  1. I'm not sure about Moe's fanbase too but I need to see ep.8 rankings to rank her proper. J-trainees are much easier to rank atm compared to K-trainees.. List is made with the assumption that there are 6 spots for J-trainees. Sakura / Nako Miyu - she seems to have a different fanbase compared to other trainees. -------------------- Hitomi - close to the 4th spot. She has the characteristics Koreans like in idols. Cute, can dance quite well, team player, proactive etc. From here onwards I would say the remaining spots are up for grabs. ------------------- Moe Miu - her fancams trends mainly because of male fans. Not sure of the votes she can gain here. Every trainee needs female voters to vote for them. Long shot for everyone below. I cannot gauge the size of their one-pick votes. ------------------- Juri Miho Miru Noe Erii
  2. Just giving my thoughts on this. I could be wrong. Final top 12 ? Imo no I don't think so. Her image / the reason behind her popularity don't really fit the 'assumed' image of the final group. Also she has no notable combo (exp vocal + visual) and I don't think she stands out for her visual. She seems to have her own niche fanbase. Likely to do better with one-pick. Trainees with sexy image usually don't make it to the final line-up. General voters seems to prefer trainees with flexible image. Her ranking in ep.8 will be very telling of her chance to make it. To make it to the final top 12, all trainees need a certain amount of public support. More so for female trainees. Unless they have huge solo fandom like Jihoon, Daniel, Sejeong and Somi. Assuming there are 6 spots for Japanese trainees, 3 spots are probably taken. Sakura, Nako, Miyu. Hitomi, Moe and maybe Miu are probably next in line. And I think there are still quite a few Japanese trainees above her atm apart from the six J-trainees listed.
  3. Nah it is good to be in the know. Please post if you decide to translate. -------------- ITNW center / main vocal issue is a test for Yunjin. And personally I want to see how this whole thing unfolds. Yunjin did what she did and she'll have to face the consequences of her action. It is just how it is in Produce. This also reflects the reality out there for idols. She has a lot to offer to the final group but if this issue is big enough to obliterate all her pros and somehow she does not make it as part of final top 12, then it is just not meant to be.
  4. I just watched parts of ep.7 with subs. Comments are all about my current picks. Into The New World Nako - Very impressed with the way she handled Yunjin's appeal for center. A great team player. She knows how to navigate complicated situations. I kinda understand her thoughts based on what she said about this center / main vocal issue. She is mature beyond her age. Yunjin - Not the best move obviously but she did ok in terms of performance imo. Very curious to see how all this plays out. The F she got at re-evaluation might have affected her much more than what I thought of it. Flashback to what she said when she was in High Tension Team 2.. she said she lost confidence when she fell to class F. Hope she can gain back her confidence which I think she actually had before the Nekkoya re-evaluation put a huge dent on it. She is probably feeling uncertain about herself. The Truth Untold Miyu - Another great leader here. Very kind and sincere. Love the way she spoke to Gyuri. Great advice given along with Miho. I really like her. Reminds me of Jisung's advice to his fellow trainees. Gyuri - Another case of lost confidence here. The PAB edit destroyed her confidence. Hope she will gain some of it back with her TTU performance and team members help. Skimmed through the episode and I see a lot of great teamwork from the teams in this episode. I really like this.
  5. Chowon. Girl has a chance to break into final top 12. As of now similar trajectory to Woojin in S2. I actually posted that I don't see any trainee with similar trajectory to Woojin's yet before BBY Team 2 in ep.4 was aired. She is a pleasant surprise. Her winning the position evaluation for vocals though might affect Haeyoon's chance of making it. Both of them can make it (more likely one of them) under the vocalist quota if there is one but they'll need to nail the concept evaluation. Both of them seems like public picks so yeah smaller chance.. Having just the assumed 6 spots for K-trainees really reduce the probability of some trainees to make it. If this is a regular season, Chowon and Haeyoon would have pretty decent chance to make top 11.
