If you are not comfortable with "you're" you don't have to use it. Just replace it with "you are" it means the same thing. I can see where the confusion comes from as they are both pronounced the same way. Stupid English It would be "sounds" "S" on the end of words, of course, makes them plural no "s" is singular. So when talking about one specific "sound" there would be no "s" but when talking about something general and non specific use "sounds". The sentence "this sounds so stupid" uses "sound" as a verb and isn't implying anything or anyone specific. "You sound so stupid" is correct if you want to be more specific about something. aah that was slightly harder to explain. "you're really nice" is correct. You're = you are. You are really nice your implies ownership ie. your hat, your shoes, your smile
