I observed many of you in this thread became a fan of Super Junior in their Sexy, Free & Single era so I thought it would be interesting for older posters here to show you how Super Junior and ELF used to be in 2011.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the beginning of 2011 ELF were organizing Organized Bulk-buys with K-ELF and international fansites as well as giving SJ's 5jib comeback its own slogan:

 

The Return of the Superior

 

 

Fans discovered @GoodwillBeats made a song for Super Junior's new album called 'Gotcha Numba' (later on called Be My Girl) [Source 1]

 

He became and ELF and promised Super Junior fans he would make a song for E.L.F [Source 2]

 

And he did [Source 3]

 

 

Girls, do you remember this?

 

This song is still selling on iTunes (I don't remember well but I think they were suprised on the many downloads they got for that song.

After a while...

 

 

Super Junior released their unconventional individual teaser pictures and announced that the album would have 10 indvidual members covers [sHOCKER!!!]

 

Seriously they were the talk of the town at that time (see below)

But ELF were hyped to break records so Mr.Simple's MV release article in AKP had almost 25k comments in 1 day

 

 

Talking about comments, did I tell you Mr.Simple became #2 most commented video EVER on Youtube (losing only to Justin Bieber's 'Baby' back then)?

 

 

Yeah, with more than a million comments

 

It should probably be still up there in the Top20 or so these days

 

 

Meanwhile in Korea the song's digital sales were like this

500k+ Mr.Simple albums were sold within 6 months

 

 

Super Junior won at least 70 awards that year. I say at least because when it reached 70 me and my friends stopped counting.

 

Some of those awards included Allkpop Awards (SJ were nominated for 4 and won all 4)

 

I seriously don't remember SJ losing any voting that year

Super Junior bagged 3 in 2011 and 2 in 2010(?) (Super Junior is the only kpop artist to have received them).

 

Super Junior won all Daesangs (and a Bonsang on Melon Awards) including Seoul Music Awards' win that year.

 

 

 

We used to be very busy voting, streaming, searching and buying back in 2011 and it was tiring as hell but I think most fans will agree with me that Mr.Simple was the best era ever. We made many friends back then and most of them are still here today. Even though we were physically exhausted from entering in fanwars (it used HELL back then, nothing today can come close to the number of bullshit ELF had to deal with in 2011. I can't blame most of them for leaving forums like OH ever since); defending ourselves from 'alliances rumors' and doing our fandom job, I think most of us cherish these memories and even feel nostalgic about them. I know I do.
