  1. I agree she didn't do well as leader for Veryx3 but I see leader potential in her with how she leads the Woollim girls. She is the anchor to the group of Woollim trainees. One more reason as to why I don't think Eunbi is a good center is that she feels reserved onstage. Skills wise she is good enough to be in the final group.
  2. I should be more clear. I think we have different threshold as to what constitutes viral. The moments I list down were moments that actually lead to real support for the trainees. All those lead to more votes for the boys. Following is just my opinion regarding your list of viral moments this season:- At the beginning Kojima Mako and Goto Moe made the biggest stir with their PR videos, both went viral. Moe has been able to keep that going (Mako :() - We'll have to wait but I feel that Moe will fall when one-pick comes. Or maybe before that. Nako and her high note went viral - I'm not sure if she went viral.. feels more like that performance lands her on the voters radar + she proved herself worthy of a spot in the top 12. Miu and Sae both went viral - The effect of their fancams remains to be seen. I feel like it's mostly male fans viewing their fancams and I hope the views will lead to votes. Boombayah Team 2 went viral - Views were high but I'm not sure if they gain much real support from this. Chiba Erii specifically went viral - Real support remains to be seen. We'll have to wait for the votes to reset. Hitomi Honda and her dance skills were on trending (Though I wouldn't call it viral to be fair) - She has what Koreans like in their idols. She got some effective screentime. She's cute. Decent skills. Good attitude. Hence her rise. Noe in Episode One went viral - Only for variety reasons imo. She is not viewed as a real contender for the final group. Miyu in the first episode went viral - Similar to Nako I don't count this as viral. The performance lands her on the voters radar. What really saved Miyu was her Youtube channel. Also her decision to cover Dean's Instagram in Korean. They'll need to give screentime to other trainees that will create buzz for the show. I think because she is on the older side among trainees. And most of the potential members are young. She suits being a leader more than center imo. She feels similar to Jonghyun as a leader. Strict and disciplined. Kaeun feels similar to Jisung as a leader. A softer approach in leading members based on what I have seen in PAB Team 2 bts. I'm surprised to see someone mention Jiu on this thread. She is a good performer onstage. Girl deserves to be more popular.
  3. Agreed. Heo Yoonjin (Pledis). I think Mnet might push her in the future episodes. They are giving her some screentime recently. My reasons as to why she fits to be center:- Natural onstage Good stage presence / projection Can sing and dance well Visual Tall with quite good proportions Funny Flexible image (I think she can carry various concepts well) She has been getting some screentime for various reasons and I feel she will rise. Hopefully she can be a contender for center. You brought up a really good point. Emotional attachment is what made S2 so popular. Agreed. There's nothing really interesting going on atm. ----------------------------- Last season by ep. 5, we have Sorryx2 team going viral, Boys In Luv teams drama, Jihoon went viral with his aegyo, Woojin's fancam trending etc. Personally I think the lack of good performances kinda drag this season down. Apart from Nako's huge moment, none of the performances really leave a huge impact like the past 2 seasons. Also feels like the votes are not really flowing in like season 2. Maybe because this season is a girls season and not boys season. If the votes don't flow in the rankings are gonna remain pretty stagnant unlike S2 where a good moment can propel a trainee up really high in the rankings. Anyway I think we'll have to wait for the vote reset and 1-pick to get an indication of the trainees inidividual popularity. As to the ratings, the first few episodes will set the tone for future episodes. For example, Idol School started off well but dropped badly by ep. 2 because they lost the interest of their audience. Imo ep. 4 was pretty terrible.. all the teams have the same stories and there's nothing interesting or new regarding their struggle. Plus the performances were not memorable. I think High Tension Team 2 did well but Mnet didn't really give them much screentime. Anyway what done is done and now Mnet will have to do something to salvage the show. Am I the only one who thinks the center and dance battle this season are ridiculous? At least in S2 I can understand why the winners are the winners but this season.. Based on the votes number, the current top 12 are not really solid. Like others have said I can see the rankings change a lot if anyone outside of top 12 gain momentum.
