http://gwangjuprince.tumblr.com/post/143095675091/not-sure-if-you-guys-have-seen-this-but-seungri Spread the word if you can. Cleaning up tumblr will be a nightmare and tbh once a photo goes out, it can't be taken back. VIPs, you'll never catch a break even while BB is dormant. This is probably not the best way for me to introduce myself as a longtime lurker/new vip. Hello~

Story Team on LJ has Tensei Kunpu! They're open so go join now if you can! His action prowess is glorious! It might also be because I'm fond of stories around the Shinsengumi and I'm in love with Okita Soji (who Ohno played for a bit in the stage play). Ah, when I said Ohno was making as much headway as Nino I only meant in the acting skills department (despite playing less roles), as in both of them are actors I would definitely designate most roles Arashi play to. Naturally his rep as an actor isn't as great as Nino's. It's not even as great as Jun's or maybe even Sho's. Although of course I don't think Nino and Ohno can be compared. Both of them play such different roles and characters with their own flair and nuances. They're both great and weak in their own way.

Yasss! Ao no Honoo was brilliant! But Nino for a few years kind of fell into an acting stump imo. I wish to see more of that in present day. Ohno, well, even if he doesn't care for acting he's making headway as strongly as Nino which is saying something. I'm happy for his romcom and woohoo he's getting a girl (maybe) but my wish that died long ago was for him to do more musicals and to play more action roles. It's his biggest strength which I'm unhappy he never got to utilize on television for everyone to see. Now he probably think he's too old to be doing all those stunts. Maou was great. Utau no oniisan was different. Kaibutsukun was cute. And I didn't see Shinigamkun. But tbh my favorite Ohno role was his musical Tensei Kunpu. I'm still sad Amatsukaze didn't come out on dvd (or did it?)

You gotta definitely give Bartender a try. It's good and Aiba plays a stylish character that shows a different side of him than in variety. Lotus as a song is awesome and every time it came on during the drama for the ending I was hyped. Like you know how in Kagiheya when Facedown came at the ending that sh1t was bomb, so likewise: https://youtu.be/nLVqhNW4xP4?t=46m9s As always, don't set your expectations too high (for Aiba's acting too, although he was better than usual for Aiba) and you'll enjoy it.

XD Upvoted you. SOOOOOOO true. Jpop is harder to find than kpop, and they're more harsh on copyright, but nowadays I believe they are more lax (except for anime) and its not as scarce as some people want to believe. You can find it so much more easily. Not like the old days, but it's just better. This reminds me that a karaoke vid I made for myself and uploaded to youtube ON PRIVATE was shut down for infringement of copyright this weekend. Like, it was for myself, no one could find it anyway! Shatz its crazy. I was even surprised you can find full pvs on jpopsuki a while ago. I believe Nino and Ohno are the two best actors in Arashi, but Nino just fits his roles better since he usually does the same low-key, sullen and passive protagonists or the pessimistic action heroes or even the normal-boy-next-door types. I thought I had to live with the fact that no one else in Arashi will do pure romance (or romcom) aside from Jun, but this Ohno drama proved me wrong. I really, really, want Nino to play a villain or a tragic main hero who goes from good to bad (or the opposite even). At least though with Nino currently willing to take minor character roles (like that creepy secretary guy in Murder on the Orient Express and Korosensei in Assassination Classroom) I have more hope on him growing as an actor and playing more versatile roles in the future. Please! Perhaps Sho has the most diverse roles out of all Arashi? He does the most over the top and crazy characters though. Special mention to Aiba's Bartender my favorite Aiba role which remains his best role by faaaaar. Tbh, I will not be sad if Aiba focuses on variety and does not act again, but if he does venture into acting again (*takes a deep breath*) I hope he doesn't do a wimpy character like the one in Mikeneko Holmes again.

In a cliche way I like their "bond", dynamics and individualities. Naturally I just mean I like how they genuinely seem to have fun together and plain like or respect each other. All of them are so different in personalities and in varying degrees of dorkiness. When you bring them together they just fit to become this group called Arashi; like how their voices are so so so different but when they sing together it's as magical as their individual unique voices. They are humble, down-to-earth and just very normal guys who are like friends but still with that special something that you can't help but develop a crush on them. Yay! Thanks! I had to go and make sure I am a member of this community. So many livejournal subbing communities had died and popped up these last few years. In the process I almost accidentally left the community. Those obnoxious icons that LJ changed to are horrible. Can't even tell what they are.

omfg, riida! Tbh, I was happy he was going to do a romcom because I wanted Ohno to get a girl for once, but I didn't think it'd be this awesome. I skipped Shinigami-kun so I forgot how great Ohno is. Can't wait for this. I hope a subbing team has already claimed it or if not I hope one comes along and do it.

