Daniel (about the last group trip): so we talked about each other's hard times that we didn't know and everything that we have done so far. we talked about going on a trip next year with people who will be free and i want to say "you worked hard" to the members. Some random thoughts.. Kinda surprised Kaeun didn't make it but at the same time not surprised. I hope she is ok now. She seems to be under a lot of pressure throughout the show. Possible reasons as to why she didn't make it: Maybe Pledis has plans for her She didn't stand out performance wise throughout the show Not a strong one-pick trainee Image wise she is not suitable for the final line-up Most of the public votes went to Chaeyeon My one-pick Yunjin didn't make it. But imo it was a good lesson for her if she still wants to debut in Korea. She will learn from her costly mistake. Pledis please don't waste her talent. One of the most complete trainee in recent years. I hope Miyu will continue with her Youtube channel and try to figure out what she wants to do next. Hope she will release her own music. Good luck to Gyuri with her group! My lovely pick. Yena imo will be a hybrid of Yuqi / Lucas / Daniel of the group. She has this ease on stage / in front of camera which reminds me of Daniel. And image wise she kinda reminds me of Yuqi / Lucas. It will be interesting to see how she develops. She was amazing as the center for the Japanese debut evaluation song. She was so good. Such a good performer. Also good singer and dancer. A true all-rounder. Very proud of her. Chaeyeon looked like she was going to break down while waiting for the ranking announcements. It was hard to watch her in that state. She really went through a lot. She really deserve a spot in the final top 12. Very very proud of Chowon. She has been nothing but graceful and mature beyond her age from the beginning. Definitely a talent to look out for. Hope Cube will treat her well. Shame about Miu. She seems so sad and devastated. Mnet don't want her but the 'scandal' really ruined her chance to make it. I really don't know what is next for her since she is not popular in Japan.. Miru is needed in NMB so nothing much left to be said. Amazing performer with great facial expressions. Hope Juri will achieve her dream of becoming the general manager of AKB48. If Mnet wants her she would have made it but oh well she don't really fit the image of the group Mnet is going for. A good performer. Such amazing grace and maturity displayed by her. All the best to all the trainees. They went through a lot in the last few months.

With this line-up I think they have a chance to succeed in Korea. This season is nowhere as popular as S1 and S2 with the general public. There is also no Somi / Sejeong or Daniel / Jihoon to carry the group. They will need good songs + good promotions to succeed. This will be good for the group because management actually have to put in effort if they want the group to gain public support. Physical sales wise I think they will do well for a girl group. Looking at the votes, the difference in popularity between members are not as big as previous seasons so I think the fandom will be off to a better start. All the members also seems to fit well as one. Visual wise the group has amazing visuals. Wonyoung and Sakura as the face of the group. Eunbi, Nako, Chaewon, Yujin, Hyewon and Minju for visual line. Yuri as main vocal. Yuri, Eunbi, Nako, Chaewon, Yujin, Chaeyeon and Yena for vocal line. Yena for variety / personality pick. Chaeyeon K-main dancer. Hitomi J-main dancer. Yuri is no Wendy or Yuju but she will be fine as the main vocal. Overall I would say line-up is promising. How well they do will depend on the debut. If CJ cares, they will do well.

She was part of the visual pick line by fellow trainees. She always do well for onsite voting (signs of a strong fandom). And she has been consistent despite almost zero screentime. The only screentime she had was ITNW position evaluation where she was the top trainee with the highest onsite votes for her team. Mnet didn't focus on her at all although she was the center for To Reach You. Her final ranking makes sense imo.