  6. Not sure what I should reply to this.. anyway my post is more of a general observation of the show as a whole. I could be wrong. It's just my opinion.. If anything I think the main editor or production team for this season is not as 'alert' as S2. They are slow in picking up the points / trends that can make the show grow in popularity. Or maybe the whole CJ hidden intent in trying to break into the kpop market and monopolize it hinders the proper build up of a good season. They might have bite off more than they can chew. Guess I have the wrong impression on what the A means then. Though imo it is still more about whether the viewers can agree with the grades given out during company evaluation. This is a show trying to appeal to viewers so that they will make the effort to vote for the trainees and to get them to support their pick(s). And I think her A was hugely debated because most viewers just don't see A based on that performance. That is the impression I get from the whole issue about her initial A. Again I could be wrong. I'm just a typical viewer like everyone else. I too thought that she was the Sohye pick but there were some posts on this thread that said she is not even before ep.4. Think everyone jump the gun and didn't really think through about the edit she received. Sohye had a positive edit throughout S1 and yeah Erii got the negative side. ------------------------------- Some random thoughts here. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter who get the initial focus. Whatever the production team does, they first need to ensure the show is popular / hyped / gain attention for whatever reason that is. When the show is popular everyone in the show benefit from it (look at S2 top 35). From there it is up to the trainees to gain their fans / votes be it though skills, visual, personality, performance, storyline, identity, charm etc. and to maintain it even beyond the show. Obviously company politics also come into play but if the trainees are good at what they do, they will definitely gain traction be it big or small.
  7. Don't worry, your tone is ok. I understand. Lots of small issues.. I'll try to make a list. This is by no means complete. Weak main narrative for this season. Idk if they have a main storyline for this season yet. Sakura's initial A when compared to all the past A trainees from all seasons. The trainees Mnet focused on didn't deliver. S1 and S2 set the bar really high on this. Mnet basically focused on 2 teams from group evaluation in S2. Boy in Luv Team 1 and Sorry Sorry Team 2. BIL didn't deliver to the high expectations but the popular trainees from this team all have massive support for various reasons. SS Team 2 is as complete as a group evaluation can be. You have a complete group there. Fans and public love the group for what it is. A very well-loved team even now. Also major storyline here with Jonghyun and Hyunbin + Daniel rising for his fancam. Center battle and dancing queen battle. Too much focus on center drama for most / all groups. Lack of trainees who can take charge of their performance well. Basically skills. Last season have quite a few trainees who can choreograph and rearrange their songs quite ok. The trainers.. S2 has amazing trainers. And BoA. They are very hands on with the trainees. They are very encouraging to the trainees and tried their best to help them. I don't see this in P48. Amazing teamwork. I think there are quite a lot of good teamwork in this season during position evaluation but not during group evaluation based on what Mnet has shown us. A bit too late on this imo. Lack of good storyline + identities built for the popular trainees. Wrong decision to focus on BBY drama from group evaluation. Wrong start there. That did not help the show's popularity imo. Like I said before I need to see if the Erii support will translate to real support. But I think she is only known for the drama factor. Still need to wait for one-pick to see the real support for her but I don't see it yet. These are the points I can think of now.. think there are more but I cannot remember right now. Imo her hype is not about her being endearing. She is more of a talent pick with the right visual for a KJpop girl group. At least that is how she is to me.
  8. Interesting.. well Yunjin did what she did. Let's see how this will play out. Her outcome will depend on her one-pick votes / solo fanbase. I cannot gauge her solo votes at all because she was rising but I think she'll do ok with one-pick. I need more information to really gauge her true popularity in Korea. Personally I think she is a strong stan attractor and attract voters who will vote for her as their one-pick. Right now she is probably the most hated trainee by going against the most loved trainee in the whole show though. She will either go the Daniel, Daehwi or Hyungseob route. Will probably end up somewhere between Daniel and Daehwi by the end imo. If Yunjin can overcome this and is not badly scathed, she'll make it. Her current situation really reminds me of Daehwi's last season. I really hope this won't break her like how it broke Daehwi last season. She is definitely quite blunt and raw in speaking out her thoughts. Girl has no idea how it works in Korea. She'll learn from this. ITNW storyline though. Totally solidified both Nako and her fandom.. this will be interesting. Just a random opinion. This might be the start of the center storyline. Mnet might have found their Daniel and Jihoon for this season (the top 2 fighting for center spot). Maybe Yunjin vs Nako for final center if Yunjin can recover and revive her momentum by putting up a great performance. Sakura remains in the run for center. Maybe I'm just too positive about the hate on Yunjin idk. This is just my take on the whole situation. ------------------------- As predicted ratings are going down. Like I have said before, the first few episodes really set the tone for the latter episodes for these shows. Mnet made a huge mistake from ep.3 onwards imo. Total votes from ep.8 will be a more accurate indication of the show's popularity in Korea.
