Yixing is going to be on Cosmopolitian? The Photographer told Yixing to give him some different poses, so he started freestyle dancing The above pics are all from photographer's weibo.

Wow I just noticed this! Wang Zhong Lei and Yixing followed each other on Weibo Wang is the founder and president of Huayi Brothers Media Co. It's China's biggest film production company. Huayi Brothers is the producer of Ex-File 2. Its leading actor Zheng Kai is from this company as well.

Yixing buying Starbucks. Again. via @Espresso_ via leeky via @Bestls_Ayu I don't know what he heard on the phone, he seems so shocked via @_蛋甜甜甜甜甜 A stranger wants to shake Yixing's hand, so he reaches out Congrats on Ex-File 2 box office again Kris congratulated as well. He's good friends with Amber Guo. "Am I among the 100 million (contributors)? Hahahahaha. 'Maybe I'm just your spare tyre, but I would still love you and let you lean on me'. Sing it with me!" It's a line from Kris' new song "bad girl". Kray fans have gone mad. Many people are saying that there were some Kris fans bashing Yixing in the hot comment area, but Kris deleted those comments. (I didn't see what the hot comment area was like before, so I don't know if this is true or not. Now it's filled with Kray fans and exo ot12 fans.)

Lao Jiu Men were 9 characters from DMBJ (a series of 9 books). DMBJ left many mysteries unsolved in the ending, so NPSS started writing <Lao Jiu Men> recently, as the prequel to DMBJ. He is one of the producers of the web drama, and is also working on the script ( so I wouldn't worry too much about the drama being "digressed" from the original novel series). The official art and character description of Er Yue Hong we see in this thread are from ä¹é—¨å¼‚闻录 (The Curious Anecdotes of Jiu Men), a painting collection published by NPSS in 2013. Your English is great, don't worry
-
Oh I need to clarify one thing, "the most affectionate character by NPSS", it's said by my friend, meaning "the most affectionate character written by NPSS", not a quote from NPSS! Sorry about the confusion! If you're interested in the scary side of DMBJ, here's some more fan art for you ç¦å©† Jin Po Lives in water, naked all the time, suffocates people by her long hair, no eyeballs in her eyepit. The origin of Jin Po is actually very sad, she was raped and then threw into water. Her hatred kept her body from rotting, and now she seduces men and kills them. Some archaeologists also turned into Jin Po after being fed a specific kind of drug. ç²½å Zong Zi Decades/hundreds/or even thousand years' old of bodies that are still well-maintained (kind of like mummies). Zong Zi itself actually means "rice dumpling", a traditional food made with rice, stuffed with meat/sweet dates/eggs, wrapped in a specific kind of leaf that adds flavor and aroma. In DMBJ, coming across Zong Zi means BIG TROUBLE. They are one of the most malevolent, deadly creature in the under world. 肉粽å (meat Zong Zi) refers to those that carried valuable jewelry/antiques with them. The hoot of black donkeys could be used against Zong Zi. Real Zong Zi Zong Zi in DMBJ 海猴å Hai Hou Zi/Sea Monkey Powerful and quick (enough to dodge bullets). Attack ships and eats the insides of men who fall into water. Covered in scale. Its head is about 4 times bigger than that of a human being. 尸鳖 Shi Bie/Dead body turtle Can live without water for hundreds of years. Love to squeeze into dead bodies and eat from within. During breeding season, it would also squeeze into the body of living human beings. What really scares the shit out of me was one character, Lao Yang.

Hi Nikki! I'm new to this thread so probably we've never met before. You can call me TB! Er Yue Hong is such a complex character with many sides and interesting transitions. Think about all the other roles Yixing has playing: Ex-files 2, a celebrity; oh my baby, a cute warm guy; to be a better man, a young and clueless apprentice (we don't know much about the Jackie Chen movie yet)... All these characters have part of Yixing in them. But Er Yue Hong is SO DIFFERENT. It's going to be a challenge for Yixing, and I hope this experience will bring out new sides of him from deep within. Now Er Yue Hong Er Yue Hong Er Yue Hong dae is going to stuck in my mind too Wow this is such an awesome detailed introduction of EYH!!! Elaysium is amazing!!!

