Sakura is not my pick but I have to say I feel really bad for her. I don't think it is anyone's fault it turns out to be this way though.. just that circumstances and various factors lead to this situation. --- The last 2 episodes reminds me so much of S2 episodes. The quinessential Produce 101 episodes.

Looking at the current situation yeah there's a chance this could happen. Hitomi's growth seems to have gone stagnant and I'm not sure if she'll do well with one-pick. Miu has a shot but looking at the latest spoilers for concept evaluation her chances kinda diminished. Miru might be a surprise though when one-pick comes. She has been very consistent with 12 picks voting despite minimal screentime. And I think she'll do well with one-pick. All the remaining J-trainees are not likely to make it.

If the rumors / spoilers are true, Daehwi's team (See You Again) will be interesting. This team has the benefit of having a producer who went through the same show just a year before. Also Daehwi can speak Japanese quite well so I think this will help. He is also the type who knows exactly what he wants for his song imo. Plus he is really good at girl group dance. Definitely a team to look out for. Personally I'm still not sure about the song based on the preview. Btw Daehwi was not at the recording for concept evaluation. He is still in Thailand.

Not sure about Cube stans voting for her but yeah I can see BBY Team 2 voters voting for these 2 until the end. Reminds me of Jihoon in S2. She is so pretty today. Her, Wonyoung and Yireon are the visual wall today. If these 3 make it to the final top 12, the visual line of the final group will be up there with all the top groups. Kinda worried for Chowon. I'm not sure if she has established a fanbase enough to withstand 2-picks. She is so high in rankings that I feel voters may decide to use their votes to save other trainees. Idk if she has any notable pairings. Will Hyewon fans vote for her? Hyewon will also fall but idk how much. Lots of hype votes here with the screentime and storyline she was given. Yunjin with ITNW center drama. And her ranking #11 in ep.8 is not high enough for her to just rely on her one-pick votes. She won't be the second-pick for stans of other trainees. Her votes numbers for 3rd round of voting will be quite telling of her one-pick votes. Idek if she can make it to final. Minju's ranking has been very consistent throughout the weeks. I just hope she can gain some confidence. When she got #1 among her team members for onsite voting and #6 for second round voting, you can just tell girl thinks she don't deserve to be that high. It's almost like she feel ashamed to rank so high. I hope she can be more confident and try to live up to her rankings. Eunbi is strong and seems to be in a better position than Yujin. Lee Seunggi said that she is #1 among young female voters so she'll likely continue to do well. I was so wrong about her voters demographic. I thought her voters are mainly male. I'm still not sure about her one-pick votes. Chaewon's rise is very impressive because she did it with so little screentime and no storyline. She only has the visual center screentime and her LOA + ITNW fancams. Also her ITNW performance was aired in the later episode. Definitely one of the contenders for final top 12. Wonyoung feels like the face of the final top 12 group in Korea.

Wonyoung and Yireon are so pretty today. I love their outfits. Almost seem like tailor-made outfits with how well they fit the girls. By just looking at close-ups, I thought Hyewon is shooting a bridal pictorial lol. Pretty. Kaeun's hair styling and make-up are on point today.

Practice videos for concept evaluation is a first. They never do this in previous seasons afaik. Probably to drum up the drama for what could have been.. Fancams release before the airing of remaining half of position evaluation performances is the usual for all seasons. For drama. I expected this.. and her rise due to ITNW fancam is not enough to secure her spot (#11). Idek if she can make it to final with 2-picks voting.. --- To Reach You is by far the best song with good choreo. Chaewon is a good center. Never team of this season. Chowon seems out of place among her team members in Rumor Team 2... and her dancing here is kinda stiff imo. I think she should change to another song. Rollin Rollin seems fun. I think I'll enjoy this song. I Am is a weaker song than expected. Also has weak choreo. Yena is good. Chaeyeon is good too. Mako too. See You Again seems a bit too mellow.

This was so sad and touching. You can tell so many girls were rooting for her to make it. Idk if she'll make it to final but I hope she does and get more exposure. And I have no idea what she'll do after P48.. continue with her Youtube channel I guess. --- 2-picks will be wild.. and will likely affect Yuehua trainees a lot. They are all quite close in rankings (#14, #16, #24). Yuehua trainees get a lot of attention at the start of survivals shows (in both S2 and this season) but it seems hard for them to convert the attention to votes. Also looking at the total votes numbers (27 million), I think the final group will be fine. There is a chance they can do as well as IOI although the show ratings are low compared to S1. Votes numbers are tight throughout the rankings. Most trainees can still rise and fall a lot. The top trainees this season are nowhere as strong as the top trainees from last 2 seasons. Some of them are probably going to drop a lot once two-picks / one-pick kicks in.

I expect the rankings to be volatile but not this volatile.. ... this will be the first season Mnet does this. I was wondering how they will fill the extra episode. They are definitely going to use this to their advantage. The teams airing in the earlier episode will likely have most of the trainees they want for final top 12. ------------------- Chaewon's rise is impressive. She actually rose from 28 to 15 with no storyline + her performance was aired in the later episode. She just has the little screentime from visual ranking.