  4. Some people on reddit made an interactive ranker for people to sort and keep track of their personal top 12. Only available on desktop atm. Check it out if you guys are interested. 5. Yep agreed. Basically popular J-trainees = strong stan attractors in kpop. Examples of strong stan attractors kpop idols are Taeyeon, GD, Baekhyun, Jimin etc. Tbh I think all J-trainees are to a certain extent stan attractors due to the nature of 48 groups. Bibian / Vivian for example appeal to a specific niche imo. This is the advantage J-trainees have over K-trainees. What the K-trainees have over J-trainees are their skills and training.
  6. Mnet has also shown Wonyoung's personality through Very Very Very bts and her reactions to the performances for group evaluation. That is a huge edge over Yireon. Wonyoung is also more engaging when she performs. Yireon is the 'cold' type onstage. It just feels like people like her visual and wouldn't mind her taking a spot in top 12 but she will not be the first pick for most. Anyway like I said before there is a limited number of spots for pure visual picks without any notable combination (exp visual + personality + rap for Ahn Yujin etc.). With visual picks coming from both K and J sides, some of the visual picks are definitely going to fall.
  7. Interesting.. personally Yuri and Shihyun are on the last few spots on my list for people who has a chance to make it to final elimination. Yeah she'll need that to have a chance to make it. I'm not saying she cannot make it. It's just that her upside is kinda low compared to a few other trainees that I predict will rise for various reasons and do well with one-pick. IP season for girls? I thought S2 is already in the making for boys?
  8. I think Yireon will fall when one-pick comes. PAB is an indication of her peak i.e. the best she can be. She is really pretty and graceful but it feels like that's it? I really don't think this will be enough to maintain her spot in top 12. I'm assuming she's not a good vocalist or rapper, not a personality pick and not good at variety. If she can show another side of her, she has a chance to make it. If Mnet wants a Chinese member in the line-up she'll be in. Not sure about the real support for Erii. We'll see. Also not sure about the solo fandom for Kaeun and Moe. Also have some doubts about Eunbi. Miu has a chance to make it. She's on the radar now. J-trainees rank atm is probably something along this Sakura / Nako Miyu / Hitomi / Moe Miu -----------------------------There's a pretty big gap here Juri ? Chiyori ? Erii TBD K-trainees are much harder to rank. I don't see clear signs like the J-trainees. Frontrunners are probably Yujin, Wonyoung, Yena, Kaeun, Eunbi, Yireon, Gyuri, Yoonjin, Chaeyeon, Goeun and Yuri?.
  9. This is a very good read. Thank you for sharing. It takes a lot of courage to said out loud what she just admitted in the speech. ---------------------------- OH poll results at the time of this post
  10. The J trainees in-line are Miyu / Hitomi / Moe and maybe Miu imo. Miu is rising rapidly. Feels like she is rising at a faster rate than Hitomi's rise. With the ranking reveal between ep. 1 and 2 https://ajyu124.github.io/p48ranking/ Without the ranking reveal between ep. 1 and 2 http://luckybot.io/p48.html
  11. No idea. They didn't really announce much details about this collaboration thing.. I only remember the final group will be a global group, promote in Korea and Japan, 12 members with no cap on nationality, members can promote under their own management in addition to P48 group promotion, Han Sung Soo and Aki-P to participate in the production of the debut album.. idk what else. ---------------------------------- Everyone has their own take on the situation between Jurina and Sakura. And they themselves have their own way in handling it. There is no right or wrong but rather whether you agree or disagree with their actions. I wish people can give the girls some space and time. Just let them be.
  12. I have some major concerns regarding the Japanese trainees.. from position evaluation onwards it will be brutal. The real competition begins here. Ep. 5 will be the first time we get to see them after the group evaluation i.e. their current condition. They pretty much won't get any rest until they are eliminated / when the show ends. The J trainees have work experience as idols but with the schedules they have, it will be much tougher for them. Either their performance will suffer or they'll have to bulldoze through the whole thing and end up with deteriorating health. Also can they take the stress and expectations.. Anyway I just hope the girls will be ok by the end of the show. It will be some tough months ahead. Trainees who rise to the occassion will have a chance to make it when they debut. After debut the idol world is just Produce all over again but they'll be competing against all the idols in Korea. This is why I want some experienced / older members in the line-up. The group need some strong good leaders to push them through once they debut. I'm assuming the final P48 group will promote just like Wanna One with some major difference since the J members will still be active in Japan. Maybe a double debut in Korea and Japan ? All the best girls.