I didn't finish reading the whole series because gosh it was getting TOO SCARY for me DMBJ is a horror/adventure/fantasy series of badass men searching tombs for antiques, facing mysterious and sometimes creepy creatures underground, but those are just least of their worries. The inference/reasoning part of this series is amazing. Fandom is crazy about DMBJ (I would say it's definitely one of the most popular and profitable IPs of China's contemporary novels, sold over 20 million copies), they are still arguing about how to interpret the endings (many come up with theories of five-dimension or some philosophical interpretations), create a whole lot of fan fictions/ fan art, and even organized trips to Changbai Mountain in memory of one character. I think EYH was only briefly mentioned a couple of times in DMBJ (but correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't finish the series), since he is from a different generation than the main characters. The novel author is going to be the one of the producers for the web drama, and is also working on the script. So I think there is a lot more to expect! And from my friend who knows more about EYH than me, he is "the most affectionate character written by NPSS, super badass and charming". And as far as I know, DMBJ hasn't been translated into English. I'll keep you guys posted once I find out more about Lao Jiu Men / Er Yue Hong All members of Lao Jiu Men: Yixing is the second one, Williams Chen is the first one. There are rumors that Zhang Junning is going to be the leading actress (She was in Fan Bingbing's Empress of China and I really adore her! Hope rumor's true.) This is how EYH met his future wife: More fan art

I've been anticipating the announcement of Lao Jiu Men for so long! Yixing has been rumored to play Er Yue Hong for quite some time, and things got real when he suddenly followed Nan Pai San Shu (the novel author) on weibo on Oct.20, and the author quickly followed back If you're curious about who Er Yue Hong is... (btw these are all official art for the novel) cr @叿¡‘ First I need to tell you guys a little bit about <Dao Mu Bi Ji>. DMBJ is one of China's most popular contemporary novels, the title literally means Grave Robbers' Chronicles. DMBJ has already been made into a web drama, starring Li Yifeng and Yang Yang, produced by Leshi (which is also going to produce Lao Jiu Men). DMBJ is also being adopted into a movie, starring Luhan and Jingboran. The main characters of DMBJ are Xiao Ge, Wu Xie, Pang Zi, Jie Yu Hua, etc. Yixing's role, Er Yue Hong, taught Jie Yu Hua how to sing opera. <Lao Jiu Men> are characters from DMBJ, the nine grave robbers of Changsha. I think the author is also writing a prequel to DMBJ, focusing on Lao Jiu Men. Isn't it an amusing coincidence that Yixing is also the prince of changsha~ About Yixing's character, Er Yue Hong: Er Yuehong is ranked no.2 among Lao Jiu Men, he's kind of a famous opera singer from Changsha and his role is æ—¦(Dan). Dan refers to female roles in operas, but typically played by men. [i think this is why Yixing said before that he is going to take the challenge of cross-dressing.] EYH not only sings beautifully, but is also very good-looking. He has affairs with many women, sings during the day, and robs graves at night. What made EYH famous was that he saved a poor young girl who was being sold to be a prostitute. This girl was the daughter of noodle eatery that he used to visit. The girl later married EYH and they had 3 sons, but she passed away at the age of 32 due to sickness. EYH never married again, and lived to the age of 102. When he died, his tomb was put down alongside the tomb of his wife. PS, many fans of the novel also ship Zhang Qishan (the character played by Hong Kong actor Williams Chen) & Er Yue Hong. Here are some fan art.

