  1. And yet it is still an easy choice for me. Chorong Fighting! Hayoung is a very very beautiful woman, but Chorong is #1 with me forever! It's all fan service.
  2. 6billion won meaning each member getting 1 billion won from group activities only.... thats like about 1.2million sgd not too sure whether that after acube took out their division or before they took out More than likely, that is before the cut, but we also don't know whether this is just from music sales and concert sales. How much does A-Cube get from merchandise sales, and then do they even share any of that with the girls. Then, how much does A-Cube get and then share with the girls for things like the Skoolooks promotions. I do remember reasind an article about the division of money, and the members in any group don't make a very big cut of the money because there are a whole lot of wedges in the pie. S-Cube gets some of the money, the members get some, but then they also have wardrobe people, hair and make-up stylists, choreographers, song writers and composers, etc... In other words, there are a whole lot of mouths being fed. However, with the other work the girls do, I am sure they get a much bigger cut of that stuff. Things such as the modeling for promotions, dramas/comedies, etc., I think the get a bigger cut, but how much, we can only guess. It really would be interesting to know how much they actually make. I think in the U.S., it is possible to find out how much anyone makes because of "freedom of information requests." I do think some thinks would be redacted from the tax forms, such as addresses and social security identification numbers, but I think that you can find out how much a person made in the previous years. It might cost some money, however, and it likely isn't cheap enough that your average fan will be interested in paying.
  3. I can only wonder at what they think of the comments here if they ever see this thread. *facepalm* Chorong has the ability to be cute, beautiful, and hot whenever she wants. She just chooses not to look hot, and go more with cute and or beautiful, due to her religious conservatism. Look at the Pink LUV jacket making video. You will see her looking very hot, but she gets embarrassed by the photographers reaction to her. LOL I think it makes her adorable. I think all of the girls have beautiful faces, hair and bodies, and all of them can look hot if they choose to. Bomi is no exception, and neither is Chorong. Chorong is just very conservative. I am OK with that. Her future husband will be getting a very beautiful woman whom he can trust.
  4. Not actually insulted. It was more of a question. Anyone who reads that post and the follow-up wall of text can better understand. But lazy minded can just assume that I was just insulted if it makes them feel better. I question whether they actually wrote that, since it is worded identically, and since it is actually something trivial when women tend too look much deeper. Things like loyalty, kindness, being gentle, a hard worker, passionate about life and career, etc... Add that to the fact that double eyelid surgery is the most popular procedure done, and the vast majority of idols have it done, if they don't already have double eyelid. In short, having double eyelids is a beauty standard. Anime characters have them. Etc.. So it caused me to question this. The only thing that makes sense is that they didn't write it, or they don't like guys having cosmetic procedures. All groups have at least some sasaeng fans. It is why all famous people have to be very careful about going into public. The more famous you are, the harder it is to just go out in public and relax. We can feel free to go anywhere we want on a whim. Famous people do not have that luxury. Immaturity. Some think that ratings actually matter. I could care less, though a friend saw negs. I laughed about it, but she thinks it matters, so she created an account and gave me all up votes. Got me 4 warning points. She was so upset and apologized, but I laughed even more and told her it is actually quite funny. Everything in life doesn't have to be serious. Like I told her, this does not affect my life in anyway at all. It doesn't cost me money, food to eat, the amount of sleep I'm allowed to get, etc...so it just doesn't matter. And I stated that very thing in one of my posts. In fact, I have seen many people have a preference, and then fall in love with somebody who has just the opposite, and that becomes their new preference. For instance, my best friend did not like blonds. He Like brunettes and to a lesser degree, red hair. Then he met a girl who was blond, and fell in love with her. Suddenly he loved blonds and said it was now his preference. I've seen the very same thing happen with a lot of people I know. Sometimes it was race, other times facial hair on men, other times it was a guy preferred shorter women, then met one as tall as he was and fell in love, then preferred tall women.
