I felt like Show really started to get popular like 2009 with Hi My Sweetheart but before that it was Corner with Love and that made him pretty popular too. Basically his career started to take off after he joined GT cuz before 2007 he was with Avex, and then around the time of HMS he started outselling people like Jay Chou etc.. at least in TW. I feel like Elva has been stagnate for a couple of years though. JJ was promoted by Ocean Butterflies which isn't anywhere near as big though. As for music yeah it might freshen things up a bit, but I feel like they both probably have quite a bit of creative control. I'm sure they can choose which producer they want to who to get songs from, although I'm sure the company also offers ideas. Either way i think it's a nice change. I heard GT is a mess right now, or at least a while back with all the changes and the poor Lollipop F members. I didn't realize A-mei and David Tao were with GT though. Or is that only for distribution... idk Taiwan management confuses me haha.

Yeah, I'm not surprised they both r changing companies, both of them released best of albums last year, typically that happens when the singer is leaving. Plus Golden Typhoon had that buying out and foreigner taking over... and apparently it was a very messy time. But I heard Khalil Fong might be signing with them. That being said I don't really think there will be much difference between Sony and Golden Typhoon's resources especially when they are so popular already. I mean sure Sony's a bigger company but in Taiwan Sony, Warner, Golden Typhoon, HIM, Universal...etc are all about the same, that's why artists switch around all the time from one to another depending on who gives a better deal. Although I'm sure both can get more popular, it probably would be because of career moves like Show doing more movies or something.

Okay... whoever wrote this article is terribly misinformed.... Show and Leehom are friends. In 2008, it was Sony that accused Show for buying the chart and Leehom refused to show up at the press conference where all the other Sony artists were because he said that music is important and that he didn't care about the other details. And Leehom's contract with Sony ended in 2011. He's independent and under his own company as most people would know... and Sony only distributes for him...

Out of curiosity, do any Fan Bingbing fans here know what happened to her movie Yang Guifei, the one with Leehom as Li Bai and Oguri Shun? The last I heard, they started filming but stopped cuz the Korean director who did, My Sassy Girl, left/was dropped and replaced by someone. On IMDB it says it's in post production and they finished filming but I don't think I've seen enough still for them to even be done. And I don't feel like searching though chinese websites haha..

The one with Wu Zun and Charlene Choi cuz all I can say about it is that Wu Zun looked very pretty in that movie... haha. The movie itself, I didn't think much of.

I mean I'm pretty sure it is "open" to all. But first they have to actually submit their work and second it's really not a two way door. People from tw promote a ton in china but people from china rarely come to tw. It's starting to open up more though these recent years. I think the really popular Taiwan singer contest "One MIllion Star" helped a lot. A couple years ago instead of making it exclusively tw, they renamed it "mandarin One Million star" (rough translation) and so more chinese rookies entered the industry by signing to Taiwan labels and promote there. Like Huxia who got popular for the You're the Apple in My Eye ost. NaYing and Faye Wong have both won awards, but they are like the most popular names so... --- I have to go but remind me to tell you about some c-indie tv show... I've been wanting to check it out and to show you.
