This question might serve better as its own thread, but just out of curiosity when was the last time JPOP truly excited you?
There are things I look forward to, but nothing has really captivated me in quite some time.
Completely unrelated, but more artist need to release B-side collections since a lot of the time their B-sides are better than the actual single. I enjoy the likes of "Do the B-Side" and "Ura Utabaka" since you can hear the variety and experimentation that you usually don't get with A-sides and regular albums.
Also congrats to anyone graduating!

Thank you and could I request another song or do I have to wait until next week?
Normally, yes, but you can go ahead and request another for the week. Just note, any other request prior to yours will take priority.

[GIRLSCHANNEL:JPN] Japanese TV Programs People Want to End
Translated by Owatari @ www.onehallyu.com

Recently, a poll was posted asking Japanese television viewers what programs they wanted to end. Although many of these shows are popular, some people are ready for them to be taken off the air. Topping the list was “Gyorestuno Dekiru Horitsu Sodanjo.†Those polled said that while the program could be interesting, the concept isn’t always conveyed as well as it could be.
Coming in at number 2 is “SMAP X SMAP.†After the disbandment disturbance, some do not see them the same. Another feels that even if the content is interesting, they’re no longer funny. SMAP X SMAP’s first episode aired on April 15, 1996.
Rounding out the top 3 is “Akko ni Omakase!†which has been on air since October 1985. One voter said the topics on the program are uninteresting and the program overall is irritating. While someone else said the performers who harden around Akiko Wada are pitiful. They continued that Wada’s intentions are transparent and explained that she’s an inconsistent person that only thinks of herself.
Check out the rest of the top 10 below!
4. Tonneruzu no Mina-san no Okage Deshita (June 26, 1997)
5. Mecha-Mecha Iketeru! (October 19,1996)
6. Shikujiri Sensei Ore Mitai ni Naruna!! (October 3, 2014)
7. Matsuko & Ariyoshi’s Angry New Party (April 5, 2011)
8. Kohaku Uta Gassen (January 3, 1951)
9. Saturday Night Chubaw (April 9, 1994)
10. Viking (April 1, 2014)
[+2699 -119] I’ve watched Tunnels (owarai) bullying and I hate it (their show).
[+1129 -228] Sunday Japon
[+2582 -108] I do not want Angry New Party to end. Although the second half is boring.
[+1228 -219] London Hearts
[+2372 -110] But Angry New Party is interesting !
[+1856 -73] Is there a demand for Viking?
[+2809 -39] Gyorestuno should’ve stopped once Shinsuke* disappeared.
[+1213 -226] Rather than “SMAP X SMAP†probably VS Arashi. I’m tired (of VS Arashi).

*Shinsuke Shimada retired from the industry after admitting to having ties to Yakuza.

I just realized my birthday is next month.

Also I never understood the SnC love.
-
I'm tempted to go in the fall even though nobody I really want to see it touring as of now since Cathay Pacific is having flights for like $700 from New York, with a layover in Hong Kong.
Me going all depends who is on tour then. I was aiming for Rock In Japan this year, but I'm not too keen on the lineup. Sakanaction or Ringo touring would get me to go. And then there is the JT Christmas party in December...
That's actually a decent price. I'm about the same though. Do As Infinity is touring during the time I'm thinking of going, but I don't really want to see them live like I used to. I want to make the most out of the trip and don't want to spend it just watching acts I'm lukewarm to/sightseeing. Although I'm not sure which acts would really push me to go.
YALL SHOULD GO NEXT YEAR BECAUSE I AM PLANNING TO GO NEXT YEAR :D
I feel like next year will be worse than this year.

-
I'm so tempted to book a flight to Japan for my summer vacation, but there's nothing interesting going on.
I don't know why I've been listening to this lately. I haven't listened to her or MiChi in years.
-
Thanks Amaya and welcome milkshake!
I have to say Miliyah really does give her all in her performances. This made me like Shounen Shojo a lot more than I did.
-
Welcome back, Owatari! We missed you!
Lol thanks!

I feel bad for abandoning the forum since I'm a translator, but then there's just so much bs posted here at times so I don't feel as bad.

-
Can you send it over?
Sure, just give me a few minutes. It's short, but a nice record.
-
Which UNCHAIN album?
"with time" I decided to buy it with a few other CDs I purchased.
-
Would appreciate it, if you don't mind.

No problem. I'm almost done uploading it. It's a pretty standard album, but it had some really good moments. "Furusato" in particular grew on me a lot and is really well done for a song that's nearly 7 minutes. Kind of like "Ryuseigun."

