  1. There has still been no formal update regarding a verdict or sentencing. We're still waiting on that front.

I came across this post randomly on Twitter yesterday. I hadn't been looking for anything so it must be trending amongst Meigeni.

Take this information with a grain of salt, as I cannot verify if it actually comes from an accomplice of DMZ, nor can I verify the authenticity of the claims. I'm simply including it as a possible truth as I have with everything up until now.

Will continue to wait for official information as it relates to Kris' sentence.

  2. Out of sheer curiosity, since it's Awards Season, does anyone actively want to update Luhan's badge and change it to something more recent? :imstupid:

Or are we fine with his current one? Personally I'm fine with it but if people want a change, I won't stand in the way of it. But let me know since I'd have to make the thread and we'd have to come up with suggestions. Otherwise, it'll be kept the same.~

I don't know if you are fully informed, but the change of members has already taken place, in fact the new members are Gabi (from Brazil) and Sriya (from India). they are quite good but i still think that this group needs to have one more korean member with a strong vocal skills....only youngheun isn't enough in a six members group...

Yes, I was aware about the new members, but I was specifically referring to a strong vocalist, like you said. DR needs to stop trying to rely on shoving 80 foreign members into a group for attention and make sure they can all sing better than average. None of them are bad vocally but none of them are amazing either and it doesn't help that the native Koreans are less than the foreign members.

  4. It's been pretty quiet, so I'm not surprised they've started pushing a "comeback preparations" right about now. I guess we can only hope it happens this year and there are no member losses or sudden lineup changes unless it's to actually maybe add a new vocalist.

The girls aren't terrible vocally, but it's clear that they could really use a strong vocalist if they seriously want to last a while longer.

@Tteona Oneul Bame @Trixbox hey guys, how do you feel about updating the babymetal badges?

    https://onehallyu.com/index.php?&app=awards&module=awards&controller=awards&do=awarded&id=6849&page=2

tagging you cause you're the only badge holders that have been active recently... if u agree i could make a badge voting thread to update them through the awards season

I guess we probably should, they're super outdated.

  6. I mean most "gay fanservice" is just idols being idols. Korea is more skinshippy than probably most I-Fans are used to so any instance of women touching women or men touching men is seen as "gay fanservice" when it honestly isn't anything all that out of the ordinary by Korean standards.

To answer the question, tho, I don't care one way or the other.

  7. I've been slow on the updates for developments. I'd been checking around for a while but it had been so quiet, I was waiting for anything big to pop up~

If you're only here for the TL;DR, basically, there has been neither an innocent or guilty verdict made public at this time.

    Now for the actual updates:

The first thing is that DMZ apparently admitted that Kris did not sleep with any minors.

Kris pretty adamantly denied any minors being at the party, so if this article is to be believed, then that much seems to be true at the least. DMZ herself was not a minor, as the age of consent in China is 14 and she was 17.

This article does raise some questions as to what, if anything, in DMZ's claims are true, if she really admitted herself that he didn't sleep with any minors.

According to this article, though, he is soon to be sentenced.

The crime, as of now, seems to be having slept with DMZ when she was intoxicated, which would be a rape charge (assuming no form of consent was provided during this incident).

"In China, the crime of rape normally incurs a sentence of between three and ten years in prison. In particularly egregious cases, as well as instances of statutory rape, the sentence can run to life imprisonment or even the death penalty. China’s age of consent is 14."

Additionally, he could be charged for "Group licentiousness". According to the article: "Group licentiousness, defined as sex involving three or more participants over the age of 16, carries a jail sentence of up to five years."

This one seems to be questionable, as, again, DMZ apparently admitted that there were no minors involved. This doesn't necessarily mean there weren't other women involved, though. Just that they weren't underage.

As of now, a reminder that there has been no official public verdict and DMZ is at least somewhat questionable as a reliable source of facts. That said, Kris can't have been detained for this long if he didn't do something. The chances of him getting off are minimal to non-existent, as Chinese courts rarely go without a conviction, according to the article. He's likely going to jail for something. Whether that ends up being the rape of DMZ remains to be seen, but it's unlikely that it will be rape of minors.

For now, all we can do is wait to see how he will be sentenced. As the OP, I will refrain from making any judgements until the case is finalized.
