IOI girls never cease to amaze. Downpour just had their first year anniversary, and people then were worried where the girls would end up. But now a year later, it looks like you never really know who will get to be most popular because they all are showing their potential that they have since IOI. Now Pinky is becoming big in China! Chungha is having a successful solo comeback Somi just got picked as an international endorser for Reebok Sejeong just won the best Rookie Performance Chayeon is now starring on her own Drama Doyeon is well on her way to be a legitimate model-idol Then you also have the success of the rest of the girls. They are all doing very well.

The moment when fans start singing her song while other artists are on stage is just freaking bold. You rarely come across a song that can be sung in concert by the general audience. I felt that more idols became more starstruck when that happened.

Not sure if mentioned here already. But IOI's Very Very Very cracked the top 100 most viewed KPOP videos of all time... It is amazing for a group that disbanded to still have the momentum to be top 100 after a year!

Hey all! I just want to ask here rather than make a new thread because I specifically want to get our collective thoughts as fans of the first really successful survival girl group. What do you think of the new shows coming out? Are you looking to watch them? I am asking because personally I am in a wait and see approach. Following IOI was perhaps the greatest time for me as a KPOP fan, but it is also exhausting (too many highs and lows in a short period of time), that I feel non-plussed about these new shows. In addition, I am still finding out what these shows are bringing to the table. Because PD101 was a fresh concept in South Korea and that is why right now they have developed a brand of their own in terms of the groups they have launched. Like for example, surely the new MVs of the show are patterned to follow the success of Pick Me. But if these songs do not go viral like Pick me, they are already behind the curve. I am not sure you can throw just money at this or if they can be replicated. But they sure have a light of hype coming.

Yes this is interesting. Although, she might get more recognition once she starts producing for others. I am pretty sure as a producer she is already an equal with the top hitmakers in the country like Sh. Tiger, Teddy, etc.

She’s a chameleon in these concepts an all is done with class! I am calling it. This is her miracle year (Reference to Einstein’s miracle year). I am sure she can top this level of musicality as her career progresses, but this year she really made the jump to another level that I think won’t happen again. This is peak IU.

I feel that Chungha can pull off a Suran or Heize. Hiphop, SMTM, is hot right now in Korea and just getting a collab with A popular SMTM artist can put her in another level digitally. She as the voice for it too.

I was wondering, would Sohye be better with a different agency? I think with her popularity, she could at least have been offered a part in a drama like School 2017, given that most of the casts are rookies.

IU's Palette MV was shown in Engadget's video review of the iPad Pro 10.5'! https://www.engadget.com/2017/06/12/apple-ipad-pro-10-5-review/ The reviewer is a fan.

She will get married. That usually stops female celebs from being a trend in the music industry, since most of them settle down and take a reduced role for a couple of years. by then it will be hard to gather the momentum to have an elite comeback. Ill still be happy when that happens, and if she chooses to retire, songwriting and training young artists is where she will be most happy I think. She can also run for president. =) She has 10-12 more years on top though and after that Immortal Song should line up for a 4 part special on IU. She will have the gravitas of any well respected Korean public figure by then, as someone who became the inspiring voice of the millennial generation in what Koreans usually regard as their lost years too.

Anybody got a link for a CD rip of Palette. Want to hear it in lossless format =) Thanks! Also Palette in 60fps, I think this is one of the few MV's that are much better in 60fps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcUXumwCRBs&t=146s

Yes it will be hard for her to leave Loen. It took a leap of faith for the agency to give IU all the reins. IU was 18 during Last Fantasy where she took part in composing 4 songs for her Album. No agency will give that kind of freedom to an 18 year old even if they are gifted as IU. Without Loen's faith, IU won't be in the position to produce Chat-shire on her own. She was only 23 then. She even extended her contract with Loen, without the signing bonus as a show of loyalty. No one turns down free money willingly given.

A little disappointed to think that this is really the date of them ending rather than last January. There should have been 3 more months...

Yes charts can be interesting. I think if there was another strong release that gets to number 3 in Melon, then definitely streamers will be interested in the new release, but IU's release can get to number 1 because she will get the same volume of unique streamers for the duration of the comeback. But either way, this is just me geeking out! IU has achieved her goal and so I am happy!

IU/GD close to getting back first in Melon. Though I kind expected it already since Palette is back to 1 in iChart.