  9. Personal favorites: The Truth Untold for vocals and HandClap for dance. I like TTU performance. Reminds me of Downpour emotions wise. BTS has some great songs. Spring Day in S2 and TTU in S3. Aoi is quite good. Minseo looks really good with pink hair. HOW girls should not have auditioned with Celeb Five. Runner-up for vocals: Merry Chri and Don't Know You. Haeyoon up for main vocal. Her company audition was quite bad imo but she did much better in both LOA and MC. She is a really good leader too. MC has great teamwork. Chowon is a much better vocalist than expected. Both her and Haeyoon are on my list of potential picks. Bibian is very endearing. Like she is a bit weird? (for lack of a better word) but I like her. She is not one of my picks though. My picks : Yunjin / Gyuri Miyu Nako - Might drop her from my list of picks because of her singing. She is nasal most / all the time.. Just my opinion but I think both Yuehua girls will not make the final top 12. I also feel that Sian (she had a long shot imo) and Yuri missed the boat. The vocalist spot is now Haeyoon's if there is one. And maybe Chowon has a shot too. Not on my list =/= trainees I dislike. Trainees on my list are those that I hope will be in the final top 12. I'm ok with any trainee for the remaining spots.
  10. My picks before watching position evaluation fancams. Will update this later. Yunjin / Miyu – I’ve been pushing Yunjin for center ever since I watched her Love Tension fancam Gyuri Nako Yunjin sounds ok. I'm still not sure how good she is as a vocalist but she is at least lead vocalist level for kpop girl groups. Visual wise she is really pretty. Potential "it girl" here if Pledis knows how to manage her. Like I said before, the most 'complete' trainee this season. I really like her facial expressions. Likely her background in theater and performing arts school trained her well. Look at the difference between her in High Tension and ITNW. I really like her and she deserves a spot in the final top 12. Nako has been on my list since the Love Whisper performance was aired. She has decent pronunciation. She can sing. But I wouldn't say she sing well. She sounds nasal? most of the time. I'm not sure. But still a good candidate for the final group. Based on ep.5, Haeyoon and Chowon are on my list of potential picks. Both of them has a shot. If S3 is a regular Produce season with 11 spots, they have a bigger chance to make it. But this season there are probably only 6 to maybe maximum 8 spots for K-trainees. It will be hard for them to make top 12. I think the top girls are falling. I predicted before that Yireon will fall. TBH none of them are really strong minus Sakura. ATM I can only tell maybe Sakura will do well with one-pick. She is probably getting check pick so for her to remain so high means she probably has a strong solo fanbase.
  11. The story Mnet can write if Yoonjin become the final center (contain spoilers from position evaluation): Just a joke guys. Don't take this too seriously. Still too early to tell. Anyone can rise and take the final C.
  12. They did ?? I must have missed this rumor.. first time I have heard of this. I know there were rumors that Mnet has plans for something like Undergirls for the boys but they ditched that idea due to huge backlash. The Produce 101 finale concert for the top 35 members was a huge hint of Undergirls concept for S2. They call it 'concert team'. https://omonatheydidnt.livejournal.com/20226607.html https://www.allkpop.com/article/2017/04/produce-101-fans-protest-the-creation-of-a-concert-team-out-of-trainees-12-35 https://www.reddit.com/r/Broduce101/comments/67i3zw/makers_of_produce_101_season_2_discuss_forming_a/
  13. Wow.. I still don't know how good she is as a singer but looks like my wild prediction for her as final C is not that crazy after all. This explains so much. She definitely don't feel like a 6-months trainee. How she is so at ease onstage. Pledis hit jackpot by casting her. She can go beyond an idol after P48 if she stays in Korea. Seems like she likes theater.. and she can sing. She has the type of visual Koreans like and can go into acting too if she wants to become an actress. So much potential. At the moment I still don't know if she can catch up with the front-runners for center but she definitely has what it takes to challenge them. If she can show her skills and do well, girl is coming for center.