-
I need to pick up the new Kasarinchu album now that my computer's finally (mostly) working again; only just got around to looking at the new Straightner (which was really great) and cinema staff (up next) as a result.
I can send it to you if you want since I had to import it and I'm not entirely sure if it's online.
-
Come back to this forum after 3 weeks and it's still such a mess.
Anyways, thoroughly enjoyed Kasarinchu's and UNCHAIN's albums.

Ame no Parade Interview: Part 2
Translated by Owatari @ www.onehallyu.com

Music to Reach a lot of People
-What kind of place do you think the part called Ame no Parade’s, “not wanting to lose to other bands†is?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): I think it’s the music. I think in comparison to those in the same generation, what we want to do is balance the pop parts the best. I like artist like, Ãsgeir Trausti, Rhye, Frank Ocean, artist who roots feel like they stem from R&B. With respect to “New generation,†what I like about it is that we created this image of the tone of the music we wanted to do, but we added catchy elements to it so it could reach more people.
-Did the exchanges between members go smoothly in production?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): During production, we were a little nervous and things didn’t go well at times.
-There’s a person like the leader, and while the band is making music, is there an exchange of opinions or is there a person who is equal with the band, but members grant whatever that person wants to do, which do you think it is?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): Of course we listen to everyone's opinions, but I do think that I hold a leader like position.
-How do you proceed with creating your music?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): I enter a session after vocally detailing and explaining, “this song has the feeling of this beat added onto this tone.†It’s a feeling of making things melo during the session. With that, if there is a phrase I can make use of, I’ll catch it and try to change the rhythm and melody. I try various things and it has the sense of creating things through trial and error.
The Sense of Pop Music Learned From Japanese Pop Musichttp://www.jpopsuki.tv/video/Ame-No-Parade---Tokyo-/0c149d440d3bf243f2ead1a29dd04ddf
-Originally, Fukunaga made a band with Yamazaki-san, and Osawa-sa, right?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): Yes, that’s right. Though we made that band around the time we went to that technical school and because Yamazaki was older than I was I couldn’t say my opinions at the time. That’s why I thought that if I traveled to Tokyo, I’d always be able to do the things that I wanted to do.
-Are you able to do the things you want to do now?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): Yes. Because there have been things I’ve wanted to express with the members, I’ve come to express my opinions well. Because there's chord tone, and technical things that I wanted people to come to understand, I came to have self confidence.
-Are the (musical) roots different among the members?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): Yes, that is right. First, our guitarist Yamazaki, is influenced by Yuzu and metal. Because our drummer Osawa studied wind music, she is influenced by classical music, and latter I think Tokyo Jihen. The bassist, Korenaga, likes youth punk and Kameda Seiji.
-You guys are so full of variety. As for Fukunaga?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): Though I often listen to Western music, I also like Japanese pop music. What I listened to a lot in my childhood was Yuming (Yumi Matsutoya). After that it was the likes of Koji Tamaoki, and Kazumasa Oda. They would overflow in my mom’s car a lot. Although this is Western music, the first CD I bought by myself when I was a small 6 year old was Queen’s best album. During that time, they had a song being used in a drama called “Pride†that I would watch all the time.
-I see. So what kind of influence do you get from that music?
Kohei Fukunaga (Vo): Ame no parade’s sound is affected by western bands from the same generation, but as for the pop sense, I think we are influenced from Japanese pop music. And the melody line as well.

Now (left)
Hayato looks like he’s been on a dangerous sea adventure.
Hayaoto is an actor known for his fashion sense. He loves sushi, sashimi, and strawberries and hates cucumber. In 2013 he started dating model Shino Mukoyama and the pair married in September of 2014 and their daughter was born in November. He's appeared in many dramas and films. Some of which include: "Worst by Chance" "Waterboys 2" "Lost and Found" and "Fukigen na Kajitsu."
3. The short hair and skinhead style suited him as an actor.
6. I think he looks manly
9. A gathering of two prematurely balding men.
10. He’s already balding in the front.
16. The golden age.
19. >>16
How cute.

