It was in the RaNia thread where I said I expected DR Music to offer a shorter term contract to Hyeme to remain in the group if she wins her lawsuit. I fully believe that the company was surprised at the warm reception the group received and would have sought renegotiations had things not side ways with Hyeme and her scandal. I don't know if Hyeme would've renewed then but if they're willing to back her up in court and she wins her case, she might consider about 3 more years with BS. I guess we'll see but for now, I intend to focus on the 4 who are still in the group.

Agreed. Hyeme never should've been added. I'm wondering if they ended up bringing her in because Seungyeon left the company? IDK if she was a vocalist though. They should've announced this comeback as a farewell to RaNia and a graduation from Hyeme from the get go. It'd still be distasteful but people would be aware of the situation and could be prepared for her absence. They could've made it more interesting by having whatever a battle between whatever trainees they have left to take her spot, uploading videos of them performing and then they could've had it were fans voted for their favorite girl. It'd spark interest at the very least. Since DR refuses to simply debut a girl group separate from RaNia, then the rebranding was definitely necessary. Black Swan had a MUCH better reception than BP RaNia, I dare say it was better than short-lived RaNia 2.0 (Demonstrate era). And while the foreign fans definitely helped, them being seen as something new did alot for them. IDK.... DR was heading in the right spot and shot themselves in the foot. Hopefully this will be the L A S T time we hear about RaNia, same with their songs.

On the bright side, all the Black Swan members have hit over 100k followers on their instagrams.

The group can't afford to go on a hiatus. It's been 3 weeks. They might've gotten explosive attention from their debut but that doesn't mean anything for longevity. They're less than 100k from hitting half a million streams for Tonight on Spotify and gained significant traction on their melon and cafe. We were supposed to get a fandom name and a reward for them hitting 5 million views for their MV. If DR wants to squash the musical promotions, that fine and more than understandable. Hyeme was the main vocalist and sang half of Tonight and Over & Over. Judy and Leia clearly can't handle her parts and Youngheun struggles with her parts as is. But they NEED to be active on their social media, even if it's just posting selfies, as well as still doing their Vlogs. They need to keep themselves relevant. Putting a rookie group on the back burner dissolved groups way more popular than BS. They really can't afford this.

Final update: BS set records for RaNia, including fastest disbandment. I just feel so bad for Youngheun.... She was so happy, this was her 3rd group and she's 26. She saw how much interest people had in BS and was looking forward to finally having a chance.... When Namfon left, she said she felt bad for Leia and was hoping she could debut with another company because she worked so hard. I'm so sad for the members. DR should've just scrapped Tonight promotions and had them promote O&O instead. The were already set back from covid and now they're thrown back into the dungeon not even after a month?

Oh my god...is this.... CLARIFICATION ON A SITUATION?!?!? In the 10 years of RaNia... Well god damn. I guess black swan really is the Messiah of the company (DR is clearly trying to save face as much as possible because BS was doing so well).

Some netizens have been digging and said the name of the victim is Park Hombeom and he used to shower Hyeme with money and gifts when she would BJ in Afreeca. I can't believe they really said "Goodbye RaNia" and the last member of RaNia is gone. I wonder if she would've renewed if this never happened because it'd have been MESSY AF to have her walk out in the middle of a comeback/debut. [UPDATE] IDK if you all remember the Hyeme stan from Singapore, but she was always close to the girls and of course Hyeme and she said that Hyeme never wanted to continue as RaNia, rebranded or not, and had planned to dip after "Tonight" promotions ended (contact would've ended but she'd stay until promos were over). She said that DR shouldn't have added her to the group knowing she wasn't going to stick around (I agreed) but their debut was set back due to Covid-19 so the timeline was off. Still, how messy.

It's really unfair to the others to have to deal with this; they can't afford to call it quits on promotions now and they were all set to go with a double title track as well. Even if they push forward, I don't know how well they can do without their main vocalist. IMO, Hyeme should've known better that something like this would bite her on her ass. She's been in the game long enough to see how idols leagues ahead of her have fallen from scandals. She should've taken initiative to control the situation or even have her company speak on her behalf on it when she knew she was going to re-debut. Even a simple "Blackswan is our only act, and we're only now starting promotions. We'll see what we can do." If I was DR, I'd have Hyeme take a whole part time job to pay back her dues when BS isn't promoting. Such a mess.

I had to laugh when I saw the backup dancers bustin moves in the back with their masks on. This comeback stage was EVERYTHING - the Space Dive concept was fun. They all sounded amazing... but those outfits (sigh) classic little mix weirdness.

I don't know what their digital sales are looking like (domestically and internationally) but they'd be solid if it was even 1/3 of their viewership; people are watching them, but people need to be either streaming the song for free or purchasing the song on iTunes (or whatever) because the physical sales aren't going anywhere.
