i'm a pretty big sm fan, have been from the start...but i understand why they lack appeal to non-fans and the kr general public

 

from styling to song choices to the dramas they make their idols do, etc...most of it just seems outdated...which is why slowly they're losing popularity with international fans as kpop gets bigger

 

nct is prob the most "trendy" thing they've done but sadly their concept isn't catching on

 

sm is becoming like those fashion brands that are well established and known by everyone...but no one actually gets hyped for...like michael kors or coach

Also for someone who seems super concerned about charts you don’t really know much about it. Gaon only reports rankings Weekly and numbers + rankings Monthly and both versions of the album will be released in the same week. Hanteo is daily, but music shows only care about weekly too.

 

RV outsell SKZ if you’re right about 77k, even TPRV, a repack, has over 90k on Gaon.

 

Anyway it’s good if Red Velvet are successful but it’s not the end of the world if they’re not. This doomsday talk before the song is even out is kinda bizarre and I’m one of people who constantly update their charts thread.

 

as much as i want rv to be successful, i'm happy as long as they continue to release high quality music

 

rv are one of the few kpop groups that have gotten recognition and praise from korean music critics