It’s already come. Knowing you’re going bald, you should just accept it.
17. The golden age
48. >> Cool
20. I never really watched this guy.
121. >>20
He appeared in Chiaki-sama’s drama

It’s Tono like*
52. I want him to appear in a historical dram because a chigon/topknot would suit him

Utada Hikaru (16) “That last kiss had the flavor of tobacco…â€

1. Nishino Kana at 27
"I say do your best to myself! Do your bestt today too!
See you have a nice day
Happy lucky sunny day go go me
This tune has a good feeling
Do your best, me! Do your best Today too!
Happy lucky sunny day excellent me
Do not lose, do not get impatient, do not get discouraged."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAMC1ob11y8
4. What an overwhelming difference
7. Is Utada great?*
Or is Nishino just too stupid?
8. Isn’t Nishino Kana good?
9. There’s only grass
10. Was she forced to write that.
12. I liked the era of Nakajima Miyuki too.
14. If you compare her to legend Utada, it’ll be poor.
15. Takeuchi Mariya at 29, “Only he can realize he is not a manâ€
362.
>>15 It’s too late!
Besides, he who is important doesn’t know if he is a man or a woman, or a ghost
17. I think it’s only natural.
20. She’s an expressive person.
21. Utada Hikaru at 23, "I’m a bear bear bear bear, not a car, a bear bear."
41. >>21
A sad song, for loving your mother
372.
>>21
That’s a song from when she was 23?…
24. Nishino Kana was the one who could sell.
Their popularity is different.
67.>> Haaaaa lol
26. Utada is just too godly.
28. Nakajima Miyuki at 18
The travelers that fell today are reborn and begin to walk again. Repeating their encounters as the revolving revolving world continues to spin
36. >>
What a genius
203.
>>28
She was 18 at the time?! What a legend.
30. I think Nishino has the better singing ability.
46.
>>30. That may be true, and I think the depth of Nishino’s expression is good, but Utada’s the one popular with the public.
31.
Utada Hikaru at 32
"I say do your best to myself! Do your best today too!
See you have a nice day
Happy lucky sunny day go go me
This tune has a good feeling
Do your best, me! Do your best Today too!
Happy lucky sunny day excellent me
Do not lose, do not get impatient, do not get discouraged."
44.
>>31 Deep.
34. Nicene Kana? Though she was disliked, it seems like people are coming to like her
37. Utada Hikaru has a lot of bad lyrics.
42. Utada wrote “First Love†at 16, that’s really impressive isn’t it?
54. I like “Boku wa Kuma†though the meaning is obscure.__________
* The kanji used could also mean ugly.

The way she acts and sings, though it could just be her way of singing since her talking voice isn't the same, in her performances gives me the feeling.
Hmm I really don't see it, but that's an interesting perspective. She doesn't show any signs like the individuals I work with, but no two cases are the same.
Thelma damn...Trouble Love she is on her game
that sucks D: im sorry it happened to you
I like Pink Tears more <3 this is good :O
it still boggles my mind Miliyah used to look like this
"Trouble Love" and "PINK TEARS" are probably my favorite off of the EP. I would've like "One Day" more without Miliyah and AI. Thelma has consistently released strong material since 2014's "Lonely Angel." Hopefully she doesn't get dropped, but all of these best albums are not good. 4 studio albums and 6 best albums is a really poor ratio.
And thanks Ceres.
Now I see why you named yourself Midna. Halfway through Twilight Princess.-

Sorry for your loss, Owatari :(
-----
I like seeing Babymetal and One Ok Rock getting to perform at Western festivals like Rock am Ring and Download. I wish Nothing's Carved in Stone or Miyavi could perform in Rock am Ring someday.....
Sorry about what happened to you Owatari
Dang. Sorry to hear that, Owatari. I know your pain all too well. <__<
Dots' hair and Koichi's pants were throwing me off.rofl
Thanks you guys! And sorry kumuriuta!
Today I realized that I wouldn't be surprised if Hikaru Utada turned out to have autism. Her live performances gives me a bit of a feeling that she could.
What exactly screams autism to you?
-
Sorry to hear that.
Thanks. It's frustrating to deal with, but not much else I can do, but accept that my stuff is gone.
-
"TAXIS" was well worth the (relatively short) wait - only thing is that I wish there was more material, since phenomenal as it is, it just leaves me wanting even more.
Still, far and away the best mini-album I've heard this year.Who knows, at this rate we could get a full album by the years end. We already got 2 mini albums 3 months apart.

Japanese Lyrics Translation Master Request Thread
in Japanese Lyrics
Posted
Yeah, normally it's only one request per user per week, but depending on the schedule of translators it may or may not change. That part is a little unclear, but typically a user is given one request per week and must wait till the following week to make another request regardless if your request has been fulfilled or not. If your request has yet to be fulfilled it is best not to make another request if the thread is still open because that will only cause things to become backed up. This particular instance was a special exception.
Hoped this helped.
