Imagine a world filled with different people who have different opinions. Imagine people making jokes about a non-serious subject.

Do I hate Namie? No.
Will I joke around about her and still listen to some of her music? Yes
People need to stop dismissing those who express the slightest criticism of Namie, EXILE, and the likes. People are allowed to be annoyed with the post, but I find it pretty hypocritical that those who get up in arms about criticism about Namie and EXILE find no qualms about joking about other artist or expressing criticism against them.

Ultimately, it's not that deep. Not one act is really better than another, just different, and all of this isn't directed at you, just a general thought. Hope college is treating you well. <3
I'd be on-board with a full-length release from Ko, given how much he's impressed me thus far. Frankly, I'll take any new material from him really.

I'm hopeful he will release a full album soon, but if he decides to release another mini I won't complain. He'll just be the new FOLKS. Kings of mini albums lol

When you say "people", who do you mean exactly? Because when it comes to "SWEET 19 BLUES", you're really off.
I came back just to agree!

LOL I just needed an excuse to use that gif.
*an opportunity to drag Namie presents itself*

She has the best reactions.

Utada Hikaru Vs. EXILE: Is Avex Trying to Recreate 2001 and Use Utada for Sales?
Translated by Owatari @ www.onehallyu.com

EXILE has decided to release a best album the day before Utada’s new album, but it seems she doesn't care to much about charts and hasn't changed the release date for her album. Additionally, unlike EXILE whom is promoting multiple purchases with the release of three editions and purchase incentives, Utada is only releasing one version of her album. EXILE usually includes posters as bonuses and it seems many fans are purchasing multiple copies. However, all 5 of Utada’s albums have been million sellers and many people have said they’ll go out to buy her CD since it’s been a long time. Who will be number one next week?
[+3783 -15] Cool
[+2494 -11] Good luck
[+3357 -21] Comparing her to them is rude (to Utada)!
[+3416 -23] That’s great. Fight them with your music.
[+2893 -19] avex’s way of selling is dirty
[+3737 -30] I’m not a fan of Utada Hikaru, but I’ll probably buy her album. Because there are so many people like that, I think it will be a landslide victory for Utada.
[+3052 -17] You must not compare Utada Hikaru and EXILE.
[+3508 -18] Utada Hikaru will overwhelm them and this privilege selling method should become outdated.
[+1087 -88] Is this a positive article for Utada? Or a negative for EXILE?
[+2239 -27] Exile, AKB, and the likes… use unfair methods and I dislike them.
[+1661 -22] I like Utada-san, EXILE HIRO is suspicious.
[+676 -9] This is enough EXILE, I’ve had enough of them.
[+972 -32] Utaka-San can write and compose music. EXILE gives the impression that they have to rely on someone else.
[+1352 -18] Utada Hikaru (16) “Our last kiss had the flavor of tobacco†EXILE ( in their 30s) “That’s dangerousâ€
[+396 -19] Well idols and artist do have different methods of selling.-

Hold up KOHH is featuring on Fantome!?
Such a random pairing, but apparently after a friend told her about him she became a fan. When thinking about adding rap to "Boukyaku" they thought why not have KOHH and he made some good suggestions for the song.

[Gossip1:JPN] Netizens React to EXILE ATSUSHI's Hiatus Announcement
Translated by Owatari @ www.onehallyu.com

