F2 isn't 'really low', you mix G5 ? or is it included in the falsetto thing. Anyways I can't tell you your voice type from this but either ways, male voices do need to lighten up if they want to access the fifth octave. A baritone isn't supposed to sing there actually, that's just too high for a baritone to mix, like really high. Tenors on their side are only meant to sing up to C5/C#5, which requires a LOT, like a LOT of skill to be able to mix C5 properly with some sort of balance, like there are really, really few tenors in the music industry who can mix C5s properly, so all the other tenors with various skills tend automatically to use a heady mix to access the 5th octave, accompanying it with various vocal faults (high larynx, throat tension, tightness etc). Accessing the fifth octave is only for extremely skilled tenors, so everyone else will less skill will lighten up there and will, lowkey, strain it anyways.
Yup I mix the G5 apparently (and it's heady af). The C6 is with falsetto.
I can only mix properly until around A4. And then I start to automatically goes too heady. And I can't keep a neutral larynx around C#5.

They're not very different. G#3 ~ B4 for Ariana, G#3 ~ C5 for Demi .. That's where they support, but even then Demi is inconsistent there and both of them have a lot of tension above that...it's tension, lack of true support.. They're not very different.. I've explained it before so idk would you like anymore detail lol
haha because I like a more detail/complex analysis. Like I've read your blog -> KPOP Vocal Analysis on Wordpress and they're so precise.
But then when I want to search analyses for non-Kpop singers, they aren't very well detailed. I haven't seen one analysis that is like yours.
And their analyses are sometimes biased. I don't really get Critics Of Music ranking Adele, Demi, Ariana and Lady Gaga in the same category (A list). I mean Lady Gaga deserves that spot imo. Demi and Ariana should be B and Adele C perhaps? lol her technique sucks

are you a tenor ?
lol apparently idk yet. The thing is surprisingly, I can go really low and really high (for an untrained person)
Like I can hit an F2 and my highest note are G5 and C6 (with falsetto)
and idk how to explain my voice, but I like to stay in the lower register and my voice has a dark tone there.

Well it's less chesty cause it's G5, carrying to chest that high is hard but its still overly thickened
How is she compared to Ariana Grande? Cuz I learned that both of them aren't as good as people make it out to be. Like Demi's problem as you said. And Ariana has like jaw, tongue tension and also high larynx.

G5s will obviously not be chesty because that's just a high belting note and you can't really bring the chestiness up there, you need to lighten up in a way to be able to at least mix it, but it's still VERY tense and pushed with a high larynx, it's very distorted and tight, it's just strained
I have a tendency to sing with a very heady mix when I try to enter the 5th octave. Is that okay? I'm afraid if it's too low. I'm a guy btw.

I said I wasn't sure when I said it so rest. Good placement? It sounds louder but I hear the nasality still.
Demi is just a REALLY chesty pushed light lyric. She tries REALLY hard to sound like she has a bigger voice than her natural tone, so she sounds distorted, artificially thickened in tone and just she damages her voice a lot with the amount of weight she tries to add to her tone.
So she did not properly mix her voice then? But some says that her upper belts are a lot less chesty. like her G5 especially on 1:14 mark.

In the OP you mentioned Demi is a light lyric. But why do I feel like she's a full lyric. Her belts sound so full lyric (though that must be because she's lowering her larynx too much to create a big sound)
hmm... thoughts?

What do you think of Minzy

Dem moves tho :ahmagah:

wow.... she hasn't sound light for quite a few years....
Looks like she's finally "accepting" herself as a light lyric? lol