Hi laymerence, welcome to thread! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me on Yixing's lyrics. I guess it all comes down to personal preference, that emotional and straight-forward lyrics speak more to you Just to make it clearer, I was not trying to say that Yixing's lyrics must have gorgeous vocab / philosophical or historical tones... These are not a must to compose beautiful lyrics, and plain words can also speak to one's heart. Say Fayne Wong's lyrics, she has so many ways to say "I love you": “有生之年ç‹è·¯ç›¸é€¢ï¼Œç»ˆä¸èƒ½å¹¸å…â€ï¼Œâ€œç”Ÿå¹³æˆ‘第一次放下矜æŒâ€ï¼Œâ€œä½ 的衣裳我今天在穿,未能留ä½ä½ å´ä»ç„¶æ¸©æš–â€... These are not exquisitely worded, but really beautiful and touching. I was hoping for Yixing to come up with lyrics that will stuck in your mind even when you're not listening to it, just like the melody he composes. Haha maybe I was being too harsh

I wasn't sure if I translated the song names accurately... so here are the links! , hope you'll enjoy them I have high expectation for Yixing to compose songs that will touch the heart of public in the future. I was amazed by Promise & I'm Lay, they are so different music styles, yet both so good! However, one problem I do think Yixing has currently is that he does not write very good lyrics. The message he tries to deliver is emotional and pure, but the wording... is just kind of childish. I was hoping that Yixing will have the time to read some beautifully written novels/poems (but he is always so busy, and I want him to have time to rest too), or maybe he could collaborate with some lyric writers. I don't know if you've heard about both Jay Chou and Fang Wenshan. In my opinion, Jay was with no doubt the best and the most popular singer of Mandarine market in the past 15 years. He and Fang Wenshan are a golden couple, Jay composes, and Fang writes beautiful, poetic lyrics. They together created the music genre of modern classical Chinese, in which you have classical lyrics and modern music style. I'm truly grateful for Go Fighting crew and all the geges who have been taking care of and educating Yixing! To be frank, I started watching Go Fighting for the sake of Huang Bo and Sun Honglei, they are truly talented actors with many amazing movies/dramas. Then I couldn't help but fall for our little sheep I'm also very excited about To Be a Better Man. In my opinion, having a small role in a good drama is a much more valuable experience than being the leading role in a mediocre drama. Sun Honglei played the leading roles in some of the VERY BEST Chinese drama in the past 10 years (such as Lurk), so I have high hope for the quality of this drama. Sun has always been a good teacher when acting with young actor/actress. The leading actress Yao Chen in Lurk said Sun was harsh and perfectionist on the set, which helped her improve tremendously with her acting skills. And if you recall the ending of one episode of Go Fighting when Sun had to shoot Yixing, he immersed into the role quickly, delivered the performance naturally, and helped Yixing feel the atmosphere. The leading actor/actress of Oh My Baby and Ex-File 2 are more or less considered as popular fresh meat (maybe except for Zheng Kai, he has played decently in several movies before), and the box office of these movies depend largely on fans. As Yixing says, he wants to be a well-rounded artist, so he must work on his acting skills to gain recognition from the public, instead of only relying on fans' support. It's a long way to go, and I'm really grateful that he has those nice geges to guide him.
-
Oh he did say something! He said "say hello for me to that someone!" Xingmis are all guessing who that someone is. Is there indeed someone, or is Guo just teasing Yixing and returning the favor.
-
Well I haven't seen him yet. Yixing was spotted at Beijing Capital Airport a while ago. Some fans at the airport said that he is going home. So I don't think he is attending.
-
Red Carpet is over. Not many big names attended (or they might have skipped the carpet?) Attendees include: Kim Hee-sun, Zhang Han, Wang Likun, Wu Jing, Xie Nan, Ma Ke, Wu Zun, Hong Jinbao. Yang Mi won an influential movie award but she was not there to accept it. Kim won charm award. Zhang Han won most popular actor. I heard that Kris is coming but I havent seen him yet. News: Yixing will be singing national anthem in Changsha at the World Cup tryout contest on Nov 12th, when China soccer team and Bhutan team compete for Asia's top 40.