I expect rankings to be volatile because most of the top 12 girls from first ranking announcement did not really establish themselves imo (no standout performance, no special moments etc.). Plus the fact that female idols in general have much smaller fanbase compared to male idols.. it will be much easier for votes to shift around and change the rankings. If 12 picks for second round of voting is volatile, 1 pick will be interesting. Note that most of Mnet's favored trainees in the first top 12 had the benefit of their performance aired in the earlier episode. This will slightly skew the rankings of 2nd round voting in their favor. If a trainee drops significantly in 2nd round voting, it means that they are on less voters 12 picks. This also means that they have less pool of voters to be their one pick voters. If the same trainees have significant rise in the 3rd round of voting (if 2 picks) , it will be due to alliance votes and they are very likely to fall during one pick. All trainees will be on level playing field for concept evaluation if Mnet follows the last 2 seasons as the performances will all be in one episode. We'll get to see who are the top trainees then. The main contenders for top 11 last season were in a different situation. Most of the top 11 trainees from first and second elimination remained the same (8 out of 11 trainees). They mostly established themselves early on from group evaluation to position evaluation to remain in competition. However there were also lots of general public votes up for grabs in S2 so even with huge fanbase, most of their spots were not secured until the end.

That is your opinion. My opinion is that I don't think she'll be a strong one-pick trainee. Despite so much focus on her, I don't see her gaining much attention at all. Lots of other trainees are gaining momentum and she feels stagnant to me. Once again I repeat, my posts are my opinions. And my opinions could be wrong. Anyway there's no point going back and forth on this. Let's wait for the rankings and two-picks / one-pick.

Maybe. Just my opinion.. I predict she will fall during one-pick though, not 12 pick. I mean that in general.. not the whole post is in reference to the trainees being part of the buzz list. I should be more clear. IMO I feel like she lost a lot of support. I'm not part of K-voters so I really don't know if she still retain a lot of her core voters. Yeah agreed. I need to see Yujin's position in ep.8 but she seems to be in danger of falling out from debut list. It just feels like she's not going to be strong in one-pick. Probably because she has no standout performance or moment until now. Hitomi has Mnet in her favor and she had carved out her identity and personality and shown her skills to voters. Miyu only has her audition, top 12 speech in ep. 5 and the leader edit for TTU which was aired in the later episode. So yeah likely Hitomi is in a better position atm. But one-pick relies on core voters and I think Miyu's core voters seems ok. Idk it depends. But yeah Miyu might fall out too not because she lost her core fans but because other trainees are rising and gaining votes. Yikes after this discussion I feel like Yujin and Miyu are not going to make the final top 12 too. Their chance to make it will likely depend on concept evaluation. If they remain the same with no stand out performance / moment, then I think their chance to make it will be much lower going into final.

Interesting.. the list of trainees for final is starting to form. Apart from Moe losing her hype, Eunbi also lost a lot of support despite the screentime, storyline and focus on her with her leader and center roles. Once a trainee lost momentum, it'll be very hard to gain it back. Chaewon otoh is on the rise because of ITNW. I think a lot of voters just discover her now. She might make it with a good performance for concept evaluation and take Eunbi's spot. I didn't include Do-ah on my list but it seems like she managed to leave a deep impression on viewers.. she should do quite ok in one-pick too.. but I don't think she will rise enough to make the debut list. She'll need to do very well for concept evaluation to have a chance to make it. If not, she'll be close if she makes it to final. Atm I just don't see her as part of top 6 - 8 among K-trainees. Also Mnet don't like her. Miu on top reminds me of Daniel. It is very impressive of her to gain so much attention just for her fancams with no help from Mnet at all. Depending on her performance for concept evaluation, she might head into final in a better position than Hitomi and Miyu. Possible center contender here if her fancam for concept evaluation also trends. My picks + people who I think will make it based on their current momentum.

Kim Suyun / Suyoon (Woollim) is my favorite underrated trainee. According to her P48 profile she just trained for 9 months. I noticed her in Woollim's company audition because she is so fair. She did ok in High Tension Team 2 but Instruction is definitely her best performance so far. Dance seems to be her forte. She is a good dancer / performer and decent rapper with ok stage presence. Woollim's line-up for their next girl group seems promising. I see improvement in her based on these fancams. Or maybe she just suits Instruction type of concept more.

I forgot about her earlier. But she is a quite obvious rise since she has the 105k benefit votes. Also based on the airport pictures she made it to concept evaluation so she definitely rose from her rankings in ep.5 to survive. Mnet is part of CJ. Starship and Yuehua Korea are in a partnership. CJ is in the process of acquiring part of Pledis. Stone is under CJ. There is a drastic change in the way CJ / Mnet treats Starship and Yuehua in S3 compared to S2. Sewoon in S2 had a good chance to make it but he didn't get into Wanna One due to lack of screentime. Mnet gave him almost zero screentime throughout the season. Also look at the way they handled Hyungseob's controversy when he complained about his slight drop in ranking. Mnet did not air his apology at all. But in this season Mnet prioritized both Starship and Yuehua. So I guess they are in a good working relationship now.