1. EXILE ATUSHI has announced his hiatus from the group so he can focus on overseas activities and has penned a letter.
ã€Message from EXILE ATSUSHI on EXILE official website】 31st August, 2016
To everyone who supports EXILE and EXILE ATSUSHI:
Thanks a lot for always supporting EXILE and EXILE ATSUSHI warmly. Today, I would like to make an announcement to everyone about my activities from now on. Please read this till the end.
Carrying my dream as a vocalist, I’ve entered the 15th anniversary of EXILE since the group’s debut.
In these 15 years, really a lot has happened. Up till now, there have been countless wonderful songs and encounters. Having been able to sing with all my heart, I am filled with emotions of thanks, deep virtues, miracles and blessings.
Of course, all these, since our debut, have happened thanks to the continuous support from many fans who stand by me all the time.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much.
Ever since I started to become a vocalist, my passion for singing has never faded. I have always been thinking how I could evolve as a vocalist. I wondered, for my fans who have been looking forward to my singing, how my singing would be of use to them even just for a little bit.
Up till now, I have been working hard as the vocalist of EXILE, or as an individual lyricist, song composer or producer of various songs.
What’s more, I’ve collaborated with esteemed artists, pursued solo activities and organized my solo dome tour this year. All these opportunities have really allowed me to gain important experiences.
The original members, HIRO, MATSU, ÜSA and MAKIDAI, who founded EXILE together with me 15 years ago, have all retired from front-stage performance. As the only remaining original member, my thought of improving myself to contribute more to EXILE and to bring the group to achieve higher goals has grown more intense.
While EXILE is about to enter its 15th anniversary, what the group, and myself, should do to go a stage further… this is what I have been pondering in these few years.
EXILE nowadays consists of members who are concurrently working for other groups as well. We have somehow become an all-star corps. As the vocalist of such a group, every day, I feel like I should bring the group to a higher level.
The music of EXILE originated from R&B and dance music in America. For all fans in Japan, we have been trying to create a form of music that is easier to listen to. Furthermore, we have incorporated the unique Japanese elements of “the soul†and “the heart†to create a new genre of music. This has been the challenge for us.
During my activities, I have had the opportunities to work with great musicians from around the world. As a vocalist, I have decided to pursue further studies about music.
Up till now, I have been delivering my best to you all in Japan. I now seek to ascend to the next stage, by putting myself in adversity and going back to basics, to learn English and to equip myself with performing and singing skills of world-class level so as to become a world-class vocalist. I believe this is essential for making EXILE a world-class artist-group.
Therefore, I discussed with HIRO, EXILE members and staff and decided to temporarily migrate the base of my own activities overseas.
But then I think some of you may feel uneasy about my focusing on overseas activities. To help get rid of the distance of me being abroad, we would update all fans any time with my latest activities through the fan club, mobile, Weekly EXILE, EXILE Magazine and other media like Facebook.
However, to migrate the base of my activities overseas would mean a limit to my physical presence in Japan for a while. This does not only apply to my activities as EXILE ATSUSHI, but also EXILE activities. Therefore, we would not be able to give performances as EXILE for a while. We are very sorry to all the fans who have been supporting us all the time.
The migration of the base of activities is only temporary. Hereby, I promise to show you all the evolved EXILE ATSUSHI, and the performance of the evolved EXILE!
And that would be in the year 2018.
In the EXILE live tour “AMAZING WORLD†in 2015, I felt that the live entertainment of EXILE had reached its peak. To surpass the peak and create even greater EXILE entertainment, we have been preparing for this temporary shifting of activity base abroad.
All we want is to continue to create EXILE entertainment that everyone would enjoy and find amazing.
Even though this might be a selfish hope, I wish you could understand this decision and look forward to the evolved EXILE and EXILE ATSUSHI. I would be glad that if you could wait a little while until the year 2018.
Finally, there is something I have felt anew recently.
That is the possibility of how infinitely entertainment could go in the realm of the world.
This decision, for myself, is a huge one. But why could I make such a decision? That is because I have worked with several foreign artists and from our collaboration, I have felt “possibilityâ€.
Spreading this “possibility†and further developing it may perhaps connect countries to one another.
For me, if I could speak the languages of different countries, I might understand their people better…
I have always felt such a limitless “potential†in this.
And so, in order not to end the possibility of this “if...â€, I have made up my mind.
A miracle has happened.
And right in front of my eyes, it starts to occur.
To me, in the world I see and the way I see things, I can dream endlessly and chase whichever dreams wherever I am.
This is the best thing about chasing “dreamsâ€. This is what I have finally realized.
But of course, the prerequisite is the presence of every one of you who have been supporting me.
That’s why, from now on, without being satisfied with the status quo, instead of being the “ATSUSHI who doesn’t changeâ€, I wholeheartedly want to become the “new, constantly growing ATSUSHIâ€.
Always and ever, for all who have been there giving us their warmest support, I decide to work hard with all my efforts.
I hereby swear to become a singer who nourishes everyone’s heart. And I sincerely hope for your understanding.
To everyone, thank you very much, always.
EXILE ATSUSHI
2. Seriously?
3. They’re probably ending (disbanding).
4. Is it for a limited time?
5. Is EXILE finally ending?
6.This is probably because they lost to Sandaime
7. Is this activity stop due to the invitation of Shunsuke Kiyokiba as a secret guest to his solo live after 10 years
11. Cool
12. I thought EXILE disbanded already.
15 Their image has already been damaged by Sandaime.
17. Is it really limited to one year?
19. Which one is ATSUSHI?
23. Huh? Didn’t EXILE dissolve at the end of last year?
25. The contents (of the letter) are long and it beats around the bush, how annoying lol.
32. The letter is too long
33. Since it’s all in romaji does anyone understand?
When he takes off his glasses he looks like the Wisteria of a Buddhist priest.
50. Did being able to have a solo dome tour not do it? Are you not devoting yourself to your solo activities a little?
62. At the end of SMAP is Arashi
At the end of EXILE is Sandaime
At the end of AKB is Nogizoka
64. If this guy disappears, we won’t know anyone by name anymore.
68. “Study abroad†lololololol-