  5. Actually a quick google search shows that they did. There are obvious differences even between how some of them looked in the first few music videos and how they look now. But I say, who cares? The truth is, most people would get some procedures done but they can't afford to. If it were free, it wouldn't be 15 procedures for every 1,000 people. It would be a while lot higher than that. Easily 50 to 75% of people between 18 and 60 would get at least one procedure done, and many of them would get at least 2 or 3. SO it would be more like 2,000 procedures for every 1,000 people. Even here in the U.S., many people admitted that if it weren't so expensive, they would get some procedures. The only thing that would hold anyone back is fear of something going wrong, not some notion that there is something wrong with getting some procedures done. So anyone who has a problem with any idol having some procedures is probably just being a hypocrite. [edit] And yes, I know that some Asians naturally have double eyelids. I know many Asians here in the U.S., and I have been to Korea 4 times, and also been to Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong more than once.
  6. Except there was nothing foolish about the comment. Nothing untrue, nothing attacking, nothing except a question with some possible explanations. So let me explore why a few here seem easily butt-hurt over the post. I mentioned the fact that 4 of the girls seem to indicate that they want a guy with no double eyelids? Well, it is in the OP. I mentioned that the girls had some plastic surgery? Uhm...they did, and there are pictures of them with their doctors just before the procedure. So what, big deal. People need to stop acting like this is a big deal. Celebrities all over the world, from the U.S., to Europe, to Asia, get plastic surgery. They have to because the fans and critics are brutal. Nobody has a right to judge, and in no way was my post judging them on that. I've always maintained that idols getting procedures done is no big deal. I mentioned that it is possible these aren't the words of these girls, and could possibly have been written by a manager? If you don't think that happens in the entertainment industry, you are naive. That and a whole lot more is done. Image is very important. What the heck do you think "fan service" is all about? Fan service is fictional image presented to to increase the interest of fans. I mentioned that it is very likely that they will marry Asian men. How can this be a problem? It is actually very likely that they will. Then I state that they have good character by stating that, even though unlikely to happen, if they did marry a man whose is Latino, or Caucasian, and thus have double eyelids naturally, it wouldn't be an issue for them...not even one they have to overlook. The rest was just guessing at why it would be an issue for them. Especially since everywhere you turn, where kpop stars are being discussed along with cosmetic surgery, it is stated that double eyelids are seen to be a good thing, which is why so many kpop stars get the procedure. So smart guy, explain what was foolish? Or did a serious discussion just make you feel a little uncomfortable. Only weak people hid from serious discussions just because they can be a little uncomfortable. The truth is, I even now really wonder if the girls even wrote that. It took me by surprise that 4 of them would word it the same exact way, and that this would even be an issue to them, with all of the other things that women look for in a man that would be far more important. So I have to reverse myself. It does seem more like a manager wrote that. That would all make total sense to me if double eyelids weren't the #1 cosmetic surgery procedure that kpop idols get, and Koreans as a whole get done. Then add in that in the beauty polls, the idols that have it done are usually rated higher. In other words, if the Korean preference is for not having double eyelids, why is it seen as the number one thing you can do to make yourself better looking? The math doesn't work. See why it confuses me?