  13. I wish nothing but the best for Jurina. Just hope she is healthy and happy. I don't know AKB48 well but from what I have read on this thread, Jurina has been truly dedicated to her career. It's sad that this kinda taint her Senbatsu win but I believe she will come back stronger. All the best to her.
  14. Ahn Yujin (Starship) looks like Jung Somin. Heo Yoonjin (Pledis) looks like Kim Jiwon (actress) + T-ara Jiyeon. Mnet gave Yoonjin a great edit. She did well as center for High Tension Team 2. Apparently she was only a trainee for 6 months. Girl is a natural onstage. And she checks most of the requirements to be an idol. Might be lead vocalist. Can dance well. Visual. Charismatic. Funny (based on ep. 3). Tall. Good proportions. Out of all the trainees she is the most 'complete' trainee imo. She is still my final C pick. Skills talent wise Lee Chaeyeon (WM) is great. She don't get enough credit as a vocalist. Girl is a lot better than most trainees going for lead / main vocal. Probably lead vocalist level too. And she is a really good dancer. The only thing she lacks is visual. She has a chance to make it to top 12 but it will be a very tough fight. She'll be going in as the underdog if she makes it to the final. This episode really solidified the spots for Sakura, Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung in the top 12. Like everyone else have said Ahn Yujin is a strong contendor for center. Girl is an all-rounder too + personality. Wonyoung is a great center (another all-rounder) but if she is the final C I feel like the concepts they can do will be limited due to her cute lovely image + age. She can be center for cute and refreshing concepts. From the little I have seen, I think Yoonjin, Yujin and Wonyoung are not the girlish type of girls. All are funny, kinda dorky and silly. All have the personalities to be C tbh. They are really likable. Anyway interesting edit from Mnet. I guess they really didn't expect Miyu to be such a strong contender for top 12. If this continues, I can only hope her fanbase + Youtube channel + performances to keep her in the debut line-up. She'll need to do well for position evaluation.
  15. Ehh they are very different imo. Hitomi is more to the cute side (looks a bit like Jaehwan, similar cheeks) but is independent, seems quiet, nonsensical ? attitude. Difference is Jaehwan was going for main vocal position she'll be going for main / lead dancer position. Juri looks and feels much more mature than the other two. Miu is pretty / visual route ? Her styling for PAB is similar to Tiffany in The Boys. Imo Juri will not make it. I feel like she won't fit in the final group looking at the other potential members. Both Hitomi and Miu might make it though with Hitomi having a much bigger chance than Miu atm. Miu's chance will depend on her future performances and various other factors.
  16. My picks Miyu (AKB48) / Yoonjin (Pledis) Nako (HKT48) Gyuri (Stone) - I see potential in her. All-rounder. Weaker dancer better vocalist. Good facial expressions and charisma onstage. Pretty. Yireon is the perfect center for PAB but I like Gyuri's take on PAB too. She adds more flair to it imo. Finalists - Top 20 / 22 / 24? depends on Mnet (will edit list based on current popularity) Kaeun Sakura Ahn Yujin (Starship) Wonyoung Nako Miyu Eunbi Moe Yena Jurina Heo Yoonjin (Pledis) Gyuri, Hitomi, Go Yujin (Blockberry), Chaeyeon, Minjoo, Yireon, Hyewon (high chances for them to make it to final) = up to here 18 spots taken Goeun, Miu, Erii, Saho, Juri, Choyeon, Doa, Sian, Chiyori, Yuri (frontrunners for the last few spots atm)
  17. Yep you are right. Article as reference. Old but I think still applicable today. https://www.allkpop.com/article/2010/08/how-much-do-singers-get-paid-on-music-shows ------------------------------------------------ Some random opinions / observations or whatever this is.. Nationality will not play such a huge role in terms of final top 12 line-up imo. Whoever popular will make it. I don’t think it’s so complicated ? When it goes down to one-pick, people will just vote for the trainee they like. I really don’t think they will purposely vote for Korean side trainees and abstain from voting for Japanese trainees. Only if the majority of the group ends up being Japanese will this affect the final line-up. Mnet will likely interfere then. But I do think nationality will play an important role in deciding the final C. It will probably be between the top J and K trainee or between the top 2 K trainees. It will be amazing if the final C is a Japanese trainee. She must be really popular and