  14. On-site audience will vote or abstain to vote for all trainees (X or O for each trainee). Evaluate each trainee individually. Whether they did well in the position they chose. Top trainee from each team will receive benefit votes (last season 10k). All the top trainees from all teams within the same category (vocal, dance, rap) will then compete among themselves. Top trainee of each category will receive benefit votes (last season 100k). Last season a lot of the popular trainees were check picked by the on-site audience. Fans only vote for their bias and X popular trainees. Check out the knetz comments here regarding check pick last season. http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2017/05/tv-spoilers-produce-101_19.html
  15. Lee Chaeyeon (WM) is underrated as a vocalist. She is better than quite a few in the running for vocalist spot. My opinion is based on her company audition (the high note sounds ok) + her vocals in Veryx3. She sounds decent imo. @ 0.51
  16. Skills wise the Japanese girls will be so much better after the exclusive period. If the girls say the right things and appeal to their Japanese fans, I think they can retain them. Very delicate issue though. AKB management will have to be smart in tackling this. I think Sakura and Jurina really want to improve themselves hence the decision to join P48. Very surprised that management let them though. Also maybe the final P48 group will do activities like handshakes so fans can still see the Japanese members within the exclusive period.. I think Mnet is testing the waters by releasing this news. If the backlash is really bad, I think they will cut down the exclusive period to a minimum of 9? months up to 1 year with a longer non-exclusive period. 6 months is way too short. Preparation for debut will take almost 2 months just like Wanna One. Edit - Nvm I think 6 months can work too. But both sides will have to coordinate their activities well for the non-exclusive period.
  17. Interesting.. basically just like Wanna One but they have an extra non-exclusive year.. HKT48 without Sakura and Nako? Potential backlash from their fans imo.. Though I think the girls will benefit greatly from that 1 and a half year of Korean idol training and experience.
  18. 2-picks. Only the voting for final top 11 was 1-pick. He fell from spot no.2→20 within one elimination round. Voters thought he was safe so they try to save other trainees Some voters might think that he don't deserve his no.2 spot so they don't vote for him Fans / voters thought that he was safe so they didn't really do combo voting for him Or he just don't have strong alliance votes I'm not sure There were lots of alliance between fans at this stage in terms of voting. After he fell down to 20, his fandom worked really hard to get him into top 11 in the final (effect of him ranking 20 in ep.10 is similar to the reveals Mnet did during the final live voting). Sungwoon otoh jumped from 25→3. The full effect on votes due to his Downpour performance + Never drama can be seen here. At that point of time he was one of the top public pick + I think there were lots of voters who included him as second pick. Anyway he did gain a lot of 1-pick votes. If Mnet did not mess with the votes with the ranking reveals in the final episode, his final rank should be no.8 and not no.11.
  19. Yep that's about right based on the last 2 seasons. Yes we'll get to see some of the performances in ep. 6. I have no idea when they'll start practice for concept evaluation. I think Mnet will probably insert the extra episode for concept evaluation practice or after ep.10 elimination. She'll need Sungwoon moments to make it. And I agree she's a good leader. Coed School / SPEED's Choi Sungmin. His career as an idol was not successful. Language barrier for variety shows. And Japan has their own music shows. Cmiiw but I think Mnet said P48 will be the last Produce. I cannot find a source for this so I'm not sure.. July 16th (coming Monday). https://produce48.github.io/ -------------------- Nako and Miyu are coming for the top J-trainee spot. And like others have said I too feel that Minjoo might have a similar trajectory as Baejin.
  20. Likely 36 since there are 6 songs for concept evaluation. 6 trainees for each song. So barring any changes this year, elimination will go from 96 → 58 → 36? → 20 (S2) / 22 (S1) / 24? / x → 12. Number of trainees for final will depend on Mnet. This season also has 1 extra episode compared to the last 2 seasons and there is no indication as to when Mnet will insert it.
  21. Based on what I have read on this thread + Google, she was a member of Ye-A. They debuted back in 2014 and she left the group late 2014. Lovelyz debuted in Nov 2014 which is about the same time she left her former group. So she probably joined Woollim as a trainee after Lovelyz's debut. You can check out this link:- http://kpop.wikia.com/wiki/Kwon_Eun_Bi Yeah I agree that she gives-off mature vibes. Kaeun feels the same imo. They seem professional ? Like seasoned idols. Maybe its just me but I feel like they are at a different stage compared to other Korean trainees.
  22. Thank you guys. Really appreciate all the Miyu updates. Skills + visual wise she is ok too. If she gains momentum she has a shot. Her LOA fancam did quite ok ? if I'm not wrong. And she ranks in the visual ranking along with Eunbi. But yeah atm Eunbi is still the clear Woollim favourite with her screentime, storyline and exposure.
