Judy really is a gem. She auditioned at 24 and debuted at 25. (Youngheun's 26 this month. Fatou and Judy are 25, Hyeme is 24 turning 25 in December. Leia's the youngest at 19 years old).

Desperation? If this is something they really want, people will fight tooth and nail to accomplish a goal. And even if they don't debut or hit it big, it does become easier to migrate from a company if you've already established a trainee period with another. This is Youngheum's third group and Hyeme's third variation of RaNia; it's clear that they really wanted just one more chance. (Plus DR isa fan of scouting and networking, it's how they got Alex, Fatou, Namfon, and a couple of other trainees who have left). BTW, for all the many, many.... many mistakes of RaNia/BP RaNia, Black Swan is doing as good as original debut RaNia. View count and title track streaming have surpassed their predecessors. I'm assuming they've beaten them out with digital sales too as If they can manage to sell just under 3k physical albums by the end of this year, RaNia will officially be dead and BS will be the new hope of DR Music.

Which of these girl groups had the best debut song?
JessicaRabbit replied to deliriousness's topic in Random
From the list, Girls' in the Park (still such a weird name). Make it moon~ was so catchy. The choreography and aesthetics were also beautiful. It felt like 2011 musical era with a 2009 type GG. -
Hmmm.... her "book" is going to be a mess. I wonder if she'll release the names of the male idols she messed with.

So much improvement in such a short amount of time. They sounded better, were styled better, and much more confident than their debut stage. Speaking of debut stage, it hit 2.5 million views.

So far... Tonight music video has accumulated 4,961,412 views (2,318,100 on Danal and 2,643,312 on their own account) in two weeks + trending on Korean YT. (The Dance Version of Tonight has accumulated 752,759 views in 11 days.) Debut stage has accumulated 865,960 views in 24 hours. Goodbye RaNia the album charted on the Gaon Charts at #71. The second release in RaNia history to do so. Title Track "Tonight" has 266,881 listens on Spotify, beating out Make Me Ah, Start a Fire, Breathe Heavy, and Demonstrate. Reached and peaked at #89 on the iTunes K-POP Songs US. Peaked at #50 in iTunes Brazil. Debut trended in Brazil and peaked at #1. Some other achievements:

I noticed DR Music renamed their Youtube channel from RaNia to Black Swan and removed every single RaNia video they had. Ridiculousness. Should've started a new Youtube to begin with instead.

Something I wanna say... It's definitely an impressive feat to achieve a million copies of an album, regardless of it being domestic or overseas, most artists - solo or otherwise - can only achieve 1 million with a worldwide total. With that said, I think BlackPink's "Legendary Status" is falling flat with non fans because their domestic sales isn't "brag worthy". I don't stan either of the groups but I know that BP sells the same, if not more, than Twice per album. The real issue is that BP discography is half of TWICE and BP was pushed more digitally, which leads to a different method of how many streams and purchases equate to a sale... so it's not a great comparison but they sure as shit aren't lacking. I think too many people are holding onto Girls' Generation and 2NE1 (and KARA) and refuse to allow them to be replaced by newer groups. But the success of another act doesn't mean the absence of the other. Blackpink and Twice (and Red Velvet) can be the new girl groups leading the third gen. It doesn't take away from anyone's legacy and it's not like you have to throw away 2NE1 if you want to stan BP.... This same shit was happening waaaay back when people couldn't believe we had the audacity to compare SNSD and the Wonder Girls to S.E.S and Fin.K.L. It's okay to move on you guys. As of October 24th, the album sold 1,120,867 copies in China, I'm unsure if that is the total numbers of digital and physical combines or the total equivalent but this was being reported by the Chinese, the numbers taken from QQ (official digital charts). Also, unlike the Oricon and the Billboards, the Hanteo charts count all sales bought from approving stores and websites, regardless of where they ship. This helps boost sales on a singular chart so it looks like majority of sales are inbound (domestic) and skewers the sales to know where exactly, each is coming from. United States: 17,000 physical sales as of 10/20 via Hits Daily Double (Update; Billboards report the weekly sales as 19k pure). Europe (E.U): Unknown. United Kingdom: Unknown. Spent 1 week on UK top 10s via Official Charts. Japan: 30k equivalent (sales were digitally) via weekly Oricon charts. China: October 3rd: 700,000 digital copies of the album were purchased (via Chinese music data). Early reports of them having sold the equivalent of 500k about two ago but I'm having a hard time finding (English) info on that. So I looked up the fandom war btw this is V E R Y common in mandopop; fans of individual members have battles to purchase the most copies or raise the most money. Lisa's fandom confirmed their order of over 130k with receipts on a Hanteo approved website for the first week of sales (you can find this on Twitter). The overall total sales that the fandoms had reached were over 400k, no receipts found from all of them BUT I have limited access to Weibo, so it's probably likely that they indeed sold 500k.