has something special in her. Something that transcends nationality. Or maybe Sakura will be the final C since she has so much more exposure than everyone else in the competition rn. Some of the visual picks are going to fall. Visual alone can probably carry a trainee up to concept evaluation / final elimination but to enter top 12 you need much more than that. Competition is relative. There can only be so many top visuals in a group (I'm talking about pure visual member contenders. Not someone who is a combo of visual + lead vocal or any other notable combo). Currently vocal positions are pretty bare for both main and lead. Same goes to rap position if they want someone who can legit rap. Ahn Yujin (Starship) is probably the top trainee for rap position if the group needs one. Anyway I think this role thing is not so important in Produce groups.. at the end of the day it's just a popularity contest. If this show is something like 70% of the popularity of S2, when the votes flow in, fandom votes alone will not be enough to debut a trainee. You definitely need a portion of the public to vote for you. Mnet's editing will play a huge role here. It will be amazing if they can debut at Gocheok just like Wanna One. I'm not familiar with the Japanese idol industry so idk how they will debut in Japan.
  18. Quoted for future reference. Thank you. So pretty. She will probably make it to final. She looks like Tzuyu to me. Somi, Ryujin and Yujin are similar. They all have this tomboyish silly charm, not the girlish type. Like I said before the type that will receive least hate. Also the type that girls like. I agree with your predictions.
  19. I'll do S2. Personally I think they will follow S2 but the benefit votes numbers seems to follow S1.. Mnet might change it a bit as the show goes on. Group evaluation (Ep. 5) - Online voting: 1 vote per day for 11 trainees + Onsite voting: 1 vote for 1 trainee out of all trainees from both teams covering the same song. 3,000 benefit votes per trainee for winning group of each song + Onsite votes for each trainee Position evaluation (Ep 8) - Online voting: 1 vote per day for 11 trainees + Onsite voting: Individual evaluation of all 60 trainees. Vote or abstain to vote for each trainee. 110,000 benefit votes for winner of each position battle (Vocal, Dance, Rap) + Onsite votes for each trainee Concept evaluation (Ep 10) - Online voting. 1 vote per day for 2 trainees + Onsite voting: 2 votes. Round 1 choose best team. Round 2 choose best trainee within the best team. Best team will get 220,000 benefit votes to be shared among members while best trainee will get extra 100,000 benefit votes on top of his share of benefit votes for winning team + Onsite votes for each trainee Final round (Ep. 11) - Online voting: 1 vote per day for 1 trainee + Offline voting: SMS voting during the final live episode. 1 Korean number 1 vote. Each SMS vote = 7 online votes. Votes will reset after each elimination.
  20. Some trainees are clearly hot favorites to make it to the final group but I'm kinda surprised people manage to come up with a full top 12 list of trainees who they think will make it to the final group. We are just at ep. 3.. I have a list of trainees I hope will make it to the final elimination (my picks) + list of trainees who I think have a chance to make it to the final elimination based on their current popularity. Imo none of the trainees are a lock for top 12 at this point of time. We have no idea which trainee will be strong in one-pick. I'm retracting my earlier opinion about Wonyoung being a lock. Anyway Sakura and maybe Yujin / Wonyoung are pretty close to a lock I guess but they are nowhere close to Park Jihoon's solo fanbase. In S2 he was the only lock from the beginning. Daniel only locked his spot after his fancams go viral. I have some doubts regarding their solo fanbases. Just my feelings. Current votes for Yujin and Wonyoung definitely overlaps. All 3 are still likely to make it though. If u guys follow the final episode of S2, spot no. 3 to 11 were up for grabs imo. The votes were close. And Mnet revealing some of the rankings definitely changed the final members. For example Daehwi (first center of S2) was likely the trainee at no. 11 when Mnet revealed no. 11 - 14. He only jumped to no. 3 after that with SMS votes. If this season has like 70% of the votes / popularity of S2, public picks will play a role in the final line-up. I also feel that in general male idol fans are much more fixed in their picks compared to female idol fans. So I think the rankings for this season will be more volatile.