Something like Red Velvet - Peek-A-Boo or Bad Boy. You can still share your input now (: Miyu is on my debut list and I agree. Guess we'll have to wait for concept evaluation to see if she fits in a kpop girl group. Miyu is similar to Jaehwan imo.. but she is a member of AKB so she is off to a better start compared to Jaehwan. Seems like show is still doing ok despite the drop in ratings. Ep.8 total votes numbers will be more telling but likely because the episodes are not interesting that the ratings are dropping. --------------------- There are 4 - 6 spots for J-trainees. If there are only 4 spots for Japanese trainees, the last 2 spots will be between Miyu, Hitomi and Miu imo. Miu's fancam hype is similar to Daniel. Both their fancams from group and position evaluation trended. If her fancam from concept evaluation also trends on Naver, I think she is likely to debut. She is doing this with almost zero screentime and no storyline which is really impressive. The thing is her fancams seems to be trending among males so idk if the views will translate to votes. Will have to see her votes numbers / rankings in ep.8. Likely to drop imo - Yireon, Yena, Chaeyeon, Eunbi, Kaeun, Miyu, Moe Likely to rise - Chowon, Haeyoon, Miu, Yunjin (but likely significant drop once the 3rd round of voting starts), Sae I think Chaewon will rise (don't think we can see much rise in this round because the effect of ITNW will only come into place for 3rd round voting) and might take Eunbi's place if she can keep up the momentum and do well for concept evaluation. Miyu's ranking will be interesting too. Her performance was aired in the later episode so if she still does well despite that, her votes should be quite strong leading into final. I also think that her one-pick chance is quite good.

Not a fan of the screentime because imo Produce is not only a show to build the final group but also to give some spotlight on talented trainees from small companies who don't get the chance to shine. However irrelevant of the companies they are from, the top girls who can contribute the most to the final group should get into the final 12. They are to be evaluated by the conventional standards required of kpop idols. There are exceptions but most of the group members should be able to fulfill most of it. Korean voters / Mnet is 'building' a group to compete with all the existing debuted kpop idols so this group must fulfill certain standards to be able to compete.

Finally come up with my top 12 list. List is a combination of my picks + trainees who I think will make it. Not ranking them. No.1 to 6 are likely to make it imo. Risky picks from spot no.7 onwards. Miyawaki Sakura (HKT48) Yabuki Nako (HKT48) Ahn Yujin (Starship) Jang Wonyoung (Starship) Honda Hitomi (AKB48) Takeuchi Miyu (AKB48) -------------------------------- Han Chowon (Cube) - rising fast Heo Yunjin (Pledis) - need to see the effect of the center / main vocal issue on her votes Lee Kaeun (Pledis) - not sure but feels like she'll be fine at the end Jang Gyuri (Stone) - think it is possible for her to make it. Kim Chaewon (Woollim) - possible rise ? much better vocalist than expected + visual Shitao Miu (AKB48) - need to see her ranking / votes in ep.8

Daehwi alone flew back to Seoul around Sunday midnight / very early Monday morning right after Wanna One's Hong Kong concert. The other boys just flew from HK in the afternoon. Quite sure the teams for concept evaluation songs are finalized so Daehwi had to meet them in his capacity as producer. High chance he will film / filmed with the girls today. Also the article that mentioned Lee Seunggi's participation in the filming for elimination on the 28th. These points alone pretty much confirmed the filming for elimination is done.

Definitely. She is lucky because Mnet aired her group performance in ep.6 and revealed her ranking 30 at that point of time. Generally there are various reasons as to why Mnet aired the performances in the order they did. They do the same in every season. This is their way of keeping / eliminating trainees. There are always exceptions but most of the time Mnet will be able to eliminate most of the trainees not on their favored list or whoever they think will disrupt the line-up they want. Mnet knows the votes numbers for the trainees. For 2nd elimination round, they probably aired the performances for the earlier episode based on the votes they received once second round voting started. I think most of the girls in Mnet's line-up probably drop in votes quite significantly for them to air both SNS and STS in the earlier week. It is also the first time Mnet did not reveal the rankings in ep.6. Another example would be Chowon and Haeyoon. It is possible that Mnet aired their group performances because they are no.1 and no.2 for position evaluation for vocals. Could also be that because Chowon is from Cube and Haeyoon is from FNC. They also make good stories - especially Chowon since she rose from the 80s in ranking, from Cube, and now winning the vocal + rap category for position evaluation after BBY Team 2 mess. Haeyoon's will be a continuation of her being a good leader / member in guiding her fellow members + possible main vocal contender because she is a good vocalist.

If her fans are still watching, they'll vote for their 2nd pick. Jurina is known and loved for her passion, charisma, determination and stage presence . I think they'll vote for a trainee with similar characteristics if they can find one. If not probably just whoever was 2nd in their list of 12. --------------- I just read a reddit thread about top picks for leader spot. Kaeun seems like the clear choice and I'm ok with her as leader of the group. But as of now I prefer Miyu and Haeyoon because of how well they have lead their groups.

Yes. 1st place = center based on S1 and S2. And they remain center until disbandment.
