There were around 80k voting accounts for 1st elimination. I think Sakura is definitely popular in 1 pick, but we'll have to wait to find out during the finale, and the finale leans heavily on the SMS votes too.

That's Weibo, so Chinese netizens. It has no bearing on what the Korean voters do.

Maybe the top 12 can't push each other out, only those below 12. So 1 gets the biggest advantage.

By episode 3 of season 2 you should have known there were going to be changes compared to season 1. If all you saw was "that's cheating!" then you weren't paying attention.

They also gave the position group winners 10k votes, unlike season 1. Season one went from 12 to 1. Season 2 went from 12 to 2 to 1. By the end of the show you should know not to assume. If you're watching PD48, don't assume it's going to be either of those. It may be either of those, but if it's not any of those it's still not cheating.

The vote bonuses in season 2 were 3,000 for group battles. But if you assumed the points bonus was going to be 1,000 because it was that way in season 1 then they told you it was 3,000, that's not cheating. That's your fault for assuming. Whether it's your personal preference doesn't matter. You could be happy about the extra points, you people could be sad. If you're sad about it, that doesn't make it cheating.

What voting part are you talking about? They did 2 pick voting in season 2 unlike season 1. The voting was different.

From the beginning things were different. They chose the pick me center differently, they formed the group battle stages differently, the vote bonuses were different. If by Episode 11 you assumed something was going to be the same as season 1 that's your fault.

There are a bunch of things I personally don't like about the format of the show. I don't like how there's only 1 voting day after the end of the performance episodes, but they tell everyone the voting closure beforehand. One thing that could be considered unfair/cheating is the rumored doubling of studio votes.

The format is the public are the producers and the show is called produce something. If they make a Produce 102 and votes on the last day of a voting round are worth 2x that's fine as long as they tell you that when it's time to vote on the last day of voting. Something is not a rule because you made an assumption about it. It's cheating if MNet states something, people believe that's what is being done, and then they change it after. If MNet says the winning bonus is 1000 votes but then changes it to 10k, that's cheating. If MNet says text votes are worth 7 regular votes, but at the end of the show says they're actually only worth 1, that's cheating. Audience manipulation is also something that the audience doesn't have to buy into. MNet sets it out, but the audience has to buy into it for it to work. MNet can show 11-14, but the audience has to then vote for 11-14. That's not cheating either.

Season 2 didn't have to follow the same pattern as season 1. MNet makes the show, they decide the rules. If viewers make assumptions about rules based on the previous season's pattern, that's their fault. It's cheating if MNet explicitly states a rule and then overturns the rule after the fact. Like if they said the winner gets 100k votes, but then gives the winner 500k votes.

It's not cheating, but it's like giving the 11-14 rankers the greatest screen time. It plays upon viewers' perception of the ranking and who they think is safe. If voters feel someone/their fave is safe they think that they can vote for these underdogs and get everything they want. The general audience also sees them and even if they mildly like them will vote for them. But the text votes are worth 7 regular votes so they make a huge impact.

Mnet likes to manipulate the viewers. Mnet will almost certainly manipulate the viewers again and the viewers will certainly fall for it again.