Does Soundscan count gimmicks now? Because iirc, Billboard gets their sales numbers from Soundscan and Billboard reported that AKB's new single sold 1.3 Million. That can't be possible without gimmicks.
Essentially, yes.
Soundscan has completely revamped their format for 2016. Soundscan says that the numbers for previous years cannot be compared to those from this year since their format is completely different; however, they have not detailed exactly what these changes entailed. They’ve combined all the editions of a release into 1 title, instead of showing the sales of each edition as before. It also appears as if they now count sales from company stores instead of just conventional store sales, something they never did before.

We disagree on social issues? When was this :0
I don't think it was anything too serious as far as you and me. I know it had something to do with race and movies so it wasn't a complete social issue and I didn't say anything either.
But other than that I can't think of anything major.Idk talking about social and political issues on a music forum is just something you shouldn't do. Things start off simple, but people start to say some pretty hateful and uneducated things that end up hurting other people. Like there's a big difference between saying I don't like the music you listen to compared to saying you don't like someone's culture.
Can't believe this song will be 15 years old next week. I am getting old.

Hi,first of all thank you for translating the song. But i think you miss out the last line of the lyric which is this one, could you please help me translate this last line of the lyric u missed out? Thanks.ãã らãªã„唄。ドラスティック上京ブルース
Sorry for that! I've updated the post.

Hi,sorry to bother and i am not in a rush but i would like to know when is it likely that the translation be ready? Please reply when you are free and available, thanks.
It has been posted.
Sorry for the delay! -
LOL the existence of a confession tumblr for the forum is interesting. It's also interesting to find out that I am actually a female and not a male.

But that just goes to show that it is possible to lie about anything or misinterpret it over the internet. I would never tell someone to go kill themselves. That's just low and disgusting. I do remember that thread though. Someone was being sarcastic with me over a small mistake and I was sarcastic back, but I can see how it could be misinterpreted as me being mean if you don't know my sense of humor.
I see the post about me and Midna being your cunty minions too.
That one will always be my favorite especially since I disagree with you two a lot when it comes to music and social issues. I just choose not to engage in those topics because it's simply not worth it. Like I don't really like SNC, but I'm not going to go in every thread to say how much I don't like them. It just doesn't make sense. And I refuse to speak about politics and social issues on the forum now because things just get too messy. But yeah, I'm not too familiar with their discog, but this is definitely one of their better songs as of late.
Also hoping the new Sugar's Campaign album is better than their last.
-
In the end, you can't let things bother you.
Oh, I definitely don't. There is no way some random person on the internet is going to ruin my day.
If anything it made me laugh. That message was pure comedy to me. It's just so ironic that someone is leaving hate mail, yet is suggesting that I'm the one who needs their head checked.
Like I don't get paid by Arama and I'm no journalist. Chill out.Anyway, I really like the video that was requested.