Yet as for how the general Chinese market is going to react to a cheerful OST... My personal opinion is that emotional or even sad songs have a larger market, and will be around for a longer time. Let me mention some of the most popular movie OST in the past 5 years: Painting Heart by Jane Zhang for movie Painted Skin, Fleet of Time by Faye Wong for movie Fleet of Time, The Continent by G.E.M for the movie The Continent, Time Boiled Rain (the original version) by Yu Kewei for Tiny Times... All of them are sad songs. Going back more into Chinese movie history, some of the most celebrated OSTs: A Love Before Time by Coco Lee for the Oscar-winning Crounching Tiger Hidden Dragon; How Can You Allow Me to Be in Sorrow for Lan Yu, one of China's best gay movies; the 365 Days of Missing You by Coco Lee for Bao Lian Deng; Ju Hua Tai by Jay Chow for Curse of the Golden Flower; Beautiful Legend by Sun Nan & Han Hong for Jackie Chen's movie Legend... Again, all sentimental songs. But are there any cheerful and rhythmical OST that became popular? One example I can come up with now is Little Apple, but this song went viral for its kinda ridiculous lyrics and funny music video (think about Rebecca Black's Friday, or Gangnam Style). This certainly is not the case for Yixing's new song. So overall my personal opinion is that Yixing's new song is not very likely to be a big hit. It's a nice song, suits the movie, fans and hopefully movie-goers will love it. I wouldn't hope for too much more. PS, I try to add the above part to my previous post by using "edit" but it's not responding... Anyone who had this problem? Chen Xuedong: Zhang Yixing, you've become a bad boy~ Why Chen calls Yixing a bad boy: Guo Jingming is the executive producer of Oh My Baby. He was also the director of Tiny Times, with leading stars Yang Mi and Chen Xuedong. Ever since then there has been ongoing rumors of these two dating. They even joked about this "affair" on weibo a couple of times. Guo Jingming has been rumored to be gay for many years, I don't recall him officially acknowledging or denying it. He has written about gay lovers in his novels, and there was also a subtle "couple" in his movie Tiny Times. No matter what his sexuality is, let's just say he has always been an LGBT supporter. Anyway he and Chen Xuedong are really really close friends. Guo is also directing a new movie called L.O.R.D, starring Fan Bingbing, Yang Mi, Kris, and Chen Xuedong (again). Regarding singing nude: Chen Xuedong said that he and Yixing lived in two buildings across from each other, with huge windows. He can often see Yixing singing, shirtless. It's super cheerful and cute and flatters Yixing's innocent voice. Most comments I'm seeing is that it's "brainwashing", you start humming along after listening to half of the song! When SMG Liyong (the majordomo of Dongfangweishi, the channel that showed Go Fighting; CEO of Shanghai otv media co., a subsidiary company of SMG) posted this song in his weibo account, he called this song "喜脑", which sounds the same as "洗脑"(brainwashing), and 喜 means cheerful, so it's cheerful and brainwashing. In the comments section, many Xingmis are thanking Liyong for liking Yixing and always promoting his new works. Liyong also congrated on Yixing when he performed at NBA halftime, he posted a picture of Yixing's performance, saying that it was a pity he couldn't be there to watch it himself. I'm really happy that Yixing is in good relationship with Go Fighting crew & Dongfangweishi. Dongfangweishi is one of the biggest local channels in China (maybe not as big as Hunanweishi, the channel that showed Happy Camp, but debatably the second biggest), it has its own new year eve celebration show, and many other good entertainment shows. I'm really happy for Yixing for having such a close relationship with Liyong. Many fans are also hoping for Yixing to write the theme song for Go Fighting movie(which I believe is possible).

Hi Little Secretary! Yes as fans we'll support Yixing no matter what. I feel really sorry for those Japanese Xingmis who have been anticipating to see Yixing http://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MjM5MTE1ODI2MA==&mid=400240887&idx=1&sn=f0e9c04495f013b918b235c75015df5b&scene=0#wechat_redirect @Nandu Entertainment: When Nandu first heard about the Nov.11th evening party, and that it's going to be hosted at the Cube (the Cube is the Beijing National Aquatics Center, originally built for 2008 Olympics), we got so excited! Director Feng Xiaogang, would you like to consider getting all these handsome attendees wet? That's the way to get the party started! The attendees include Yixing, Ning Zetao (freestyle swimmer who broke Asian records), Wang Kai, Jiang Jinfu (both are popular young actors), Hua Chenyu (singer/composer). Click on the above link, Nandu suggests that Yixing should use his clueless face and natural cuteness to sell products at the event. BTW could anyone tell me how to "hide" some of the pictures in a post? I don't want to spam!

