Hi I'm back again! I have a new sig! I really can't decide on a fixed Ikon bias yet. But all of them are awesome. I'm excited for IkonTV. I came round during LS era but I really love their Bling2x and Bday era. Dancekon is love. YunChan is love. Angel Dong is love. Koo Junhoe is a gorgeous hot mess and is love. Jinan Hyung + Double B---the original 3--pillars of the group, is love. I don't think I can contribute any updates but I hope you don't mind if I post some random fangirl stuff here now and then... Yes, I'm from PH. Dara, definitely. Even I became a kpop fan because I looked her up once. There are many daragon shippers here in PH. But GD's popularity is not due to daragon shippers. I like Dara enough, but many people who know who Dara is are not even fans of her, like me. Many people here still know her but she barely has any activities here tbh. She's not that trendy(?) here anymore. So I don't know exactly how GD's popularity is due to daragon shippers. I think Dara is genuinely nice and I believe that sometimes people are unnecessarily harsh towards her but I'm not a fan and I wouldn't go to any event (concert, fanmeet, etc) for her. I would for GD tho. I believe the same is true for GD's fanbase here; nothing to back this up tho. But I seriously don't see how GD's popularity (w/r to concert-goers) can be attributed to daragon shippers just because Dara is more known to the public...

Ballad/ slow songs/ RnB aren't my cup of tea so my opinions might not amount to much but this is what I think of YB's songs: Overall, I think we would be hard-pressed to find anyone who will call this a bad album. For me, it is a well-produced album. The genre isn't my cup of tea but they are good-to-perfect songs. ------- About GD's individual fans: -------- ENL wasn't my cup of tea either but I am not surprised that it did well. It has epicness to it. The piano, the layers. There is also progress(? I don't know how to call it) in the song where it starts mild with the soft piano and mild singing and it builds up in the middle and the build up did not disappoint because the climax at the end where YB raises his voice and the music complements leaves the listener satisfied after listening to the song. It has strong recall too because the verse in the chorus is very memorable. I don't recall ENL's initial chart performance. Someone mentioned it didn't perform well at first.. When did it take off? During FanDuo? edit: If ENL had low initial response and took off after some time, then I still have hopes for YB's songs. Because I think some of the songs might actually compare to ENL if given the right exposure. I'm seeing Tonight as a great song for the public. But the songs most likely to be promoted are the title tracks of course so I'm hoping Wake Me up would take off instead.

Akgae is one who only likes one member and hates the other members. MOTTE is disagreeing with some fans, I don't see him/ her hating on YB. Wrongfully accusing someone of being akgae is as bad as wrongfully accusing someone of having fake concern. And why are some of yall even too allergic with discussion? We don't have to be all sunshine and unicorn in here. We're all old enough. We're all supposed to be capable of holding civil discussions at this point, whether it involves agreements or disagreements. How can we even say we respect others' opinions if we aren't even patient enough to listen to others' opinions?

In numbers, GD did stellar in his comeback, it even exceeded a LOT of expectations. In impact, his cb didn't make much waves because it was overshadowed by issues plus no promos. I myself don't like comparisons between members. But regardless of how YB does, I am already not expecting a daesang for this cb for GD which is kinda sad bc this would be his first time not getting one afaik. There is still hope for YB tho bc he is promoting that's why it is understandable that more people are betting on him instead. At least we got a contender in the year-end awards. I'm still not losing complete hope for GD tho... How many times has he surprised us?

I don't know if YG is attempting to erase him slowly. To me, it just seems like he's doing his usual don't-bring-atttention-and-people-will-soon-forget type of scandal damage control. It has worked before (public-wise they do forget even if ignoring scandals bring them more hate from knetz) so I hope that it'll also work this time and after a while, TOP can come back. I don't mind this dome tour if they do the same in the OT4 fanmeet where they bring the TOP cardboard or show a video or something. YG labels this as Bigbang Dome Tour so it has to be a tour for all 5. If TOP couldn't come for obvious reasons, at least acknowledge his presence in some form. That's all I want.

I feel like, in the dome tours, TOP will guest during one of their MC talks or maybe show a video of how he's doing. Otherwise, I don't like the idea of OT4 Dome Tour. They're already so busy with their own tours, I wish they just focus that remaining time on their solo promos or rest up instead. If they plan on a final goodbye before their own enlistment, that's why TOP isn't included (bcs TOP already went in) I would like at least for TOP to show up in some way or form during the tour/ fanmeet or maybe even hi-touch event.

From the BB sales thread, RL seems to be 2nd best performing song digitally on YB's album after ENL. The third one is Stay with Me... Was RL really part of the songs decided late or was it one of the original songs decided by YB? I thought he kinda implied that Ringa Linga was part of his original songs and then YG wanted him to make more for him to choose from and ENL came about...? Complex interview: The company held it back. [Laughs.] But the fans know. The album was prepared back then, and starting with "Ringa Linga" we wanted to put out records one after the other, and then release the album. I don't think the company was certain about my album. The company asked me to work on more records, and because I wanted to put out this album so much, I concentrated on making more tracks. That's how the single "Eyes, Nose, Lips" came about. --------- One of the things I dislike about YG is him still being too strict with the members' song choices to the degree that they complain about it publicly, YB particularly. I get that he has his finances and the YG brand name to protect but BB has done more than enough for the company to warrant trust in them as musicians. It might be a risk for YG but it is a risk that's worth taking that BB members have more than earned and deserved. YB couldn't even say he was completely satisfied with his album. At this point in his established career, I think it's sad and must be frustrating for him... Like, what more does he have to prove?

Maybe I'm being too optimistic but I think they have enough time to start now, maybe after YB's cb. They don't have to have a building set up right away. But the paperworks and the label promotions can be done before GDYB enters military. Seungri can cb at the same time that they are releasing news about the label to the media so that we can trend the "CEO Seungri" tag to add hype to his solo promos. wishful thinking

VIP's have been joking about it forever but now is really the perfect time for BB to have their own label with Seungri at the management helm, maybe GD at the creative lead and then YB handle promoting BB in the West and Dae in the East (starting from Japan), while TOP is in the military. When TOP comes back, the label could be stable and running well by then. TOP can take over creative control, and do subunits with the maknaes while GDYB finish the military. Both BB and YG Family are each too big now to fully function well as one. BB needs to slowly cut ties while they establish their own label. It's free to dream

i for one am happy yg didn't handle pr in the hospital, but the mother. YG is good for damage control but his credibility isn't really that high so if he was the one to address anything, people would have only seen the statements as lies. TOP's mother addressing the public, although it's difficult to listen to her hurting, is more beneficial to TOP. Also, we don't know maybe it was the mother who preferred to talk to the media because she didn't want other people speaking for his son than her especially in that crucial situation. Also, I wouldn't be mad at YG for not showing encouraging words or something to TOP. I don't think it would do any favors for TOP. Even k-vips advised us not to hashtag to show support. Even the BB members didn't talk about it publicly, not explicitly at least. I'm actually kinda ok with how YG handled this one. I hope they support him discreetly while keeping it hush before the media so TOP doesn't get prosecuted even more.

Yeah I agree I think it's more the concert promoter than YG to blame for this. But the discussion on releasing MV's close to the tours is pretty relevant. They are a good way to maintain interest and imo, bullshit would have been a better song to promote for the west audience because it's strength lies in melody/ beats rather than lyrics (untitled). It would help sell the tickets I think. Lowering ticket prices was also discussed a few pages back as a possible way to improve ticket sales. I think fans are just anxious that tickets aren't selling as fast as they should have been had promotions been handled differently. I definitely agree with some of the points brought up.
