  1. If they are really going to hit Japan why eliminate Momo from the get go? /: having 3 Japanese member would be the strongest advantage JYPE would have. /: I was actually thinking they would mainly focus international. .

There's no guarantee Twice will even have a Japanese debut. Everything in here is speculation. Korean groups aren't doing well in Japan as they were 4-5 years ago, so there's really no point in a Japanese debut. More and more groups will be targeting China in the future. For example, T-ara makes a shitload in China now, probably more than they made at their peak in Korea.

  2. do you guys think it's possible for twice to have 8 members? i think something like this: ot4 + sana, dahyun, chaeyoung and tzuyu is the lineup we would get if it were 8 members (even tho this isn't my dream lineup it just seems right...).

I just don't see Minyoung making it after how badly she has performed and all of the criticism she has received so far during the series.

  3. Regarding Somi, while I like her and think that she would do well, it's not just her age that makes me apprehensive to putting her in the group. Other groups have debuted idols that are 14-years-old. My main worries about Somi are mental maturity and mental strength. Being half-Korean, she will get shit on by so many people, and especially from netizens, for something that she can't control. I know she's been bullied in school for it, and it will only get worse as an idol. Half-Koreans are treated like trash in Korea for the most part (and one of the reasons why I'm glad I grew up in the U.S. instead of Korea). I don't want a 14-year-old girl to have to go through all of the shit she will receive. Maybe 16 would also be too early for her, but she would be more prepared for it in two years.

  4. my lineup:

    Nayeon- leader/lead vocal

    Tzuyu- visual/lead dancer/sub vocal

    Mina- main dancer/sub vocal

    Sana-stan attractor/lead dancer

    Jungyeon- lead vocal

Chaeyoung- main rapper (only one rapper please)

Jihyo or Minyoung- Main vocal (prefer jihyo cos she sings better but her attitude makes me  :derp: most of the time)

i think this line up is the perfect balance of popularity and "talent"

This is essentially the group I've wanted for a while, except that I'd pick Jihyo over Minyoung.

Most of these girls finished in the top 7, and Jihyo wasn't very far behind #7. So this lineup has most of what the public wants with enough talent to appease talentwhores.

Edit: I originally wanted Dahyun in over Chaeyoung, mianly because 1) Dahyun was awesome in episode 1 and 2) I'm not too into idol rappers. However, Dahyun hasn't done well since the first episode and Chaeyoung is good enough for an idol rapper.

  5. NO WAY. They have to debut with a strong concept and a strong song. Like Volume Up. It's perfect for them

So essentially, based on your recommendations for what kind of song the group should debut with, you want something produced by Shinsadong Tiger.

While he is my favorite composer in K-pop, I just don't see JYP teaming up with him. I was surprised he even outsourced Sunmi's "Full Moon" to Brave Brothers.

  6. I've become a huge of Mina (basically watched all 7 episodes in a couple of days to catch up). I hope JYP doesn't place a limit on the number of Japanese members in the group because I feel like Sana is a shoe-in at this point. Even though she doesn't have much training time at this point, that just means that she more potential. I really enjoyed her solo dancing performances so far, and with Momo and Eunseo gone, Mina's one of the stronger dancers left, so she's not just a visual and/or a foreigner to add to the group.

  7.

I feel like last night's episode MAJOR line-up is going to be close to the final TWICE line-up. And if that's the case, I'd be fine with it since it's the most well-rounded line-up in my opinion.

And I'm sorry, but people who think that TWICE will be all ok with all visuals are kidding themselves and need a harsh reality check. Nayeon, Jungyeon, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Somi and Tzuyu as likeable as they are, are not lead/main singer material (yet). Even Nayeon/Jungyeon, two of the better 'visual' singers, aren't that great vocally and have obvious limitations. Y'all need to think clearly of which member(s) will help/contribute the most to the group. Besides, there are too many overlapping skill-sets with the current MILK poll MAJOR team. Like do we really need 3-4 main/lead dancer-types or 7 potential visuals?

Uh, did you watch the 'Hands Up' performance last night? Granted, the song choice wasn't the best, but if it wasn't for Minyoung, Jihyo, Jiwon and Chaeyoung, it would have been a complete mess.

Sure, they're an idol group, but they should at least be easy on the ears somewhat. They need a person (or two) to carry the group vocally. Unless, JYP wants TWICE to sing Crayon Pop BAR BAR BAR type of songs.

Sorry that I would rather have a group with good songs (Kara, miss A) that don't feature any "ballad singers" as a main vocalist as opposed to having a group full of main vocalists that spew garbage song after garbage song (Spica).

  8. Words cannot describe how I feel about this comeback. I hope this album will silence the "Her Japanese songs are way better" crowd because while I have always liked her Japanese songs, I've felt that BoA has had more creativity with her Korean sound, especially since her comeback to Korea in 2010.
