  1. Your trips to Japan remind me I need to fly there. I've never been outside Europe!

This is actually my first time outside the country! Although I've been to a few states across the U.S.

Sempai , we will be in same country *_*

    Have fun!! :D

    Do it!!!!

Lol Thanks! Canada isn't ready for me.

  2. Jamming to the underrated Utada bop, For You <3

I was listening to that in the car yesterday!

Also just booked my hotel room for Japan. I was leaning toward the direct flight, but went for the flight with a layover in Vancouver because why not kill two birds with one stone. Plus the hotel room in Vancouver was free.  :datass:

  3. That's the best time to go!!!! Flights are cheapest then :D

Yeah I've been looking at flights and hotels and they're pretty cheap. Plus I still have money saved from last year since I was planning on going then. But idk... lol I should stop making excuses and just book the ticket

There's an Ayumi Hamasaki fan somewhere in my city

  4. I've been so busy that I didn't really miss this place...

Also, while this place wasn't up, I found myself to be a bit more relaxed as far as being online. I focused on Arama more. I just feel that posting Japanese things here and on Arama to be a bit... redundant. Like I really am thinking of just dropping the digital daily chart. It's become more of a chore than something I really enjoy. I feel like a weekly chart really is enough. And with Arama, I just care less and less about posting about things I really don't care about. But this has been a thing for a while and everyone knows. Like I have zero desire to use my free time posting about LDH acts and YUI clones. If they're not posted by someone, they're just not posted. Similar to how a lot of idol groups aren't posted by anyone.

I also slept a lot more. And I heard basically nothing about KPop. I think the one time this site was down that I heard about KPop was Shinee and BoA on FNS. It like really put things into even more perspective in a strange way. As if I didn't already know how niche KPop is in reality.

  5. As a racial minority woman living in America I'm worried about what's yet to come. The fact that I live in a blue state doesn't really mean much at this point.

America, what have you done?

    *sobbing*

It's a terrifying time to be alive.

Living in a heavily blue state gives me some solace, but then Trump will still be president with a republican house and senate, possible supreme court nominees...

  6. I liked it at first as well, though ended up loving it upon a good few re-listens.  I really appreciate that "P.Y.L" actually IS a natural progression from "UBU", even if it didn't seem like it would be at first.  It's a... rather sobering album when it comes to tone; I'd be tempted to call it 'dark', but it strikes me that it's less that and more that it has something to say.  Noda's said that his main foci with it were rhythmic songwriting and digital recording methods, and I think that shows through.  I've liked "85" ever since I first heard the live version - think it, "Wander Lust", and "Strobo" are my personal favorites.

Oh, you can take a listen to a preview for the lead track here:  http://recochoku.jp/song/S1003716193/

Yeah from what was released prior, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I can definitely see the progression from "UBU." It does have a dark tone which I can appreciate. I think "Strobo" is my second favorite from the album, but I'll have to give it a few more listens before I have a definitive list.

  7. That's an album you just need to sit with for a while ("P.Y.L"), since it grew on me immensely on repeat listens.

In other news, returning to Negoto's "VISION" since they have a new EP out next month - lead track was produced by the BOOM BOOM SATELLITES' bassist and sounds like a pretty slick mix of both of their sounds.  Excited to hear what the rest of the CD sounds like.

I actually liked it on my first listen. I kept getting distracted so I had to stop listening to it and finished it today. lol "85" is probably my favorite after 1 listen.

I don't think I've ever listened to Negoto before, but that sounds interesting. I also listened to Fredrick's album today and that was nice. A lot of interesting sounds going  on. Same for P.Y.L.