It's funny. The same person attacked me, but the whole thing is that I never wrote a single thing about the incident. And I was just going by what the Japanese press reported, which was that she is an idol. A lot of idol fans don't like the stigma attached to them, but the fact that we are saying what the Japanese press isn't really an issue they should have with us, but with the Japanese press.
I really don't care at this point because the only ones who don't agree with me are idol fans or people who want a specific type of Westernized pop to be the in thing in Japan. Hell, even some idol fans agree with me because they say that I have a much more realistic view of things than a lot of idol fans who are just trying to defend their faves.
Yeah I find it pretty hilarious how far some people will go. Though not surprised that they went after you too since you seemed to be the main target. All I did was translate the initial reports, and on here, I said the conversation took a turn that it shouldn't have and that the focus should be shifted back to the victim. So I agree that the anger is misguided. Some later reports (even those used to prove she wasn't an idol) still said idol so that didn't clarify much.
I won't say this is typical of all idol fans, but this kind of behavior from some of them isn't surprising either. There's nothing to suggest that I would use something so gruesome to promote an agenda. I don't even have an agenda to promote. I'm pretty neutral when it comes to idols much like I am will all other types of acts. If I like a song I do, if I don't I don't. For example, I liked Koutei Camera Girl's "Puppet Rapper" from last year, but other than that idols haven't been on my radar, save for the few Arashi songs I liked this year. Although Arashi is a different kind of idol.
Idk people should just take things as they are and should never go that far when it comes to music. This case is a little different since it involved violence, but it's clear that this person was more concerned over protecting the idol/idol fan image than they were concerned about the girl's well being. That along with how the entire post is structured is just odd to me.

I don't post here or make gifs as frequently as I used to, but I went on tumblr and saw someone wanted me to gif an m-flo video. When I went to see which video they wanted, I also saw this little gem.
amend your lying article you hack. the girl attacked wasn't an Idol. you're just trying to mislead people with your fake bullshit and using the attempted murder of a young girl to fuel your anti-idol stance is disgusting and you should feel ashamed. i wonder how your friends and co-workers will feel after they see the shit you post on OH. you are a disgusting person and you need to get your head checked.
I know exactly who this is and I'm debating on reporting them for antagonizing a staff member. I don't want to be petty, but people should really read the forum rules.

I actually graduated a couple weeks ago, but yeah.

Not sure if these will be your thing, but my favorite pop-esque releases from last month were ayU tokiO's "Aratanaru Kai" and Hideki Kaji's "THE BLUE BOY". Maybe give them a try (the former is pretty unconventional as far as song structure goes, which is what really gets me about it, while the latter is just fun).
Well at least I got around to it eventually.
Fingers crossed you get into the school of your choice.Hmm I like the second one a little more than the first.I might check it out.
Make the thread and I'll give an answer.
I don't know if I'm comfortable with your controversial opinions in my thread.

Miliyah's album and Arashi's Fukkatsu LOVE single. I loved every song on that single, no lie.
YAAAAASSS
Interesting. I didn't really have much anticipation going into them, but they were good.
Thanks!
I suppose that really depends on whether or not you just mean Pop or J-music as a whole, since those are really different things if I'm being totally honest. Since there's definitely been a few releases this year that really got me, but... maybe one or two I'd label as kinda close to pop?
You're welcome. I was 99% positive you were graduating, but was hesitant to congratulate you.

Whenever I use JPOP, I use it as a term that encompasses all of Japanese music. So I guess that changes things. Because looking at just mainstream pop things are even worse for me.

Utada Hikaru Vs. EXILE: Is Avex Trying to Recreate 2001 and Use Utada for Sales?
in Translations
Posted
Sometimes people see multiple versions as a way to promote bulk buying, especially if each version comes with different bonuses. While others see it as another way (sometimes smarter) of promotion.
As far as Avex goes they were known for the selling of music cards, a cheaper alternative to CDs, which helped to increase sales. People would buy the music cards but not download the music on them which cause Oricon to discontinue the counting of music cards into official sale numbers. You can read more about it on Arama. People named EXILE in the comments, but the comments are a mess.