No I don't think so. Mnet revealed #11 - #14 this season (2 of the revealed trainees were part of the debut line-up). The four are Chaewon, Hitomi, Chowon and Miyu. I think both Chaewon and Hitomi were part of the line-up before the reveal. Chaewon is probably #12 since her final rank is lower than Hitomi. Chowon was probably #13 and Miyu #14. Mnet knew Miyu will not get public votes because of what she did in ep.11 + she is Japanese. --- The final rankings for Yuri and Yena makes sense imo. Yuri (Stone) - Sian and Gyuri were both in top 35. Yena (Yuehua) - Sihyun and Yireon were also both in top 35. Company votes + popular ship + Mnet push (screentime) + Yuri as main vocal pick with fanbase + Yena as variety / personality pick + all-rounder. Yena also did very well as the center for the Japanese debut evaluation song.

This line-up is a mix of trainees I would like to see in final top 12 + those that I think will make it. Sakura - lock Yena - variety pick + all-rounder Juri - One of the best in the pick center clips. Consistent and stable. Kaeun - consistent and stable Chaewon - She reminds me of Minhyun (lead vocalist + visual). No screentime but she has been doing well + she has a decent K-fandom. Might be a surprise in the final line-up. Minju - visual pick and imo skills wise she is ok Wonyoung - lock Miu - I have no idea she can sing. Idk if she can debut due to her controversy but with her stage presence, dancing skills and vocals, she deserve a spot. Chaeyeon - one of the most talented this season + great storyline and momentum going into final Yuri - for main vocal Yujin - In my earlier post I said she has slim chance of making top 12 because she has been losing momentum for a while. But I forgot she was not a popular two-pick. She was #14 for 2-picks so I think she might actually do ok with one pick. Eunbi / Nako for last spot Mnet really don't want Chaewon. I predict no / minimal screentime for her in the last episode. Do voters even know who she is to vote for her during live voting.. Eunbi has always been the chosen Woollim trainee so I can understand why Mnet wouldn't focus on Chaewon. They probably don't want 2 Woollim trainees in the top 12. Chaewon fancams Haeyoon sang so well in the center pick video. Truly a main vocal pick for the final group but idk if she can get public votes because it seems like most of it will go to Chaeyeon.

I just had this random thought.. what if Chaewon make it instead of Eunbi? This will be somewhat similar to Nu'est last season.. Woollim girls will then make their debut without Chaewon. And if the 1.5 year exclusive contract is true, Woollim girls will wait for Chaewon just like Nu'est W waiting for Minhyun. Or maybe no Woollim trainee in the final line-up and they debut soon after P48.. My take on the top 20 trainees. Sakura - lock Miho - unpredictable Chaeyeon - likely going to make it as long as voters don't slack off voting for her because they think she is safe. great momentum leading to final. Hyewon - getting lots of criticism for her non-improvement. I don't think she'll make it. Gaeun - stable Miyu - unfavorable edit. she will lose her public votes. will have to depend on her fandom. Wonyoung - very likely going to make it Miru - depends on whether her fandom wants her to make it. Nako - seems like she is losing momentum but still quite high chance for her to make it. Miu - seems like she lost momentum leading to final. her latest fancam is not as popular as her last 2 fancams + controversy. will have to depend on her fandom. Hitomi - she has always been near the cut-off line despite good screentime.. i think she might be pushed out by other trainees. Eunbi - unfavorable edit in ep.11. not sure about her solo fanbase. Chowon - weak fandom? she is still at stage 3 for the garden thing which is a sign of weak fandom. will have to depend on public votes. great edit in ep.11. Yujin - been losing momentum for a while. slim chance of her making it to the final top 12? Minju - always on the buzz list. visual pick. i think she'll make it. Yena - Mnet pushing for her and Yuri + variety / personality pick + all-rounder Juri - consistent and stable but she has always been out of the top 12. will depend on whether Mnet wants her in the group. if Mnet wants her in the group she has a chance. Thank you for the information. That is a huge sample size.. Yena is my center pick among the top 20 trainees. I think she can be a good center. But looking at her past rankings, I just hope she can debut.

