  1. Hey there. So how did you good people learn how to pitch notes? I swear I have yet to grasp it and any helpful tips would help. Also any apps you use when there's no piano/guitar in your immediate area?
  2. Didn't expect so many responses =). Thanks a lot for them.
  3. I have a question if anybody's willing/able to answer about low larynx singing. When singing high notes with a low larynx, which is pretty rare in contemporary music, are the chest voice muscles automatically engaged, resulting in a bigger, chestier sound than it would otherwise be with a more neutral larynx, or does it just give it a 'darker' sound without affecting chest/head voice ratio necessarily?
  4. I kind of noticed Yurino and Sayaka leading the choreo together pretty often, but I always just figured it's because they're the best dancers(I think at least Sayaka has been called that by someone from their company, right?)
  5. Is Suda a particularly popular member? Because I've noticed at some point, kinda of late, that she's often at the centre of choreos, especially in Happiness but in E-girls too(I think? I listen to Happiness more than the larger group). And the more I watch their videos the more she seems to be in the center lol. I like her and all but I'm a bit surprised.
  6. This will sound dumb, but what's the difference between an idol group and whatever e-girls are? Never thought there was any real difference.
  7. I liked Shuuka's short hair in Monochrome a lot but otherwise I really like her better with long hair. I mean I guess it does suit her since it gives her a more, eh, serious look which goes with what I've seen of her attitude/character, but I'm still hanging to my first impression of her from Shuukaren's 'Universe' video which made her seem like she's the girlier/sensible sister(at least to me).
  8. Nice. Yeah, I only saw a few subbed videos so far, most of them on dailymotion. Anyway Kaede has really caught my eye she's such a bae it's ridiculous, I'm just not sure how much she's into girls, she really doesn't seem that way to me ;(. But while she's pretty chatty she also has a certain restrained air to her imo so who knows. She kind of fits some stereotypes, like being kind of boy-ish, something I think the other members also mentioned, she even said she had trouble sitting in a girly manner. And her ring finger is longer than her index, which according to some makes her likely to be a lesbian. Personally I think it's kind of shoddy, since the only conclusive finding about that is that girls with longer ring fingers than index fingers were exposed to more testosterone in the womb, which can account for more masculine features/behavior, and there are certainly enough feminine lesbians and straight tomboys to jumble things up. But still, I think it's a factor worth looking at when trying to determine someone else's sexuality. Anyway, sorry for posting this in the k-pop section but there's no japanese section equivalent :(. Also, I'm curious what you think about the index/ring finger ratio thing.
  9. Not really relevant to k-pop but does anyone here follow E-girls? They're a japanese group that I've become very interested in, especially the Happiness subgroup.
  10. I don't know the password to it. I have it saved on my other computer, so when I'm at my dad's, I use this(to which I also don't know the password lol).
  11. That's cool. I don't. Learn to deal with it or stop hanging out on forums where people might disagree with you. Also, and this is really important, none of the girls will read this forum or would even understand much of what is being posted, especially by a jackass with no display picture(that being me, though it'd be the same even if I were on my other account that has a dp, they just wouldn't care). So kindly calm your tits.
  12. I wanna be as supporting as possible but since she's not going to read it, fuck it. Hyomin's new mini has really nice songs but I can't stand how breathy she sounds. It sounds like she's trying too hard to sound ...I don't even know how. Sultry, RnB? Whatever it is, it sucks and she sounds like she's trying too hard and it makes me cringe; me, who loves her voice and would eat it, if it were somehow an edible item. And honestly, even in Roadtrip she sounded weird to me. All in all it really ruins some very good songs. Then there's the issue with the lives. Her showcase, first half of it at the very least, was cringy as all fuck. She looked like she never performed solo before. The second and better half of it wasn't very good either. And the music video. I get that she's hot, I love that about her but seeing her act overly sexy and dancing a too obviously sexy choreo was more uncomfortable to watch than t-ara bo peep bo peep cat make-up photos. She's sexy, probably the sexiest in her whole company, but she really didn't seem in her element here. It felt like she was trying too hard(again), and I'm sure that's common in sultry concepts like this but she does not fit it. She's more of an upbeat, fun type of sexy(like Nice body), and while I bet she could pull this off too, she needs to work on/regain her confidence more. Like jesus fuck, what the the hell happened to, arguably, the best performer in the group(at least until 2012/2013)? I get that the scandal affected her, maybe more than the others, but she still seemed to have it together during her last solo, for the most part anyway. The hell happened? Now I know this comes off as bashing(to an extent it is) and I don't know how hard she has it in her life, but I'm just very bummed to see my favorite girl in k-pop look like such a wreck who's never been on a stage, especially when I know she can do so much better than this. Truthfully I admire her ambition and determination, which she's proven have in abundance ever since t-ara's debut, to still go on, but I worry about her. And not one of you will believe me because bashing is so bad(!) but fuck it. I had to get it off my chest.
  13.   Assuming you're searching for Bb4s sung by main vocalists, why no Yesung? He's one of the main ones in his group every bit as much as Kyu and Wookie.
  14.   Is it a big difference? Are Jongkook's stylictic choices part of why you think so? Also, you mentioned that V mixed G4/A4 earlier, I think? Would the note at 3:50 expand his known range? Can't for the life of me tell how high it is(it's the screamy singing during Jimin's falsetto).    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQmpVHUi-0A   I'd give a link to one of the few live performances where he actually does it, but I can't find any and it should be the same pitch.   Sorry if I'm bugging you.
  15.   So would you say V is better than Jungkook overall or is Kook still the best one in BTS?
  16.   Wait. P.O is considered better than Taeil? For real? How so, the guy's a rapper with a few singing parts mostly.
  17.   I see, but he's probably a pretty high one right? Like, light lyric or whatever those are called.
  18. Can anybody familiar with BTS confirm if V is really a baritone or not? Because his voice has some considerable weight but I'm not sure if it's enough to label him as one, he could just be a bad low tenor? Here are some of his more proeminent singing parts, including his cool but badly done growls, if anyone is curious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlU0MkJewUI
  19.   Ah thanks, I didn't think of that :D       Why does everyone ignore Liam? :( Dude's pretty good.
  20. Is the tessitura something that can be expanded as you get more skilled? For example if a tenor or a good high baritone learns to sing A4/B4s more or less perfectly, can he theoretically sing only in A4/B4s or does he still need to go back to a certain range after a while? Now I know there's no song that requires only A4/B4s, I'm just curious because this tessitura thing is a bit confusing. I heard that if you learn how to sing effortlessly than you can sing in any part of your range as much as you want, but apparently it can still be tiresome? Any answers would be appreciated.
  21.   Interesting. You should analyse Liam, his voice is heaven :P. Anyway, is it true that a baritone shines/is the strongest in the low register while a tenor's best in his mixed/falsetto?
