Suddenly I'm falling sick on Friday and can't make it to work.

Nobody cares about desi culture being appropriated. We Indians apparently aren't sensitive
Very true.

Ooooo...I like this!
-
Are fans really doing shit like this or is it just people pretending to be fans? Because this is just messed up.
-
oh damn...
-
Any other company would have filmed that first MV and called it a day but not Big Hit.

Epic stuff!
-
Oh, wow, that was great!

Oh, we are back?!

Let them fuss; a statement was needed.

History talk in the spoiler, everyone might not be interested/comfortable with it so...I am putting some things in spoiler. Things which have been affecting me since I read about tensions between the two countries. It's just about history, don't read it, it's just me spilling my heart out here. Let me know if I should remove this.
Initially, when I read people saying that Koreans will not be happy if BTS apologized to Japan, I wondered what has instilled this level of hatred in them? I mean, I am an Indian and we were ruled by Britishers for around 200 years. But even we don't hate them the way Koreans hate Japanese government. So, I read the other side of the story and dug into the history. The result? I am horrified beyond belief. Comfort women, unit 731, rape of Nanking etc. - why wasn't I taught about these in my history lessons?
I couldn't sleep for about 3 days. This part of history has affected me to the core, since the culprits have shrines erected for them. It's like having shrines for Nazi war criminals. In addition to that, Japan's denial of these events has just lowered my respect for them. After going through sleepless nights, I have decided not to dwell about it anymore. However, now I know where Koreans' sentiments are coming from. This event has just opened the can of worms that Japan tried so hard to hide (manipulating history books!), which are now been read and viewed by millions of people around the world.
I watched this movie called Battleship Island a couple of months ago (it was about a bunch of people trying to prison break from a forced labour camp back when Japan had occupied Korea). I was intrigued so I went ahead to read more about Korea-Japan during the war and I had the exact same reaction as you. Literally. Reading about some of the atrocities (all the ones you mentioned plus the Death March) was too much. You are right, our textbooks didn't have any mention of this here in India so I wasn't anticipating it. I remember crying myself to sleep, out of sheer frustration. Because a lot of countries did horrible things during the war but atleast their people owned up to it, unlike Japan. Like for eg: They tried to downplay the Rape of Nanking after it happened even though the whole thing was in Japanese newspapers, literally, as if it was an achievement. Heck, there is a section in the paper where two soldiers held a competition to see which one killed more people/reached 100 killings. :/
On a much smaller scale but can you imagine if the Britishers tried to deny...say the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre? Our country would flip the fuck out.
So yeah, the tensions between the two countries made so much more sense, it wasn't some stupid kindergarten politics that I thought it was.
Also, even as a third party, I haven't been able to make peace with the situation, (can't even imagine the Koreans,) if you have, please let me know how.-

Sometimes it is not about doing the right thing, it's about doing the smart thing. That's what they did.

How adversely do you guys think this would affect their Japanese promotions in the future? Because I don't think Big Hit is gonna release the song now. (And if they can release it without further escalating the issue then hats off to them, man.)
Are J-Army's okay if the song isn't released?
Really thought this would blow over. Had forgotten how
destructivepowerful fandoms can be. -
The second episode starts off funny and then just :''(

What I am doing instead is donating some money for that fan project where US fans will buy and gift the single on iTunes to other fans so it can chart on Hot100 since it is tha main goal.
Hey, do you mind linking me to this itunes project, tried looking but couldn't find it. I wish to donate as well.

That's actually pretty cool.OT:
I was in Lancaster this weekend and kept walking by pianos randomly on the street. I had to play, of course. There were a lot of people playing as we walked around. Anyway, I looked it up and apparently it's a project from Music For Everyone (a local organization), every summer they have pianos painted by local artists and placed on sidewalks for anyone to play. They're there 24/7 for the entire summer. I just think this is a really beautiful project. It made such a nice atmosphere in the city.
this would never work in my city, im jealous. ;_;_______________________________________
