  1. Moonbyul of Mamamoo is currently participating in Second World, a program designed to showcase vocals of girl group rappers. She's mentioned she's got a new vocal coach these days as well. Wondering what y'all experts think? How would you classify her?
  2. Curious about Oneus's Leedo - is he a baritone? His speaking and rapping voice are so deep but despite being one of the group's more utilized vocalists we never really hear him sing that low (sidenote I kinda wonder if Xion could also be a baritone but his voice is pretty underdeveloped so...). Vids under spoiler
  3. This honestly makes sense with their dynamic, I think. I guess people took Ravn saying he was the "dad" of the group to mean leader, when really it just means... dad.
  4. I'm curious whether RAVN is going to be the leader. That's what would seem to make sense, based on their dynamic, but there were those rumors that it'd be Hwanwoong. I'm surprised that it hasn't been announced yet.
  5. I really, really don't see how it being an actual photo taken outside in the dark from a distance is somehow proof that it's not staged. If they're going for the paparazzi-Dispatch style photo, then of course they're gonna try to imitate how paparazzi photos are taken -- from a distance, with a zoomed in digital camera, and in the dark. That's very easy to imitate. I still think that it's staged and for promotions. It's an easy angle to pretend to kiss at, and there were other photos of them just walking/being coupley, it dovetails with the plot of the music video and I don't think either of them would have been so reckless at that stage of their careers to be kissing in public in an outfit that would be so easily tied to Mamamoo. The point was that it would be revealed to be fake, so it being too taboo is somewhat of a non-issue -- at this point in their career, people still really didn't know who they were so if they wanted people to click on an article and pay attention to the group, hand-holding wouldn't hold nearly as much draw. Anyway, not trying to be a debbie downer, just... putting that out there. They seem really staged to me, pose-wise, and there are other photos from that set in which Moonbyul is driving, despite her not owning a car or having a license then (I believe). There's plenty of reasons to think they might be dating, but that for me really isn't one of them.
  6. This is EVERYTHING I've been hoping for, from the return of retro to the gambling/revenge concept with a splash of noir. I'm so excited! Also hoping for some banging jazzy b-sides cos it's supposed to be a sentimental album.
  7. lmao luna has the same sorta gay energy as anna kendrick if that makes any sense
  8. Honestly I was kinda into the hat with the last outfit she wore it with (the red blouse) -- kinda a 2000s British girl group vibe (idk what specifically I'm thinking of haha there's just something about it) but this is like... Best Jeanist. Plus tiny glasses. Plus the hat. Props to her for pulling it off as well as she does.
  9. I mean.... this was definitely not super straight. It's nice to see them hanging out! Any more details on that club performance? Or info on who that third girl is?
  10. Echo, one of the b-sides off of Oh My Girl's new album, has the lyric "tie up your hair and run" -- is this enough to claim it for the gays or nah? I mean, they could be singing about a long-haired dude or somehow about themselves, but it doesn't make as much sense... Still waiting on translations for two of the tracks, so there could be more lmao we'll see. I'm mostly on the lookout because they've given us the iconic Sixteen and Knock Knock. Roundabout is also maybe that sorta vibe. Either way it's a good pride song. It's not like directly relevant so I'm not gonna link it but all I'm saying is the Remember Me music video has some shots of Mimi driving that had me weak. Edit: here's a link to some gifs of it! Last but not least, the master of the smirk. Click here to view the Tweet
  11. On the topic of hair, does it seem to anyone else like Solar’s hair is really short beneath the extensions? Like the extensions don’t look that well blended because the stray bits of hair are like... bob-length. I wonder if she cut a whole bunch of if off before getting them. I hope it isn’t too damaged (I mean, with that shade of blonde it’d be hard for it not to be) because her hair always looked sooo healthy and shiny and thick when it was dark so it makes me kinda sad. Like if I had to choose a top look for Yong’s hair I’d honestly be split between blonde wavy, pink in a top bun, and brown, but I think how damn healthy her hair looked dark gives it a leg up. Any hairstyles/colors you guys think the girls need to try? I’ve always wanted to see Solar with dark red hair. Burgundy! It’d be cool to see Wheein in something more colorful, because she’s the only one who hasn’t gone with anything really unnatural yet. If any of them got a shade of purple like Irene or Jisoo’s that would be so cool. Purple is the easiest unnatural color to wear. Whose album is next? I hope this mess gets better resolved before they come back ;-;
  12. Alright, what's everyone's best Hwasa look? As we know, I'm a fan of the long black hair -- but the thing is, I'm not sure how much of it is just the hair. I feel like her makeup and tan right now suit her well and the whole look comes together nicely, so that may be giving the long black hair an unfair leg up over its competitors.
