  1. Rooting for ONE although his audition wasn't great. Maybe nervous and obviously saddled with much more expectation this time around. Hopefully he settles down and does what we all know he can do.
  2. I feel like Jinwoo is probably the most over-rated contestant of the season. I started off really liking him (was even rooting for him before Top 10), but he never lived up to the promise of 'Satellite'. Each successive performance felt weaker than the previous. Part of it is possibly because he had less time to prepare new songs. Really interested to see where AYE ends up. She has the biggest potential imo.
  3. YES. Seriously where did all the boys go after Season 3? Only Seunghwan last season and Jinwoo this season.
  4. This season was marketed as being the 'best to date' but tbh it was the most drab. No truly unique singers, apart from Ah Ye-eun who only got the spotlight too late into the season. If they're doing another season, they need to widen the genre so its not just typical Gayo ballad singers and RnB/Soul singers participating. Get some rappers in there. Dancers. More groups etc.
  5. Will Ahn Ye-eun be given chance to chose as well? Like last season? I'd imagine Antenna gets the Top 2 like YG in Season 2.
  6. From todays performances I thought Ahn Yeeun would win. Guess the foreign factor worked. I feel like Season 5 will be a repeat of Season 3 in terms of legacy. No real standouts for future success.
  7. I'm surprised by her decision :o Antenna are backlogged on artists already... hope they get their shit together and let Jung Seunghwan out.
  8. I think Soo-jung will pick YG, but its not a sure-thing unlike Ah Ye-eun definitely picking Antenna.
  9. We know who both finalists will pick, so that takes away a bit of the thrill. Rooting for Soo-jung.
  10. JYP pisses me off. He's coming back mid-April. Which means he intends to perform a special stage during the Finale. Again. That stage should be reserved for Katie Kim. If KpopStar kisses his ass and gives him a special stage for a second year in a row, I'lll be very mad.
  11. Yeah.. Season 5 feels like a repeat of Season 3.
  12. I think Mazinger S will be the next departure, MAYBE Ye-eun if she messes up. Lee Sieun is going nowhere with her audience popularity.
  13. Sam Kim from Season 3 has debuted: Didn't chart but thats expected considering the 2+ year absence, the weakness of S3 and because its Antenna. Hope Jung Seunghwan does better on his debut.
  14. For some reason I feel the same. I don't understand why I don't like her when she gets all the praise. Maybe its because I preferred Joo Miyeon. Also, audience voting does not bode well for Mazinger S. They had high judge scores but ended up 4, probably because Lee Sieun (lower judge scores) had more audience votes.
  15. I think now its 50/50 between Antenna (Lee Sieun, Ahn Ye-eun) and YG (Mazinger S, Lee Soojung) in terms of who wins this season. Although Soo-jung may have changed after working with Yoo Heeyeol during Battle Rounds. JYP's last chance left after Yoo Jay was eliminated.
  16. I think Yoo Jay cannot win if she doesn't improve on her Gayo performances. She will always lose the audience vote singing an American song, especially when up against someone like Lee Sieun, who is extremely popular among viewers because of her Gayo credentials but not a favourite of the judges (understandably, because YG/JYP are very 'American' in their bias towards R&B and Antenna likes more unique voices).
  17. Some big changes need to be made for KpopStar 6: 1. Focus more on the music. Less background story; makes sure all contestants get screen time from the beginning. 2. Appeal to more diverse genres. This is the 3rd year in the row that the field has only been R&B and Gayo ballads. They need to bring in rappers, dancers, hip-hop, pop etc.
  18. !! Exactly. There's no way you can lose with a song like that. TBH she didn't sing it in a unique way that showed her personality either.
  19. Not true. For Top 8 battle, they split it into 2 episodes. Meaning that Top 8 battle = Top 8 and Top 7 live show. No difference. They save money through a smaller venue, no need to live broadcast (much more difficult to coordinate). Also, the production team likes pre-recording because they can edit and make sure the show goes as planned. The show came under fire last season for poor organisation in the live broadcast. The judges spoke too long sometimes, causing the show to run in to the time of the next show.
