  2. I recommend Norweigian Wood first, and then either Wind Up Book Chronicle or Kafka on the Shore depending on which blurb interests you the most. They're all really great, hope you enjoy his books. Trying to get through some classic novels this year starting with Age of Innocence, so far so good.
  3. spazzkid - Truly (feat. Sarah Bonito)
  4. I don't agree with his political statements, but he does have the right to say his opinions. The backlash is expected though, and he would've been aware of that when he posted so it's not like he's a victim here.
  5. Zhang Liang was really nice on the Chinese ver. of Dad! He has a really calm and composed aura. Also, RIP Ethan Ruan's hairline, damn.
  6. I think it might be better to clarify somewhere in the post that the comments are translated from Chinese netizens, as most kpop fans are not similar with QQ, and do not check the source.
  7. Hi, does anyone happen to have the single, Fantasy (2012), and are willing to share it? I've been looking for a 320 version (not a YouTube rip) for ages. It was on kpopspy in the past, but the link is broken. I also really want the instrumental if that's available.
  8. Tbh I'm still a bit iffy about this drama, but I really like Joowon so I'm going to be watching anyway. Hopefully it does well, he's had such good ratings with KBS dramas thus far, it'd be such a shame.
  9. It's interesting that they've decided to remake a Taiwanese drama. I'm definitely going to check out the first episode. Hopefully this is as good as the original. I remember I was in Taiwan when Fated to Love You got popular, and it was showing EVERYWHERE.
  10. Prom dress, shoes, and accessories. Cost is adding up to way more than I expected, wish I wasn't being forced to go.
  11. I've wanted to recommend this, but not sure how well known it is. - Title: Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai - Status/ No. Chapters or Volumes: Completed/8 volumes - Tags/ Genres: Shoujo, romance, school life, slice of life - Summary: Midori Saejima is a first-year student at the newly established Hijiri Gakuen, who runs for student council. Story follows her relationship with the club president, as well as the friendships she gains during her time at school to her graduation. - Example of Artwork: - Recommendations Pros: As with all other Yazawa Ai stories, a lot of heart is put into the characters. I like how she never fails to add depth even to side characters, allowing us to sympathise with all their stories. The story is just your basic high school romance, but Yazawa Ai makes it unique and interesting. I love the contrast between the modern and then more traditional characters. As always, the fashion in the manga is on point. Cons: The art is not as clean as her later releases, but gets progressively better (this is just the complaints I hear, actually really like the art). Overall: One of my favourite Shoujo manga of all time, I've gone back to it too many times to count. It's Yazawa Ai, but without all the tragedies. If you haven't read Gokinjo Monogatari (second favourite from Yazawa Aimafter this) yet, follow up with that! - Title: 1/6000 Honesty - Status/ No. Chapters or Volumes: Completed/one shot - Tags/ Genres: Shoujo, romance, school life, slice of life - Summary: Main character holds on to regrets of when she was a teenager. She liked a friend, and was always dishonest to him, lying about her true thoughts and feelings. After an accident she has the chance to watch her past unfold, and will herself to change. - Example of Artwork: - Recommendations Pros: Probably one of the most relatable manga I have ever read. It's amazing how great this story is despite being a one shot (which is usually just quick fluff). This is an awesome read, worth every second of your time. Cons: An old release, the art is very 90s and rough, but considering how amazing the story is, this can be easily overlooked. Overall: Tied with Heptagon (similar plot) as my favourite one shot manga. Really great story that girls of any age can relate to. Can't recommend enough. - Title: Heptagon - Status/ No. Chapters or Volumes: Completed/5 chapters - Tags/ Genres: Shoujo, romance, school life, slice of life - Summary: Nana, an apathetic 24 year old experiences a car accident which brings her back to her 14 year old self. From there, the memories she shut away begin to unravel and she remembers the first love she never truly had. - Example of Artwork: - Recommendations Pros: Like 1/6000 it is a relatable manga, but with much better art. The story is amazing, with twists that keep you on your toes. An amazing one shot, heck just an amazing manga. Cons: Wish it was longer, and we had a chance for more romance in the ending. Overall: A short read, that won't take up much time at all, but will stay in your mind. Edit: I was under the impression that Heptagon was a one shot but it actually has 5 chapters. My memory fails me, lol.
