anyone knows why Kai didn't perform in Lotto?
i think its cause they've been crazy busy hence they havent had time to adjust the formation of the performance. That, and they still heavily rely on lotto as a strong strong backing track performance when they do the lotto/monster duo. That way, they give all the energy into monster as crazy live... idk if i make sense lmao

Is the album up on apple music? I can't seem to find it but wonder if there's just like normally a time lapse?

Just finished episodes 19 and 20. That was a bad idea. I AM NOT OKAY.
Not sure if I should use spoilers or not, so I will just in case...
I don't have many thoughts atm, just sad that it's over and for the characters. I was really glad that at least Jung, Baekah, and So lived...
I didn't see anyone mention Baekah and Woohee's baby. Unless I got something wrong, it seemed like Woohee secretly had a baby and for some reason Wook took her in (if so, he finally redeemed himself a bit for me)? Then Baekah finds her at Wook's house and she has Woohee's elephant charm and her name is Bok Soo just like the fake name Woohee gave him at first. She even disappears at random just like Woohee did when he first met her. I wish there had been a little more on that, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the whole Baekah/Woohee storyline was never done enough justice. Why start now? But I'm glad he at least found out and there was some kind of confirmation for the fans.
Jung's ending was heartbreaking. He silently loved Hae Soo all those years. I'm glad that they got to be together, even though it was only for a little while and just as friends. He was a great friend to her until the end. It reminded me a bit of Lady Hae and Wook (except Wook eventually realized he DID love Lady Hae back). I felt so sorry for him when So took the urn back with him. Baekah was right that Hae Soo would have wanted to be with So, but it was still so tragic, especially with everything Jung did for her at the end.
By the end of the show, I'm surprised So even wanted to be king. Everyone he loved ended up leaving, even Ji Mong right at the end. I am happy that Hae Soo changed history so that he was known for being a good king, but it's so heartbreaking to think about him just living alone secretly unhappy and lonely. Yeon Hwa was evil until the end. I'm glad he got to meet his and Hae Soo's child, but I wish there had been a little more of a revelation, he could have talked to her instead of just scaring her. It was nice that he finally freed Jung and asked him to visit the palace with her more I guess.
The modern day part was a real letdown. I would have rather Hae Soo never remembered than have her remember and basically be tortured for the rest of her life remembering her "other" life. I wish it had shown her at least going back to talk to Ji Mong. He would at least be familiar so she didn't have to bear everything on her own...that is, if he remembered, which I suspect he did. Still not sure how though. The ending with the paintings and the flashbacks really got to me. I can't even imagine what a mindf*ck that would be. I hope she doesn't end up going crazy now.
I wish they had shown that scene of her meeting So in the future. I think the best ending would be her never remembering and just meeting up with him and being happy. Then we could have seen the other couples (Baekah/Woohee, Eun/Soon Deok, Jung with someone, Wook/Lady Hae even) randomly walk past together so we at least had closure. I feel like the way all of the stories ended was just too open-ended and it made me feel empty instead of content. The drama was so sad toward the end, it would have been nice to have at least a little relief from that instead of seeing the main couple of the show basically separated by 1000s of years. Depressing.
I have an idea. Instead of a season 2 there should be a spin-off show with Hae Soo in the modern world. She meets up with So, Baekah, Woohee, Eun, and Soon Deok and the show becomes like the Korean version of Friends and just as iconic.
I'm just kidding, but it's a nice thought, everyone friends and being happy in the future...to answer wooheexbaekah
lmao was that their child lol, to me, that was a hallucination that he had. Because as puffy as those traditional dresses were, there was no way she could hide a baby from him, especially since they pretty much were side by side throughout those later years. so it'd be a bit rando for her to pop a baby in secret lol i think idk, they wanted to give baek ah a little of that love but not (like a montage, which he had when he was doing a flashback) since he's the only other prince left who's love montage wouldn't be soo lol You know romances, they always gotta remind us that everyone's been paired off. Won had a montage, baek ah, and obvs jung and so...