I won't deny that LDH took a leaf out of Kpop books but there are so many other factors to it too and now that LDH are changing it up again (although there's no originality to it) they are accused to be trying to steal Johnnys thunder with branching out yet this came out. It's doing business with unoriginal concepts that neither originated from here or there and more like built up over time. Anyway, I'll end the discussion here because like I said I don't follow LDH and tbh as a BigBang fan I was just stepping in with a different perspective.
-
Ohno ballads are awesome, but it would be nice if he gets a solo of a genre he hasn't tried before. I just want him to do so many different things with his voice.

No actually I'm not mistaking it. I know LDH acts were never known for the cutesy concept. When I made that statement I was saying it more broadly because Japanese mainstream music is believed to be always bubbly and cheesy when tbh they have different music too. That's why as soon as someone breaks out of the mold like JSB or are at least decent dancers like Egirls the hoards of people (kpop fans, jpop fans, Japanese people who are kpop fans, etc) who think they copied come out as if Kpop created synchronized dancing or something. You either have to be old fashioned and behind the times, super quirky and unique, or you're like kpop. It's funny because BigBang was more R&B in the past too and their sound changed over the years, but that's a similarity that's just a coincidence. Both groups are just trying to do more of what works for them.

I forgot about this exclusive tv stuff. Ohno didn't promote on it when he had the chance T__T It's one of my greatest wish as an Arashi fangirl to have Nino promote an exclusive solo song that he co-composed like what Ohno did as Yano Kenta for Utau no oniisan. It's been 15+ years. I wish he (and Arashi) would break out of their usual mold a bit. Nino's not the strongest of singers, but he writes songs that suit his tone and I really do love his voice and his music.

Aw no worries. No real harm done. I'm sorry if I came out sounding more angry than necessary also. I know yesterday I went off on a fan who meant no real harm when using a racial slur and rereading it I felt bad but it already went out and there's nothing to do. As a Kpop and Jpop fan it peeves me sometimes when fans talk without much knowledge (I'll include myself in this group too). Now that China is the new market I see it happening also. Btw I get mad at the comparisons too. Girlschannel and pannchoa are more like forums much like onehallyu actually where fans and people create threads. Not really a legit news site. Also, girlschannel is full of Johnnys fans and they actually don't like groups like JSB too much so yea. I don't follow JSB though but they are popular in Japan on their own.
-
Stop. As a BigBang fan myself I cringe at this and I'm not even a fan of JSB. These commenters can't be taken seriously on either BigBang or JSB. No one is using BigBang except some critical people who are making comparisons (plus this is girlschannel the equivalent of pannchoa). Also JSB is a Japanese boy group that don't need BB's fame. Just a few months ago they were still contenders for the new generation of Japan's national boy group title with petty fan wars happening with Arashi fans. In Japan they are probably more well known than BB. And not many things or ideas and concepts in this world are new and original anymore (Daesung even said so on HT). I don't get why Kpop (and even Jpop) fans are so quick to accuse Japanese mainstream groups of copying when they decide to break out of their normal style of bubbly music and cheesy adolescent concepts.

OMFG, Ohno finally on Shabekuri!!!! Now all the members finally on it. Now, he needs to guest on Tunnels and do that food game and fail at it so they can compile the videos of Arashi members dancing together (or did Ohno already guest on it? or is that show cancelled? Gawd, somebody tell me so I'm up to date). And I forgot all about that Arena tour. Thanks! I didn't know they had another Waku Waku planned.

What? Lol, I only hop onto this thread once in a while (to read and zip away in silence) and tbh I only remember the beginning of some people's usernames which helps connect some things. ________________________________________ So I haven't been updated with Arashi lately. Do they have any concrete plans for this year yet or any rumors? Solo and as a group? Of course Ohno and Jun have their dramas though. I kind of wish Arashi wouldn't churn out a new album this year. Do another Arafes tour or something, a few singles, but I don't need a new album yet. Tbh I need to catch up on their music (and everything else). I'm still stuck on LOVE and a little of Digitalian, lol.

Been trying to reply on OH all day, but my phone is a piece of work that strives to make me a thankless owner. Oh shucks. I know when I went on a rampage seeking Matsumiya fics I reached the end too quickly. Well, let me turn this around and ask you for recs instead. Anything you think is good? I know more than a dozen pages ago someone around here said they were writing fanfics.