  13. Honestly, how will she ever change her hair when the long black Wonder Woman waves suit her sooo well? Like is there any look y'all could think of that would top this? re:everything going on, I'm glad that RBW is finally taking legal measures, but it's concerning that the rumor mill has gone on for so long unhindered that at this point presenting the truth seems like the twist, rather than the misinformation that's been propagated. The problem with both of the issues translated by Pann-Choa is that without context, they really do seem problematic. With context, I don't have a problem with either of them -- but the context is missing from Pann-Choa's translation, which is irresponsible (though it was likely missing from the original post translated as well) and the translation itself is slightly twisted as well. That's what people see first, and it's so much harder to change people's minds when they have a pre-conceived notion both of the situation and of the group than when there's equal representation of the truth from both the sides of fans and other sources as well. When it looks like it's only the fans defending an artist, it seems like it's only bias speaking. It's so frustrating that this is how the whole situation appears, because it really, really isn't us that's twisting a scenario to appear more to their favor. Kind of OT, but I've been into Voltron lately and this is so reminiscent of how I feel as someone who likes Sheith lmaooo (not a hardcore shipper, but I can't help but be into it). It's a ship that isn't problematic in the least but there's been so much misinformation spread that I just don't bring it up if I find someone else who likes the show because it's tiring having to defend something from the get-go when it shouldn't be my responsibility to correct others' misinformation. It's one thing when antis spew bullshit; it's another entirely when bullshit is all that more rational fans or the general public knows. Even when you know you're in the right, it feels like you're swimming against the current. Just exhausting. The kpop fandom may not be quite as toxic and messy as the VLD fandom, but... it ain't too far off. Anyway, I hope if Hwasa is appearing on I Live Alone again that it doesn't turn into a grounds for more people to lambast the girls, and definitely that it doesn't turn into a situation where people use their appreciation for her to put down the other members.
  14. Can someone tell me about Chomi? I just know that they live together and they're individually friends with Moonsun and wanted to invite them over. How sus are they? Any receipts? Honestly would absolutely live for a lesbian couple in Apink as the biggest fuck-you to stereotypes.
  15. yikes @me double-posting but the thread is dead enough that me dumping content is probably better than nothing. Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet ok apparently right as hwasa and byul were Engaging in Lesbianism, wheein was jigglin' solar's tiddies... i love equality. this is like when you're watching one of those lyric line distribution videos and two members have basically all the lines and then in the last minute of the song there's like a long bridge solo or something and it starts to look more fair. so in this simile we have moonsun and wheesa as main/lead vocals, wheebyul as the rapper, and lil misses hwabyul and angel line are the sub-vocalists who just slayed that bridge with their underrated vocal colors. the bridge is egotistic era. the song is called "that gay shit" and it's dominating the charts like i'm pretty sure they've got an all-kill. #1 on grabbing melons, soribada'mgay, and gynie. Click here to view the Tweet also i don't remember if anyone posted this but this happened twice in that video and kim yongsun's eyes were moving with her... subtle. not.
