  1. I don't post here a lot, but this is one of those times where I really want to.
I discovered T-ara way back in 2010. They were my first exposure to K-pop, and while I have gone on to like other groups, they have always remained the most special to me. They've grown, and I've grown, so much in 7 years. I was a freshmen in high school then, and I'm a senior in college now. Just like them, I've been through many ups and downs, and I couldn't imagine growing up without them.

I understand Boram and Soyeon wanting to leave, and I have no ill feelings towards them for doing so. They've carried so much pain since 2012, and are in their 30's now. The majority of their peer groups have disbanded or gone inactive, and 3rd gen groups are all young and rising now. I'm glad that they finally have a chance to move on, and relax.

As for the other 4 members, well, I'd like more group comebacks, but I can also understand wanting to move on too. I hope that if they leave in December, that MBK lets them go peacefully, and that we can have a reunion as 6 sometime in the future.

  2. Regardless of whether or not people think it's a good or bad decision, the fact is that Chaeyeon IS returning to DIA for their June comeback. DIA will be her future after IOI promos end, so her stans have no choice but to support them. Also, many DIA fans were/ are Queens, and are used to tons of hate.

And wasn't this the plan all along, for the girls to promote with IOI and their company groups? I believe Dream Girls promotions will end at the end of May, so I don't see DIA's schedule conflicting with IOI's. She'll miss a couple of days of activities for the MV filming, but its really not that uncommon for members to have individual schedules that take precedence over group schedules.

  3. This is amazing news for DIA, how many MBK acts get a second chance to comeback? If it weren't for Cathy and Chaeyeon joining Produce 101, then you could bet they'd be disbanded by now.

And to those people hoping DIA fails....  :._.:  IOI is a temporary group, their hype won't last forever. The companies need to think about their own future at some point, and investing all your time into something that won't stay isn't smart.

  4. It will depend I think... Hedging my bets as usual.... Does Chaeyeon have large enough coat tails to turn DIA into a success, frankly, I have my doubts for several reasons...

    - it will have to depend on the song....

    - how much of a part does Chaeyeon play in DIA... Will it be Chaeyeon + DIA?

    - Chaeyeon if I recall correctly was not too comfortable with the DIA concept, so does DIA evolve to accommodate her?

    - DIA group leader? Will this be Chaeyeon? At this point in time, Chaeyeon is not there yet, but this my opinion... Her personality when compared to Nayoung, Sejeong, Yoojung, Somi is somehow less colourful if you want to use that term...

    - Group dynamics, the chemistry will certainly change with Chaeyeon's new found popularity so that will be a huge challenge...

Anyhow... We can only wait and see how the story unfolds... We can only wish her luck though, because it's going to be tough...

Chaeyeon was always DIA's center/ visual. MBK won't have any issues pushing her the most since they already did that back then. She appeared in Eunjung's solo MV, was in T-ara's web drama, and even did a V-app show with them.

They'll probably change concepts, not only for Chaeyeon and Cathy, but because their last one wasn't successful.

Their first leader left, so either Eunice (oldest member) or Cathy (most charismatic)  will most likely be the leader.

And the group dynamics won't be an issue, since again the other members will be used to Chaeyeon and Cathy being more popular.

  5. No wonder Sejeong has been sick. Her and Mina have had to prepare for IOI's debut, while also preparing for Jellyfish's girl group debut. And on top of that, they're actively promoting, appearing on music shows, filming CF's, hosting fan events, etc. How the in world are they going to manage to perfect another song and choreography within a month while doing all of this?

  6. For those who follow DIA, I was wondering... was Chaeyeon ever this smiley when she debuted with DIA? Because she was glowing this debut... she looked so happy!

This was DIA's debut stage, she was very smiley, but it seems like a choreographed smile, if that makes sense.

I think now it seems more genuine, because she's already debuted once, and done badly. Now that she's got a second chance to debut in a super successful group, it must feel like achieving a dream that she thought for sure was impossible.

  7. I wanna be as supporting as possible but since she's not going to read it, fuck it.

Hyomin's new mini has really nice songs but I can't stand how breathy she sounds. It sounds like she's trying too hard to sound ...I don't even know how. Sultry, RnB? Whatever it is, it sucks and she sounds like she's trying too hard and it makes me cringe; me, who loves her voice and would eat it, if it were somehow an edible item. And honestly, even in Roadtrip she sounded weird to me. All in all it really ruins some very good songs.

Then there's the issue with the lives. Her showcase, first half of it at the very least, was cringy as all fuck. She looked like she never performed solo before. The second and better half of it wasn't very good either.

And the music video. I get that she's hot, I love that about her but seeing her act overly sexy and dancing a too obviously sexy choreo was more uncomfortable to watch than t-ara bo peep bo peep cat make-up photos. She's sexy, probably the sexiest in her whole company, but she really didn't seem in her element here. It felt like she was trying too hard(again), and I'm sure that's common in sultry concepts like this but she does not fit it. She's more of an upbeat, fun type of sexy(like Nice body), and while I bet she could  pull this off too, she needs to work on/regain her confidence more.

Like jesus fuck, what the the hell happened to, arguably, the best performer in the group(at least until 2012/2013)? I get that the scandal affected her, maybe more than the others, but she still seemed to have it together during her last solo, for the most part anyway. The hell happened?

Now I know this comes off as bashing(to an extent it is) and I don't know how hard she has it in her life, but I'm just very bummed to see my favorite girl in k-pop look like such a wreck who's never been on a stage, especially when I know she can do so much better than this. Truthfully I admire her ambition and determination, which she's proven have in abundance ever since t-ara's debut, to still go on, but I worry about her. And not one of you will believe me because bashing is so bad(!) but fuck it. I had to get it off my chest.

I do agree with many of your points, despite being a Hyomin stan. I think the 'breathy' thing comes from all the falsetto she's using for these songs. They're simply too high pitched for her, out of her range. I don't know exactly who's idea it was to compose songs like these, but they don't suit her voice at ALL.

Gold is a good example of a song where she can sing in her voice's natural range, using falsetto minimally. As expected, it sounds much better, more refined.

  8. Ug.  That thing I pm'd some people with is starting to show up more and more places, looks like it's going to be hard to swat.  If it ever gets posted on OH I can destroy it tho :)

I saw you last night post something about this, now I'm extremely curious about what it is. But I don't post often so I didn't ask. Is it really that bad?

  9. so I heard there was a another nugu trainee in the show who is already in a group too lmao ... I seriously think this is fine for DIA at this rate

Yea, I saw on Produce 101's Facebook page that trainees in the project could debut at any time in their agencies, which makes sense for Cathy and Chaeyeon since they apparently signed up for it in May.

  10. I just wanted to say that your sig is the single best thing on this forum.

    That is all.

:ahmagah:  Thanks, I was just re watching old videos and forgot how awesome she was there, made a couple of gifs quickly. Almost chose this one instead. OlQAYhl.gif