Lol, in the past I combed through Archive of Our Own while sadly I could only go back so many pages through the Matsumiya tag before it didn't work anymore and the posts became general. Why is LJ so broken? Why are Arashi fan fic writers dwindling!? Where are the Matsumiya writers!? T_T I wanted to create a masterpost of fanfics I read for moments like these. Too bad I never did because I thought it'd never happen or thought I could never go so far back so forget it. Boo to me. I only remember the last few Matsumiya fics I read that had me swallowing hearts for days and perhaps you've already read them because they're so perfect it's blasphemy to not have read them.

<3<3<3<3 I feel like I've read every good Matsumiya fic out there. I need more Matsumiya fic in my life. I haven't been on LJ for so long I hope a ton have accumulated that I don't know of. Right! Back when Arashi were younger, there were members who were playful with each other, members who seemed awkward, members who just coped and other stuff. Nowadays, the biggest feeling I get for them is respect all around and being an older fan I love that feeling. It's so apparent how much they value each other and at the same time give each other space. Some people don't seem to realize how important that is esp now that they're in their 30's. I totally see Nino being sarcastic while appearing all passive-aggressive thus getting on Jun's nerves. XD I agree! A few people have stated this and I will state it again, Arashi members are different and they don't always see eye to eye, but there's enough balance in the group that even when they're unhappy they find ways to let it go. It's important to note how Arashi handle their differences or find it in themselves to step down from skewing their dynamics. Not everyone will get into a fist fight with their colleagues and childhood friends.

Yep, I remember Sho calling Ohno "Satoshi" a couple of times because being a former Yama shipper I used to squeal often when it happened too. (And despite not being an Ohmiya fan, when Ohno straight up called Nino "Kazunari" in Hawaii I was so so so happy!) I can't remember an instance, but Aiba/Nino used to call Sho "Sho-chan" because well that was an easier nickname to say. I thought Nino called Aiba "Masaki" at least once or twice? I think as they grew older and started to be more private about their individual lives, they gradually started to be more formal with each other. I believe the most formal irl would probably be Jun. He even uses -san when he calls them. (Although I found an old clip when Jun called Nino "Kazu" and I just burst into bubbles, being a Matsumiya shipper y'know.) It just happens to people. It's also probably very, very normal in Japan. I was shocked that although some families drop honorifics with each other, some families do seem to keep up the custom. I do remember that when Jun went to a TOKIO show to promote his movie with Ueno Juri, their seniors brought up a private story about Jun and Nino sort of bickering about something related to Arashi so that Kokubun Taichi got heated up and involved. I think that Jun and Nino aren't the type to confront each other (because, hello, Nino) but Nino while holding back also won't lie (that one book said they used to not get along too). It's not a confrontation, but the way I see it these two are the closest irl to ever come to crashing just because imho they are so different and at the same time straightforward, which of course I believe that's why Jun also seems to value Nino's opinion a lot. Whereas Sho back in the old days seems to have a lot of anger issues, and right now I would say he's just better at managing himself, he's too conscious to go off on his own members like a young buck (or like he did when he confronted Nino about the leftover food of his friends in their junior days, kekeke).

I would like to see another Nino drama, but I'm just being greedy. I haven't even got time to watch his special dramas at the end of the year yet. Love Jun's new hair too! So cute and refreshing. He likes suave hairstyles that's why this is special too. Good to know. XD

I fell in love with their crazy moves in tokei jikake no umbrella, but I don't think I'll ever get used to this. I'm not even sure what they're doing, lol. I have to watch the perf and listen to the whole song one of these days.

No, you're right. They get along very well. There was this one book where an ex-manager came out early in 2015? to reveal old stuff about Arashi and he/she said Jun and Nino didn't get along initially. We will never know what's the truth, but currently Matsumiya (and everyone else in Arashi) at the very least treasure and respects each other as co-workers and bandmates. Matsumiya giving us so much love in 2015, seriously. EDIT: Everything that koala25panda said. Gosh, I could spam Matsumiya all day! Nino also chose Jun for a husband out of Arashi even before that Bet de Arashi episode. (Sorry, Oh-chan.) _____________________________________________________________________________________________ On another note: I don't watch a lot of J-dramas but Satomi is cute and interesting (and Ohno's interest in her for whatever reason is so cute). It'll be fun if they get to work together, but of course for the reasons stated above already Satomi isn't the best choice for her own sake as an actress and time-wise. It may be only me, but I hope Yoshitaka Yuriko makes a return. She's not popular and she's not the type to take on romantic roles (rather, she actually challenges herself compared to the more popular actresses). I just want her to work with Arashi again, preferably Jun or Sho but as Ohno's leading lady would be cool too. It will never happen though I can dream.