Is Eunbi receiving a lot of backlash from k-voters for going after the main vocal position? Does anyone have any idea? Mess if she ends up not debuting because of this.. Just my opinion. This is going to be long. Feel free to disagree and skip. I had doubts about Eunbi's solo fandom even during position evaluation. Eunbi has always been in the spotlight for every evaluation. She was the highlighted Woollim trainee for company evaluation, the leader for group evaluation, the center for position evaluation, the main vocal for concept evaluation and now the main vocal for debut evaluation. Despite the focus and screentime on her, I feel like she don't get a lot of hype and attention. When she was ranked #5 for the second elimination, Lee Seunggi mentioned that she is popular among female voters. Which is good. But it was during 12-picks. I think it is possible that she is not a strong one-pick trainee.. The edit in the latest episode leading to final is also not good for her. There could be a few reasons for her ranking low in ep.11 rankings though.. check pick, not a strong one-pick trainee, her decision to be main vocal, the performances were aired in the second week so we don't really get to see the effect of Rumor team doing well (but I would say she did not really benefit from this performance, it seems to me Sian and Sihyun and maybe Chowon are the standouts in this performance). So maybe she will still end up high for one-pick.. I honestly don't know.. In many ways she reminds me of Ong from last season. Ong might have ended up at #5 for debut but there were huge concerns back then that he might not debut because his fanbase is not as strong as a lot of other trainees despite how all-rounded he is. The difference is Ong is much better at navigating Produce. He knows what to do at the right time. And Eunbi made a wrong decision in going for main vocal for debut evaluation. Looking at the k-netizens comments, it seems that some of them also think that she should not be the main vocal for Rumor.. she is definitely a decent vocalist but she is no main vocalist. Which brings me to my next point. In a show like Produce where trainees are trying their best to appeal to voters to get their votes, there are certain unwritten 'practice' which trainees are expected to follow. Trainees can always challenge themselves and go for positions such as main vocal, center, main dancer and main rapper. Nothing wrong with that. But if any trainee is going against a 'designated' trainee in the mind of voters for this particular position, they will have to ace it or at least do as well as the best trainee for this particular position. This apply to all trainees. I'm not attacking any trainees. Just trying to give my view on how I think this show works. Both Miyu and Eunbi to a certain extent went against this unwritten practice. Miyu sounds bad in her high notes attempt and Eunbi sounds slightly better but still not good enough. The other girls in Miyu team sounds better (although they are not good either) and Chowon is much better than Eunbi. IMO some of the girls to a certain extent are not as debut ready compared to the boys in S2. It kinda shows in the little things. Idols are always walking on eggshells and a tiny mistake can destroy or affect their career badly. I hope all of them can learn a lot from being on Produce. Apart from skills and visual, attitude matters a lot in being an idol.

I like both of them. I like Juri in the latest episode and got to know Chaewon through ITNW. Both of them give off a very mature and calm vibe. I like that a lot. But I really don't know if they can make it. It's just so hard to tell.. the top trainees from last season are so much stronger. Like viewers can tell so and so trainees are leading the pack but this season.. apart from Sakura, I don't really see any lock trainees. Anything can happen in the last episode and depending on who Mnet wants, the last episode could affect the line-up a lot compared to previous years. The gap in votes between trainees are very close so the live votes are going to influence the final line-up a lot. --- I feel very bad for Miru. She is in a very tough and sticky situation. I hope she can do what she wants.