  7. I was reading the info on each girl in the OP, and noticed something interesting. in the spoilers, Each girl gives a few thing about their ideal man. 4 of the girls mentioned "no double eyelids." At first, it seemed kind of hurtful because...well...I'm Caucasian and Caucasians almost always have double eyelids. Then I also thought that this was a bit rude since all of the girls have had that procedure done. For most of the girls, I think that's the only procedure they had done. But then I thought about this for a few minutes, and and remembered a conversation me and some friends had with our girlfriends at the time. Even though all of them had had some minor procedures, they were all very emphatic in stating that men should not have cosmetic surgery. Us guys kept questioning them as to why they would feel so passionately this way, even though they had procedures. It took a lot of doing but they finally admitted that women want to enhance their looks to get a better quality guy to have children with. In other words, the better looking he is, the higher the odds that the kids will benefit from that in their looks. OK, so if guys get procedures to enhance their looks, then that undermines her search for the best genes for their children. We finally got them to admit to this because they kept using phrases like, "being tricked." In other words, they feared meeting what they thought was a guy with good looks, fall in love with him, get married, and then find out that he had a lot of work done. I kid you not, these girls were terrified at the thought of having kids with a guy who was not good looking naturally. This was what they meant by being tricked. They wanted a guy with good looks to pass on to the kids. If he was not good looking pre-surgery, then she got tricked. This made me think bout those girls answering that way. The more I think about it, they were only thinking about Asian men because the odds are that they will marry an Asian man. So what they are really saying is that they aren't attracted to men who have had cosmetic surgery that drastically alters the way they look. Because they work and live in Korea, it is highly unlikely that they would meet and fall in love with a man who is not Asian. However, if against all odds, they did meet somebody who was maybe Caucasian or Latino, and fell in love, I don't think the man's double eyelids would be a turn off to them because they are natural. Does that make sense? The only other explanation that makes sense is that they did not fill out that line. A manager at A-Cube might have. We do have to remember that this is the entertainment industry, and this industry has a long history of selling you false information if it helps them out. OK, so what if those 4 girls actually left that blank. Well, since according to the figures I found, Koreans have about 15 procedures done for every 1,000 people. Many more of those are for women. In short, very few men get that procedure done. So this would be an easy thing to put in there that would make fanboys feel good when they read it. I will say that of these two options, I think the first one is the more likely. However, if this is true, keep in mind that many male kpop idols get that procedure done. So how does that affect who you think these girls would pair up with if they were to fall in love with a male kpop idol? Of course, if the girls did fill that out, it was likely done pre-debut. It is possible that since they have had the procedure, and have been round so many male kpop idols, this may not even be a concern to them anymore. Anyway, just felt like discussing that. I'm pretty sure most people didn't even notice it, or give it much thought since most people here are likely Asian, and don't have double eyelids. I'm curious what others think about that now that I pointed it out. How many didn't even really notice that 4 of the girls said that?
  8. How can they not? SM had her listed as the #2 voice in SNSD. This was backed up by the way that only Taeyeon had more strong solo parts than Jessica. It is sad that they parted ways, and I assign no blame. Life happens, and people change, and as they change, what they want out of life changes. I wish these break-ups would happen in nicer ways so that bridges aren't burned. Think about how if they had not burned bridges, Jessica could still return once in a while for concerts, etc. Or, just as life changes such that they had to part ways, in a few years, it might have made sense for them to reunite. Parting as they did does not allow for this to happen. Same thing with Yookyung and Apink. It's sad that she can never reunite with the group. But such is life. SNSD will still be strong and make good music in the future.
  9.   Tired excuses.  People don't hide forever.  This is always the tired excuse to try to claim that there are so many more gay people...you just can't count them because they are hiding.   As for the last part, there is a very active group such as yourself that would be sure to let everyone know if a former celebrity was seen doing something.  We see this all the time...a celebrity who is a has been suddenly makes the news because they did something newsworthy, such as getting in a drunk driving accident, or their marriage beaks up, or they commit some crime, or one was committed against them.  Happens all the time.  The same would be true if any gay person saw a celebrity that was hiding the fact that they were gay, but then slipped up and was seen doing something, it would be instant fodder for the internet.
  10.   Kpop has been around for along time now.  A couple of decades now.  Many groups have come and gone.  How many have come out since then?  After making the money, they can move to countries where it is less closed, such as the U.S., Canada, or even Australia where same sex marriage has been accepted and legal for decades, etc...  I know if I were forced to hide who I was for the sake of my career, I would be very motivated to not hide it once my career was basically over.  Also, unless you simply do not act out your sexuality, unless you are celibate, you would eventually slip up and people would see something.   The truth is that there are gay people, always have been, and always will be, but it is not "a lot" of people, it is a very small minority.
