Hehe. At the end of the day there will always be one that is most popular in all groups and they do not have to be anything for their group. Actually they probably are not the most talented of anything, but it is the combination of talents that make them stand out.

A lot can happen in 5 years but the best chance of them coming back together is that if all of them becomes successful in the next 5 years. There is a really good chance for that to happen. They are not Sekchies or SES. Somi after 5 years will just be 20/21, too early to be in her prime yet.

Okay I do not see any other group in the horizon that I can follow after IOI. I followed SNSD, and IOI was the second group. I will follow their careers with their own groups, but I think as an IOI fan, I cannot go all in on just one group, so I would be probably be a neutral fan of all groups with IOI members. The reason why I do not think I can follow another group is that IOI was the only group that was created in an organic way. There was no strategy, concept, or anything. It is just the best 11 girls out of 101 and it worked out beautifully. I might just go back to IU. No one else I really follow in Kpop after IU.

I think the 3rd day being the very last performance as IOI will be more shook. They would probably do all songs crying.
-
I was watching their last V Live together and you tend to realize that these are the same girls that debuted with Produce 101 but are now the brightest stars in their own right. It has that all-star feel.

I am still incensed with what happened. It seemed that Melon disregarded them as professional artists. Maybe it is because they won a survival show, will disband soon, are just a project group, or all of the above. Still, it is well known that all artists that attend the MMA will go on to win an award. It is a silly unwritten rule, but I understand it because they value the the time of these artists. So why is IOI the exception here? Clearly they are popular and successful enough to be invited to perform but not "artist" enough to get seats or a well-deserved award? That is just a low blow. I understand the outrage here considering the hard work that have done all year. This is nothing against BP too, I am sure they deserve the award, so the best thing to do is not invite IOI at all and not waste their time. Also it is not like the girls have better things to do after the performance, why not let them finish out the awards program?
-
Can you confirm this? I have been watching the MMA performance for the 7th time already, and I swear they all were teary eyed. Now they could not have been teary eyed at the same time during the performance, unless they were crying beforehand...

Come on Starship. WJSN has 13 members for crying out loud. Your telling me not one of them can't replace Yeunjung's parts?

Wow in a little over 1 week from now the Melon Charts would probably be like 1. Blackpink 2. Twice 3. IOI Has that ever happened? 3 GG on top 3 in Melon?