  21. * Edited my post. Open Up is concept evaluation. For people new to Produce, we are currently at group evaluation. The next evaluation will be position evaluation followed by concept evaluation with original songs. Hmm what I mean by strained is that they did not sing the high notes with proper technique.. whether they improve in the future will depend on their practice. And I agree Miyu can improve her stage presence. She is probably not that comfortable yet onstage. Regarding the center prediction, it is just my wild prediction lol. I see the potential in her and no one else has impressed me. Also I see no Woojin yet. What made Woojin rise was his catchy rap line in 10 out of 10 followed by him topping the onsite votes in Get Ugly despite everyone else in the group ranking higher than him at that time and him pushing through Never (he did well) despite suffering from shingles. He was so sick he could barely stand. It will be hard to have a similar trajectory like him.
  22. I kinda predict her for center spot too but I think a stronger performer / dancer is needed for the C position. Hence the change to Yoonjin. But Miyu has the type of voice and singing style Koreans like. If she does as well as Sungwoon in the position evaluation for vocals, she has a shot for J center (if there is one) imo. But like I said before it is still way too early to predict the final Center(s). My picks atm : Miyu (AKB48) / Yoonjin (Pledis) Nako (HKT48) - she has proven herself enough. visual. great facial expressions. decent dancer. can sing. so girl is in for my final line-up. If it goes down to one-pick right now I will vote for Yoonjin and Miyu on alternate days lol.
  23. The high notes in High Tension by Yoonjin and Miyu were strained.. Anyway Miyu is pretty good technique wise when she is within her range. But it has been a while since I delve into vocal techniques so don't quote me on that. Imo what she has above other vocalists in P48 is her vocal tone. She has a beautiful clear voice. When I listen to some of her covers, it is the clarity of her voice + the emotions she delivered that sealed her spot on my list. My favorite cover on her Youtube channel There are some really good vocalists out there in Kpop but I like people who can understand the song they sing and actually deliver the message of the song to listeners. The emotions part is what makes a performance memorable. This is what sealed Sungwoon's fate in Produce S2. Technique wise he was not good in Downpour. But he really get the song. He relates to the song. He was desperate for a spot in top 11 and managed to convey it through his performance. And that convinced people to give their votes to him. Anyway I have a few reasons as to why Miyu is one of my picks for top 12 : She is a decent dancer who can keep up with Naekkoya so she is probably good enough for a KJpop group Stage presence wise she is quite good She is really good at song arrangements She is quite pretty Generally I like all-rounders. Usually vocalists. They may not be the best in anything but they need to be a certain level (my personal standard) in most aspects that matters to me for me to really like them. Btw I'm not trying to attack / convince anyone about Miyu. I'm just stating my thoughts about her. And my reasons. Everyone has their own preference so there is no need for anyone to conform to a single opinion. This is wild but my current prediction for final Center is Heo Yoonjin (Pledis) lol. Anyway its still way too early to predict the final Center. Daniel only sealed his Center spot after Open Up during position concept evaluation. So I think by then the next evaluation, we'll know the true contenders for the Centre spot.
  24. yeah i checked her views earlier on Youtube and she seems to be doing fine. just hope she will gain enough voters and go on to the next round. thank you! ohh i see the resemblance with Kim Minseok.. she does looks like him :O and yeah i agree. i think its the mix of her dead fish eyes and pouty mouth lol. really cute. and she lights up when she smiles. thanks for sharing ! Chiyori is really the variety queen of AKB xD thank you so much! really appreciate the effort.
  25. thank you. that is much better than what i expect of her popularity. i thought she never ranked in senbatsu like Miyu. at this rate girl is going viral. she is really adorable in the mukbang clip. from 1:12 onwards with strawberries, she looks so pretty when she smiles. she looks like the type of visual Koreans like. i'm still trying to figure out who she looks like...