  16. Click here to view the Tweet ooF honestly now that they've kissed on stage once it's like it's fair game any day or something... hwabyul is out to get me this era. this has me feeling things. mamamoo just had a concert so there's lotsa content to go around. our lord and savior moonbyul performed two new solos (see mooncrush's post), the first of which is called mirror. we only have rough lyrics so far for it but in the vcr she makes a suit and wears it and the lyrics are along the same vein as worthless/love and hate (imo probably refer to the same situation). Click here to view the Tweet obviously they're vague enough that they could reference any number of situations, but unrequited love that causes self-hatred is the vibe i get. though that happens to all sorts of people, it's definitely a scenario fairly common to the lgbt experience. in addition, i feel like "mirror" thematically is frequently tied to homosexuality. the lyrics from what i can tell are really like a darker version of love and hate, and the combination of the two paints an uncomfortably relatable picture. anyway, i can't wait to get a clearer lyric translation and a studio version of the song. whether or not it was intended to be read as such, having a song that lgbt fans (of which she has many) can relate to is really nice, even if it's about a more negative part of the experience. ok, let's end on a happy note. two tbts! Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet no matter whether she's one of us or not, her words, music, style, actions, etc. make her so easy to look up to as an lgbt fan (or anyone, really). her voicing undeniably strong support and encouragement for rainbow moomoos is so awesome. came for the talent and suits, stayed for the genuinely amazing person. like jonghyun, she's one of those celebrities that i think really embodies the idea of an "idol."
  17. Hi! I know in the OP it says you guys don't answer questions about non-vocalists -- I wasn't sure if Moonbyul would count bc despite being a rapper she originally trained as a vocalist and recently began taking on vocal parts in their songs as well as singing in her solo tracks and a fair number of covers as well. So I'm putting my query under the spoiler in case it's not relevant to the thread.

  19. Oh wait, the concert teaser involved a painted canvas, this is about drawing -- maybe a concert teaser really is the most likely option. But it seems uncharacteristically... put-together for RBW. Like I can't imagine them renting out a location and putting that set together for a concert teaser, or visiting a local designer or something. Maybe it's a continuation of Moonbyul's hobby-hunt (I say, immediately assuming this level of quality is something Byul would somehow pull together but RBW wouldn't lmaoo). Edit: WHO DID THIS OMG https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonbyul
  20. The note from Haha sounds so much like a fan account haha but it confirms why I'm a fan. As talented and as charismatic as Hwasa is, the thing that makes me most confident she'll last long in the industry is that she's so humble, genuine and hard-working. Her charm extends both on and off of the stage. On a similar note, I finally got around to watching Moonbyul on Sandeul's Starry Night, and it was so clear that they're really good friends. B1A4 was my top group before Mamamoo was, and Sandeul will always be one of my favorite people in k-pop. He's always come off as such a down-to-earth, genuinely good guy. It may sound weird, but I love seeing a friendship between two really nice people. I remember a previous radio interview when Byul said that he was the friend she turned to for advice, and it makes a lot of sense. Anyway, them joking around, teasing each other, Byul hitting Sandeul -- I wanna see the two of them together again! And hopefully a more complete 92 club appearance. So far we've seen the most interactions between her and Sandeul, followed by her and Hani, but for Jin and Ken we don't have much. I wonder what the Moonbyul drawing thing is for -- my first thought was that it reminded me of the IDOT teasers. It's obviously a set or something similar (like... that's a quill pen), so I'm curious if it's for a variety show. Anyone heard of any shows that involve fashion/design?
  21. This is so powerful, she looks so good! Imo the long hair makes this look even more charismatic, but out of curiosity I edited it shorter. also, re: Moonbyul/Krystal secret unnie in theory it sounds amazing but i feel like it could end up kinda awkward irl. Neither of them has a super outgoing personality so I could see the knowledge that Moonbyul is a big fan and that the fans laugh about Krystal being her ideal type could be a block to them getting closer, because Krystal knows next to nothing about Byul and Byul is very familiar with her celebrity image.
  22. omg new otp, mystery crosswalk light girls! we stan vienna lgbt friendly QUEEN hope they're not queerbaiting us ;'((
  23. I watched Let's Eat Together... I really appreciate how natural the girls seem. Neither of them seems to interact with others with pretense. Especially Hwasa -- I really kind of hope she goes back and visits that couple again. The atmosphere there was so nice! It was really disappointing how Lee Kyung Kyu just plopped his butt down while Solar started helping the hosts. Like she was actively trying to be a good guest and he just left the work to her and forgot she existed. I hope we get to see Wheebyul on more varieties too! I know Wheein is really shy around strangers, so solo variety appearances are probably not her sort of thing but if she guested with Hwasa together on something where they could talk about their friendship, that would be really neat.