  12. Omg the promo photos look hottttt. Will have to listen to the song later, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
  13. Thanks a lot Adintake, I'm going to go with what you suggested, better sticking with that than messing up by experimenting. Really appreciate your advice. I actually didn't know that! Lucky this was a speech, thanks for letting me know before I wrote it into an essay or something.
  14. Can someone pleae help me with this sentence in my speech? I'm trying to say something along the lines of "If you intend to come to xcountry, I recommend trying the traditional meals." I was planning of writing it like: xcountry ã«è¡Œãã¤ã‚‚りã ã£ãŸã‚‰ã€ä¼çµ±çš„ãªæ–™ç†é£Ÿã¹ã¦è¦‹ãŸã»ã†ãŒã„ã„ã§ã™ã€‚ But I'm not sure how to make ã§ã™ (ã ) into 'if'. I'm pretty sure ã ã£ãŸã‚‰ is incorrect, and I've only learnt how to make adjectives and verbs to 'if.' Google translate is telling me it's ã¤ã‚‚りã§ã‚れã°, would that be correct?
  15. It's okay... the Starks will make a comeback in the last book... hopefully.
  16. The way the instrumental drifts between hard and soft is amazinggg. One second there's electric guitars playing and the next second they disappear.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deHH5vM6Npg
  17. Yasuko to Kenji GeGeGe no Nyobo (Really long, been watching for a while)
  18. Thanks for the list, could use some new manga to read. - Title: Orange (TAKANO ICHIGO) - Status/ No. Chapters or Volumes: 9 Chapters/Ongoing - Tags/ Genres: Drama, Psychological, Romance, School Life, Shoujo, Slice Of Life, Tragedy - Summary: Main character receives a letter from her future self telling her everything that will happen leading up to the death of a new student in her class. Using the letter she attempts to re-do the past to save that student, meanwhile stepping out of her own shell and ridding herself of the regrets her "adult-self" holds on to. - Example of Artwork *Avoid Spoilers*: - Recommendations Pros: Interesting plot with an unpredictable storyline. Although the main character is shy you don't feel frustrated with her when she makes choices, and you really do want to root for her. There's also light humour here and there so the story isn't all that much depressing. Cons: Manga seems to be on hiatus, not sure if the mangaka plans on continuing it. Overall: First shoujo manga in awhile to make me actually anticipate what is going to happen. While the future of it is uncertain, I'm satisfied with the last released chapter as I think it can be interpreted as an open ending. - Title: Tomodachi no Hanashi - Status/ No. Chapters or Volumes: 3.5 Chapters/Completed - Tags/ Genres: Comedy, Romance, School Life, Shoujo, Slice Of Life - Summary: Eiko and Moe are complete opposites, but are inseparable best friends. The short story details their friendship, and the introduction of a love interest into the girl's lives. (No love triangle, thank gosh). - Example of Artwork *Avoid Spoilers*: - Recommendations Pros: In manga the relationship between friends is seriously underestimated. Girls are always betraying each other, bullying, etc. This manga really shows the value of friendship between the two main characters. Both are likeable despite being complete different, and the same can be said of the male leads. The art style is also simple, but pretty. Cons: Quite short, I wish it was longer. Overall: Cute short manga, definitely worth a read. - Title: Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai - Status/ No. Chapters or Volumes: 4 Chapters/Completed - Tags/ Genres: Drama, Shounen, Supernatural, Tragedy (Despite being listed as Shounen, it is very easily a shoujo manga, so I'm including it) - Summary: An extremely shy girl with no friends, seeing everyone else constantly using their cell phone begins to imagine a her own. One day the cell phone rings and speaking to the boy on the other line she gains the confidence to speak. - Example of Artwork *Avoid Spoilers*: - Recommendations Pros: The story is interesting, unique and unpredictable. As well as that, the art style is beautiful and really suits the story the mangaka is telling. I also like how the manga doesn't depend on romance for us to sympathise with the lead characters, and that is quite difficult to do. Cons: I wish the manga was longer so they could've further developed the connection between the two main characters. Overall: It's interesting, and a memorable read.
  19. Hataraku Maou-sama! Also 10/10. Hilarious, loved watching it in between all the serious action anime.
  20. Attack on Titan, The Devil is a Part-Timer, Detective Conan, Doraemon, and Atashinchi. I only seen a few current anime, but I've been trying to watch more.
  21. Doraemon, Detective Conan, and Ore Wa Teppei when I was a kid, then came Cardcaptor Sakura and Pokemon. I only started searching up episodes on the internet after watching Naruto on Cartoon Network though, lol.
