  1. I have to say I Agree with the comment. He doesn't do enough to showcase talent, and in this particular program he's been actively booting out the people with the most talent. I know he wants nice kids or something to be his idols, but a company can't just be known for having nice kids. You have to showcase their talent, you have to find talented kids. And there are really talented kids who are also nice so I don't understand where his nice kids versus talented kids dichotomy is coming from.

Momo really does beat all the idols. The current selection of 16 are okay, but they're all pretty average in singing and dancing. If you're running a business, finding beauties with great personalities is a must, but so is showcasing talents that can wow people.

Plus Momo is pretty fucking hot. It's not like she's worse than Mina and Sana in terms of looks.

  2. Assuming that this group has 7 or 8 members, all of the other options bring more to the table.

Chaeyoung offers more musically by being the only good rapper.

Tzuyu offers more by being immensely popular and also by being fluent in a foreign language that a lot of K-Pop fans happen to speak (Mandarin).

Mina offers more by being popular in Japan and fluent in 2 foreign languages.

Dahyun offers more by having more star quality (= variety invites and CF opportunities)

Any contribution that Minyoung would have made can easily be covered by Jihyo and Nayeon (who already has lead vocal potential and I feel will improve over time like Suzy). We're talking about K-POP RECORDS, not Opera, there is nothing that a bubblegum pop song requires that Jihyo can't do. International fans immensely overrate the importance of vocals in K-Pop because they forget that ASIAN IDOLS are a completely different breed from WESTERN MUSICIANS and the priorities of the industry are not the same. It would be unfathomably stupid from a business perspective to put Minyoung in the group over a member who will increase the group's earning potential like Dahyun or Tzuyu.

    Finally.

There are way too many vocalfags and talentfags on OH that don't understand that K-pop revolves around star potential. It's bad enough that Korea is becoming overrun by those boring singing shows that plague the West, but that plague has reached the international who masturbate do an idol reaching an #E5 instead of enjoying the song how the composer envisioned it.