I would like to apologize if my previous post has offended Xingmis who have been with him for years and always loved him as an idol. It must feel terrible to see him being treated unfairly. My feelings of Yixing being an idol, to be frank, are mixed. From my limited knowledge of kpop idols, the longevity of their career is shorter, or at least the peak period is shorter, when compared with actors. Yes, there are those who manage to have successful solo singing careers, or break into serious acting (kudos to them!), but this is not the usual case for idols. We've seen many previously popular idols lose their fans after military service, and the chance of regaining popularity is not very high. Exo members have all started doing solo work (maybe except for Sehun, but he is the youngest, and has more years left before military service), and I have high hopes for D.O in acting and Chen in singing. I really wish that all exo members are well-prepared when senior members start going into military service. As for "at the end of the day, he will be a k-pop idol", my personal opinion is no. Yixing has said many times he wants to be an all-rounded artist, and is very excited about his ongoing acting career. I just don't see him to still be an idol in, say, 10 years. In fact I don't see any exo member to still be only a k-pop idol in 10 years. It's nice talking with you all, and I want to say sorry ahead of time, if any of you finds my post to be offensive/trolling.

I'm new to kpop, and from my own experience with Chinese fandoms/non-fans, I hate to say this but kpop does not have a very good reputation among the general Chinese public. This is mostly because of irrational behavior of some crazy Chinese kpop fans (several violence incidents, including fans beating police who try to maintain the order at events/ fans assaulting Wu Jing, a 41-year old actor who answered to journalist that he does not know who exo is/ fans cyber-bullying a 13-year non-fan girl, who gets the chance to meet with exo and then post a picture with them online/ self-abusing fans, who cut out the word "exo" on their arms... ) As a result, kpop fans are perceived as more immature, irrational, and subjective by the public. Such prejudice against kpop fans even rises to their idols. Go to any music/gossip forum that is not exclusive to kpop, you see people dissing kpop idols all the time. People don't bother to learn about how kpop idols are like, and just assume that "like (some extreme fans), like idols". It's worst on sports forums. During the first few episodes of Go Fighting, Yixing was horribly bashed on Hupu, the biggest sports forum in China. Sports fans call him fake/stupid/sissy for whatever he does, simply out of their prejudice against kpop idosl. But as more episodes show, people start to see Yixing as the humble, hard-working, well-mannered person that he really is. Huang Bo and Sun Honglei are really award-winning, well-respected household names in China (especially Huang Bo, he has played leading roles in movies with a total box office of 4 billion rmb), and their high praise of Yixing/supporting Yixing by going to exo concert, really helps change public perception of Yixing. Many sport fans on Hupu have said that because of Yixing, they're starting to change the way they see exo, that they're just a group of good-looking, hard-working idols with some irrational fans. When Yixing performed during NBA half-time, it was heatedly discussed and acclaimed on Hupu. You still see threads of people anticipating Go Fighting season 2 these days, and almost all of them say they can't wait for little sheep to return. What I'm trying to say here is that Yixing has a nice public image in China, beyond kpop fans. A great percentage of his fans, like me, fall for him because of a variety show. Some of them, like me, get interested in kpop and become a exo-l, but a great many of them are not and probably never will (this is simply out of music preference). I myself am a die-hard fan of Russian model Daria Strokous, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Kanye West, and many friends of mine are also their fans. They watched Go Fighting, fell for little sheep, but they will never be his music fan, instead they're most excited about Yixing's movies and the next season of Go Fighting. Compared with some other kpop idols, it seems to me that Yixing has more senior fans (just like in the auntie loves you video) and male fans. Yixing in China is perceived much more than a kpop idol. Missing the japan tour is a loss, but the majority of Chinese fans, from what I've perceived, couldn't care less. They are like "oh Yixing has little screen time in LMR, oh Yixing gets cut out of the cf, oh Yixing misses the tour, that's a pity... now let's go back to promoting Yixing's movies/buying more books/fangirling over MYM."
