Lol why does it seems like fans of that group didn't bother to read the whole article at all and just directly downvote just by reading one sentence that they thought was bashing them?
Anyway regarding Spotify, with how many streaming services are in Japan (as well as in China), I'm not even surprised that the service is not popular in these 2 countries.
It's funny because there's proof that people have been fudging with streams and not just with that group. It's just weird because wouldn't you want people to actually be listening to their music than for them to have a fudged top 10 hit.

Finally going to Japan next week! So excited.
Anyone know any good music places or shops to visit?
The flagship Tower Records store in Shibuya was pretty cool to see, it also has a statue of Hachiko. But if you don't mind used CDs or DVDs/BDs then Shinjuku has a bunch of Book Offs (I got a really cool Ace figure for cheap there) and the quality is always super good.

Utada's album is a lot better than I expected it to be

-
This album is going to be everything

-
It's insane how busy the streets in Japan are.
-
A big part of it is them being young. The KPop fans of 5 years ago are largely gone, replaced by another young group that will be gone in a few years, leading to the cycle repeating.
I know a lot of them are young, but I've definitely seen some questionable 20 plus year old sticking around when new fans pop up.

Stuff like that makes me glad as hell that J-Music twitter is'nt that annoying, I can stan my japanese faves in peace and everything over on j-music twitter (if it exists).
-------
Kpop twitter fandom got a huge inflow of what i'd like to called the annoying stan twitter styled western stans it's no coincidence that modern day kpop twitter ifans act exactly like those people.
That Cupcakke thing was so shitty of those people to do. Those fangirls thing that their faves are theirs and baby the heck out of em and it's so annoying.
God, stan twitter is the absolute worst. I know with Kpop fans people always say it cause they're young, but it's been going on for years and some people never seem to grow out of it.
I think the most annoying thing is when people try to point to sales or YouTube views as a be all end all, but quality is so much more important than random figures. Just because something sells well or gets a lot of views doesn't mean it's good.

I really can't wait for March to come. Yakuza 6 and Ni no Kuni II come out the same week and they have a high chance of being my games of the year

^Haha, IKR? I feel this would be OK if they were selling it as a mini album!
I'm looking forward to it as it's the first "new" DAI album I'm buying but was hoping it would be 14 tracks.
Especially when you consider when they released BRAND NEW DAYS 3 years ago it had 10 new songs.
The only thing that I'm looking forward to with this album is the live dvd since it has robot, d/n/a, and wadachi.

Museums, Versailles, shopping, eating...
Sounds exciting! Hope you have fun
I may not be fully knowledgeable about Youtube logistics but I'm pretty darn sure it is not complicated to make your PV's available for worldwide viewing. In this day and age, where acts from around the world have unrestricted viewing on their postings, there's no excuse.
If you consider the fact that her music videos for Fantome were available worldwide the same day and that other labels like Avex make their videos available internationally the same day, it's a horrible excuse.
----
How do you release a 10 track album with only 4 new tracks then reveal that 2 of those tracks will be a prologue and an epilogue so in reality there's only 2 new songs?

-
Two weeks til I leave for Paris!
Lucky you. What do you plan on doing there?
-
Kpop Twitter is so annoying though. They're still sending Cupcakke death threats. How lame and obsessive can you be?
-
I'm sure you'll be able to go see something? Although several acts seem to be doing fanclub tours this time...
Possibly. There's always something going on in March, but at this point I'm thinking is there anyone even worth seeing?
-
I'm going to be in Japan for 9 days in March and I'm not going to get to see anyone live.
I would've got to see Ken Hirai, if I had went when I originally planned, but I pushed the trip back nearly a year so my friend could go too. -
***** fans are so annoying

King Gnu, Kreva, Ayaka Ide, Yonezu Kenshi and a bunch of others have released some pretty good albums this year.
In no particular order:
the dresscodes - Heibon
Negoto - ETERNALBEAT
Tomuya - Eiga
Sukima Switch - re:Action
Kuwata Keisuke - Garakuta
Ohashi Trio - Blue
Yonezu Kenshi - BOOTLEG
Pirokalpin - Gnome no Sekai
BIGMAMA - Fabula Fibula
toconoma - Newtown
Meguro Shoji - Persona 5 OST
I don't know why this is so funny to me

[GIRLSCHANNEL:JPN] JPOP SCANDAL: A Photo of HEY!SAY!JUMP's Keito Okamoto in Bed Leaks
Translated by Owatari @ www.onehallyu.com

The Cover of Shukan Josei teases a bed photo of Hey Say Jump Keito Okamoto’s night face

It appears the photo was taken while Keito was at Sophia University. The woman who took the photo said, “On that day, I went out drinking with some friends from University, but not even in my wildest dreams did I expect Okamoto-kun to be there too.â€
[+809 -25] He’s young, isn’t he
[+1616 -16] A face with many blank spaces
[1183 -22] It’s Hey!Say!JUMP again!
[+2076 -20] This is only good for providing news about their lower body parts
[+247 -14] Sounds about right
[+733 -8] There’s a photo
[+705 -10] I want to see the picture
[+1014 -338] Takahashi Issei looks really cool on the cover
[+1119 -7] He had a deep love with Arimura Kasumi-san right?
[+571 -4] The golden age of Keito Okamoto

[1035 -19] With the face of a gentleman character lol
[+496 -14] Was it Arimura Kasumi?
[+1248 -6] Okamoto's pictures with Arimura weren't bad... This time it might be a problem. I want to see the picture as soon as possible
[+1350 -30]

[+1486 -30] Hey! Sei! JUMP (Sei means sex)
[+1575 -33] His dad has better looks than him/ His father is an Ikemen
[+1194 -31] But he’s ugly

Here's a colored, higher quality picture of the photo

There's nothing interesting to translate.

-
These new Ken Hirai songs are great

Also any translation requests? I should have time to do one or two this weekend.
-
Okay, thanks for the heads up.

There's a Twice not dominating thread?

Edit: Oh that thread.
My friend had a lot of fun for all 4 days although it was her first time lol. Oh I didn't know DJ Taku attended!
Yeah once you get past all the large crowds and lines it's actually pretty fun. Yeah he and a few other pop acts performed
Update
me and the person I was talking about a few days ago are no longer friends.

-
A friend of mine went to the expo for the first time but especially for Yoshiki and FMA panel. Too bad about Yoshiki but it's understandable. Did you attend any panels?
I went to one panel. I can't remember her name for the life of me, but it was an manga artist. I think one of her manga's is about 3 fairies that turn into women and something about their relationships lol. She was really nice and funny though.
I would've loved to have stuck around for another day and saw DJ Taku because the guy seems like he would be interesting to meet. Plus there were a few signatures I wouldn't mind getting. So maybe next year.

How dare the mod targeted us at J-Turd when you have people cursing like this, calling people names: https://onehallyu.com/topic/541841-if-twice-isnt-then-whos-actually-popular-and-relevant-in-japan-a-thread/
Kpop culture is so wild to me, but I guess that's just the younger nature of the fans showing up. But still...
Went to Anime Expo this past weekend and it was quite the experience. I only went for one day, but got to experience so much. Wish I didn't zone out and wrote some stuff down for Arama. Oh well, maybe next year
-

Seriously though all of this has been... interesting to read. lol
It's kinda sad that this is the biggest congregation of pop fans on the web cause this side just gets smaller and smaller. But I'm not one to talk since I spend more of my time nowadays playing games and watching BB

Mukai Taichi's and Kasarinchu's latest albums are probably some of their best work. Also, I'm surprised that Goodbye Holiday disbanded 6 months ago.