My thoughts after streaming ep.11: Two of my picks were officially eliminated (Yunjin and Gyuri). I'll check out Gyuri's group from time to time and wait for Yunjin to debut if she still wants to be a kpop idol. Yunjin might have other plans though. Miyu should not go for the main vocal position. I think this will affect her public votes. The Japanese song is much better based on the demo and practice clips. Trainees who imo deserve to debut taking various factors into consideration - Chowon, Yena, Eunbi, Chaeyeon, Yuri Yena reminds me a bit of (G)I-DLE Yuqi and NCT Lucas. I was indifferent towards Jo Yuri but have grown to like her. She can sing and I think she is honest in front of the camera. I can see why some people feel offended or dislike her but I have grown to like her bluntness or whatever adjective it is to describe her personality. She seems stable to me. I think she is the type of person who can work under pressure. Nako is kinda in danger zone. She is losing momentum just like Jonghyun last season. 13 trainees on my final prediction list. Not ranking them. I'm not sure about the final girl to eliminate.. She is one of my favorite too! I just really like her. To me she has something special ? Idk I just like her lol. And I like her voice. She is not the best vocalist on P48 but her voice is nice. And she is really pretty and cute too. Her side profile is so pretty. I hope the hairstylist can fix her hair though. The super long hair is drowning her face. I don't see myself following fromis_9 because their music and concept is not to my taste but I'll definitely check them out from time to time to keep track of Gyuri. --- I might as well talk about my other picks in this post. I hope Pledis will do something with Yunjin if she plans to further her career in Korea. I hope she get her chance to shine. As to Miyu idk if she will get into the final P48 group. But I hope she will get to do what she wants. I love her Youtube channel and I hope she will continue on that platform. --- The JYP rumor is really interesting. Whoever it is it will be interesting. If the rumor is true. Erii is a really interesting idol. She has this nonchalant attitude in general and I would love to see how she will fare in JYP. Nanami's opening lines in the Energetic performance was a huge surprise so if she was recruited it will be interesting too. Kojimako is a bit on the older side for this rumored J group imo but I really like all her P48 fancams. She is a good performer. And she has such a great smile.

All the songs are ok to good. Hope they chart well ! Personal favorites based on the teaser - 1000% (overall), I Wish / To Reach You (song), Rumor (performance) Chowon The top trainee of this season imo. She's amazing!!! Her stage presence and facial expressions !! She deserves a spot in final top 12. Moe found her place. She improved so much! Very proud of her. I Am (both song and performance) seems better than expected. Nako is so pretty. Chaewon sounds nice. I like that small clip of Yuri @ 1.32. Rollin' Rollin' um I don't like the singing for this song at all. Very nasal. Wonyoung's upper body seems stiff. Still fun though. See You Again is super pretty. Miyu has really nice styling for this evaluation. Eunbi sounds ok actually. Not as good as the demo but she sounds better in this teaser imo. Maybe because we are hearing the song together with the performance ? not sure Everyone did well. Definitely the best evaluation so far.

Also one of the most natural and fitting for this round of ending shots. Her visual though. The stylist did a great job. Styling on point. I Am was also one of the least favorite performance according to fanaccs. From the demo to practice video to ending shot video, it has been quite underwhelming. Also doesn't help that the stylist repeat the stage outfits.. I also think they choose the wrong center. Yena did the best when they recorded to choose the center again. She should be the center for I Am. I just read the concept eval reaction compilation on reddit again. The fanacc on Moe is pretty spot on. If anyone wants to read this, just search concept eval reaction compilation on the P48 subreddit. Miyu and Yena fanaccs are probably accurate too. Miyu did receive good styling based on the ending shot video. And I predict Yena to do well based on the practice + vote for center again clips. I think I know what is wrong with Rumor. The vocals sounds weak compared to the demo ver. Chowon should have been the main vocal and Eunbi should be the rapper. I think the song will be better then.

Moe, Yireon, Nako and Miru are so pretty. Favorite ending shots - Moe and Juri. Pleasantly surprised by Moe's ending shot. I also really like Juri's ending shot. All the songs sounds ok. I Am is probably my least favorite. And idk if I listened to Rumor too much or the demo ver. is better.. To Reach You is still the best imo. Still unsure about See You Again. Rollin' Rollin' will be fun. 1000% sounds quite good too. See You Again has the best stage setting. Probably the best stage outfits too along with 1000%.