The line that made the entire series for me, that brought the whole thing full circle oddly comes from Wook...
"In this lifetime, our intertwined fate ends here..."
For me, that was the point where I was content for the show to end. It felt like...here we were. Free, in some sense. I just felt that she was emancipated, not just from the palace or from patriarchalism (!!!), but in some sense from that wicked triangle.
+! The one thing I oddly liked about this show was the consistency of the "death anthem" (is that too sombre?). That song became this reoccurring motif and it was the one composition choice that they got so, so right.
While I'm at it (lol) I just want to remark that I have only like one complaint about the finale and thats...
about So and Soo's child. Like is that it? Is there not motherly desire to be reconnected with her daughter? Is there no pain about leaving a part of her, something, someone, so tangible behind in time? Like when she was having all those memories and stuff she didn't even think about her kid like rando for a mother but I mean guess you can't fit everything in. Like that kid just kinda became a plot device. Sad.
And..stay classy yeonhwa, glad to know you were nasty till the end. Adieu.

QUICK EP 20 THOUGHTS LIKE ONE LINE TBH LOL
(I just quickly watched the ending its like 1am for me hahaa)
I know a lot of people are protesting the end, but I like it. It was bittersweet--there was enough tragedy but also enough hope and I think its what this drama perfectly deserved. I know there won't be a season 2 but quite frankly, I don't think we need one. I think the words she said to him, mind you this is not verbatim, "if we meet again in another life then i could love you with all my heart" or some shit like that was quite poignant. It was sad. But it felt right.

I agree with your take on Yeonhwa. I don't despise her ambition, but her take on it is so fuckin questionable. The thing is, she seems like she wants the throne so she can have control of her own life and not be oppressed in a man's world. HOWEVER, she's hinted so many times that she has a crush on So, so this plan to marry him could just be a way to satisfy her fantasies. Which, of course, is a bitchy move and a reason why people hate her. Honestly, she would be much more respectable if her ambition was to free herself from control, rather than achieving her childhood dream of fucking her half brother. Whatever, I hope some bad shit happens to her in the remaining 3 episodes. Her, Wook, Won, and Chaeryung got away with too much shit.
And to answer your second question...they definitely fucked in the last episode lol. I think she was just acting shy cause he was talking about the subject so openly with her. Like, when you're not in the moment, talking about things like that can be overwhelming even if you have done it before.
dying at her children dream though, still gives me the heebie jeebies
hahahah true, we were all so confused for a sec cause they were so shy hahahahahah
??? what do you mean, cheese in the trap deja vú? The drama is following in the same steps as the Chinese version from what I see (minus the whole miscarriage thing, unless they're gonna shove that into episode 19).
i think the analogy of cheese in the trap deja vu refers to the fact that that drama's ending eps fizzled out and quick leaving loads left unsaid and undesirable character BACKgrowth lol