Based on the behind the scenes we had in ep.9, Rumor sounds really good and promising. I really like this song. To Reach You should be quite good too. Daehwi + other Brand New Music fans + some Wannables will likely stream Daehwi's song. So this song might start off the best out of all 6 songs but I think other songs will do better in the long run. If the songs chart at all. They need to enter the chart.

No worries. Both of them seems to get similar support atm.. but looking at the rankings Chowon seems to be stronger. If both of them go head-to-head towards final, both might not make top 12 as public votes will be divided quite equally between the 2 of them.

Eunyoung, Sihyun and Kahyun are ok too. I remember someone on this thread posted a picture compilation of the 12 of them and I really think they'll work out great. --- Maybe its just me but this season seems like a fight between hardcore voters and Mnet. Not a good thing for the final group imo. Everything is so negative. Also the trainees are the focal point of Produce and I just don't see that this season.

Public picks for this season should be Haeyoon and Chowon. It will be great if both of them can make it. 2 of my picks (Yunjin & Gyuri) are likely out from final or definitely not making final top 12. Not sure what Yunjin's going to do while Gyuri will just go back to fromis_9. 1-pick will be wild and brutal for some of the finalists.. Unpopular opinion here but if Starship, Yuehua, Pledis and Stone trainees debut as a group, they'll have a really strong line-up.

For the final round of voting, most K-fans just support one trainee. If the fans slack off, the trainee will not make it (case on point Jonghyun). No one is safe. Hardcore fans do much more than just the 14 votes. They will get all their friends and families to vote. And I think there will be votes buying too. Only trainees with truly dedicated and sizable fandom will make it to the final line-up. Unless the trainee is one of the top 1/2 public picks. Even then you still need a certain size of fandom to make it. Btw I edited my post, the last round of voting for this season will start from ep.11 due to the extra episode. Yeah not a huge group though. But enough to indicate the presence of such voting patterns. You can search for analysis in the P48 subreddit.

Someone actually analysed the votes and concluded that there are group of voters who do not vote for J-trainees and WUSPLE trainees at all for 12-picks. Idk how to link it because I think we cannot link reddit stuffs.. Hmm not sure. I feel like K-voters really want her out. And that includes Kaeun fans although they are both from Pledis. Her votes are pretty much her one-pick votes + some Pledis votes imo. And maybe a bit alliance votes but not much. For online voting, voters have one week to vote from the broadcast of ep.10 last 2 seasons / ep.11 this season (3rd ranking announcement episode). They have one vote for one trainee per account per day up until the final episode live broadcast day. As to SMS voting, one vote for one trainee for each Korean number which equals to 7 online votes. --- I have a question.. are we not allowed to link to reddit threads and comments? I just realised one of my post with reddit content was deleted. --- Regarding the cut-off line for debut evaluation, Mnet always change that. They will choose to cut for drama or to eliminate trainees they don't want for final. Or both. This season is a mess lol. Mnet is having a very hard time trying to control the rankings.

Some of the trainees are definitely getting check-pick atm. Miho and Miyu are likely popular second picks atm because the top trainees fans do not see them as threat to their favorites. Somewhat similar to Sungwoon ranking 3rd last season for 2-picks.

Just a hint of what is to come for the final group. This is Wanna One's schedule last year for the month of August. They debuted on the 7th. The final episode of S2 was on the 16th of June 2017. From then onwards they started preparing for debut, shoot CFs etc. I don't have the exact number of the rest days they had throughout the year but I would say less than 20 days since final episode. Possibly less than 15. They are always working. Despite the lower ratings this season, I still think the P48 group will be successful. How successful no idea. But their schedule will probably be at least 50% - 70% of Wanna One's + they have to commute back and forth to Japan. So I really hope the management for the debut group will be better. Also the girls have one extra year so they can definitely take it slower. The exclusive period of promotion for the final group is a must to make this project group work. At least for the first half to one year imo. They need the time to build up the group.