EP 17 THOUGHTS
I won't say much except...YeonHwa. IS that her name lol anyways, in my like my scarlet heart group chat a couple of weeks ago I remember watching it and then saying how much a line she said struck me. Something along the lines of "Why do all the men who sit in that seat threaten me with marriage, from the one who conceived me to the one I grew up with. You must believe there is no better way to control a woman than with marriage."
It was the one time I saw her character for something else other than the one dimensional cut that she's portrayed by--the woman hellbent on power and the throne and perhaps a little of selfish childhood love. But other than that, we never truly saw her motivations, an explanation for why she's so goddamn annoying lol I know how patriarchal this show is and it drives me up the wall but I let it slide cause its historical and tbh thats just the way it was. But when she said that line, I was finally reminded of how outrageously one sided society was. A man's world. And there she was, kind of, just a woman trying to make her mark, or survive. I actually empathised with her. OR MAYBE IM PAINTING HER AS SOMETHING MUCH BETTER THAN SHE'S WRITTEN BECAUSE LATELY I HAVE NOT EVER SEEN THAT YEONHWA THAT I THOUGHT I GLIMPSED FOR A SPLIT SECOND THERE. In fact I'm pretty sure in the same ep she was like a major dick after she said her emmy line lol
Anyways, I don't understand why we didn't get a character like that???? Instead here we are, round 17 eps in and she's aptly nicknamed YeonRat for a reason. Because far out i can't whenever she gets on screen. Like does she ever have something good to add to life. Like something positive, maybe so like she can balance out the karma she's gonna get lol Seriously though, whenever she's on screen I just think dammit, there's the bearer of bad news, riot of the palace, snake of all snakes, whats this one dimensional character going to scheme now and how many times can i roll my eyes because i feel nothing for her and understand none of her motivations. ANYWAYS im just venting because she's basically drove me insane for 20 eps (im getting a head of myself but u just know she's gonna drag shit out till the end).
SECOND SMALL POINT is lmao GUYS!! I thought we all reasoned that the candle blowing out last ep was metaphoric for banging or something lol AND now this episode when they were talking about kids they got all shy and innocent like they didn't even know and like im just so confused????? so did it happen or not lmao
Episode 17
Glad the 3rd prince is gone. I could not with his "it's all your faaaaaaault" to Hae Soo when she's just living her life and you're the one who killed your brothers
I also couldn't with Hae Soo's O_O expression when he was talking to her before he died. I was like GIRL RUN AWAY. GRAB SOMETHING TO DEFEND YOURSELF. PULL DOWN THAT CABINET SO HE TRIPS. I guess it all worked out though and I was so impressed with her when she hailed 4th prince as king. I don't know if I said this last week but I'm enjoying Hae Soo's character development - she's acting a lot more mature and loyal to the guy she chose so good on her.4th Prince looks so different with his hair up
And thank god Hae Soo is back in pretty dresses. Also there was weird editing this episode which I haven't seen for a while. Guess I will have to check out the SBS version. What even was that scene with Hae Soo, 4th prince, and 13th prince right after 4th prince ascended to the throne?
Even though I started out not liking the 4th Prince, I like him now and I like him and Hae Soo together. I appreciate what he said to HS about not visiting everyone that calls on her after saving her from Queen Yoo and the 14th prince. Soooo I really hope the inevitable Chae Ryung execution will be handled by him better than in the Chinese version... It was around that point where I really started rooting for the 14th Prince. I also wonder if 4th prince is going to have Woo Hee executed as a traitor. I have a bad feeling about this. I guess those stresses plus her just discovered illness will drive her away from the 4th Prince and into leaving the palace and marrying 14th prince? (Also I guess we are just supposed to believe Mr. ancient doctor with no medical degree who did no more than take her pulse and declare she has ten years left to live. ok
) But over here in Delululand I want a happy ending for the 4th Prince and Hae Soo. And I mean a happy ending in Goryeo. Make it happen pls
GIRLLLL!!! Same about doctor no medical degree. I was like mate, some old man just took your pulse and said your knees become a chronic illness and the scar on you hand didn't heal properly so nowyou have a heart condition. LIKE WTF LOL it was so outrageously unbacked by anything that would have made sense to a 21st century brain and she was just like hmmhm sad, i wanted more years to live. WHT??

I really think it's to marry Soo. He said it was something that he's always wanted to do. But I'm on the same boat as you. He's precious, but I don't ship him with Soo at all. They just don't have that chemistry imo. :( I was thinking maybe he can get with Chaeryung, but that bitch needs to pay for what she did. Can't wait till someone exposes ha.
Yes! The chemistry is just not there, I just always feel an older sister, younger brother feel, as does Soo. Girl same, I'm feeling like wtf cause Chaeryung just looks happy go lucky as though she didn't fucking be an accessory to murder like wtf. She's even sweet in this ep obvs the murder looks like it had no affect.
-
im weak, i watched it lol but im also going to rewatch the sbs ver cause i prefer it so, so much more. I'd forgotten how choppy the intl was.
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO'VE WATCHED 16 THO
That last bit with Jung, when he went to ask for that favour. DO YOU THINK ITS TO PARDON SOO or omg to marry her cause im like so confused right now cause he is precious and sweet and urgh but also not my ship but still
-

EP 11 THOUGHTS I BAWLED
I'm glad Lady Oh gave Wook a lasting piece of her mind and I wonder if her words will haunt him. Glad she dragged Wook. Honestly I always got a cowardice vibe from him. But I guess it must be in his nature and its the integral component separating he's love and 4ths. Glad Wook's cancelled now lmao.
I honestly have really, really grown fond of 14th. I didn't think I would, but I have because honestly, he's the one that's learnt to really stick by Soo and has shown her this affection that I feel like I can't describe with the other princes. Like he genuinely cares for her wellbeing and he truly appreciates how he's changed the world for him. Idk. It just kinda meant a lot when he knelt with her. Same with 13th. Like honestly, I truly appreciate Jung and Baek Ah's as characters.
Urgh get rid of 9th lmao he did like nothing of merit until he got like 5 seconds of fame for being a snitch.

[SBS Drama 2016] The Legend of The Blue Sea Starting Jun Ji Hyun&Lee Min Ho
in Dramas
Posted · Edited by zus
I actually really like the drama, but def agree, the actors are carrying it more than anything. Anyways, my heart HURT as she sat like literally on the edge of hard rain with her green SATIN manolo blahnik's. What a wild chance they took, and more than anything, what a budget hahaha
