This was probably talked about a ton earlier, but I don't wanna backtrack so I'm gonna ask anyway hah:

Any OH Onces planning on going to Kcon? I am flying in by myself ;A; so it would be nice to know there are some friendly faces lurking in the crowd.

I ordered 2 copies + the poster from KTown4U, then panicked and ordered a back up copy from Kpopmart just in case I didn't get my order within the first 500 copies (I ordered about two hours after KT4U listed it, but checking a few hours later they had already sold over 800 copies!)

In hindsight I should have just ordered from Kpopmart  It would have been more cost effective that way...

But at least I'll have a slightly better chance of getting the photocards I want? lol

agreed, attempting to bring more attention to this in the west will only risk making chinese parties angry once again - and there's nothing that the u.s. can do to huang an anyway, it is not their jurisdiction and they have bigger political fish to fry right now anyway. 

the best thing we can all do right now is not do anything to re-stir the pot; just sit back and see where the chips fall in the next few days/weeks, and let's all focus our efforts in providing tzuyu with words of support in the meantime.

As far as I know, in the first statement JYPE stated that they halt only Tzuyu's activites in China, not all of girls. However, I don't think they will be going to China as a group for a while.

ikr I can't believe they aren't doing something about it. Sure, TWICETAGRAM isn't the most important thing right now but it's one of the places were fans interact directly with the members... 40k comments there, a big amount of them are in chinese, I'm sure a lot of them are insulting the girls. Jype needs to do something about it asap. Remove all that nonsense. Keep their IG "clean" and safe for the girls and their fans. :/

honestly :( it's really the only platform they have for immediate (i)-fan interaction right now, positive or negative. and they need all the positive comments they can get right now!! all of those c-netz comments are so unnecessary and need to be removed asap.

I'm satisfied with Jype's statements. Their statements aren't offensive to anyone. Let's just remember that majority of people who are mad and hating are the same people who have absolutely no reason/proof about Tzuyu doing/saying wrong because she never did/say anything wrong. So obviously these people won't be satisfied anyway, they are blindly hating. Jype said what they had to say, they protect Tzuyu and TWICE for now so it's good for me. I hope in the next months Jype can fix these issues with China (in private) and just focus on korean promotions for TWICE (: If TWICE in China means 8 members, then I rather not have TWICE in China at all. Focus on Korea with all 9 together. The girls just debuted they will keep rising and reach higher levels, this will just make them stronger!

 

I wonder if anyone (manager/staff) at Jype can speak chinese (other than the idols)... I wish they could let a staff log in TWICETAGRAM account and clean the comment sections and remove the insulting chinese comments.

my thoughts exactly! 

jype should have staff who are fluent in chinese, or at the very least translators on retainer, especially with them having past schedules for their artists in china. it really would be great if they could take care of those awful comments; none of the girls should have to see that hateful junk, especially tzuyu :(

it's funny you should bring this up because i saved a post from tumblr a while ago where a user was talking about this, and i thought it was an interesting lineup. let me see if i can find it...

yup here we go:

Sailor Moon: i considered sana bc of her sailor moon cosplay during sixteen, but ultimately i think it's dahyun: for one she's just got that /look/, and then the more i think abt it the more it makes sense; she's ~easily distinguishable, has a food related nickname (lmfao), is loud but sensitive, is considered "immature" by some (haters) but has a big heart and dreams. she is 100% sailor moon lmao. look at this face http://41.media.tumblr.com/0981f7624c5dd7b6808a9cfb13864e34/tumblr_no3z653jNL1t4eeo3o1_500.pngit's such a dahyun face

 

Sailor Mercury: THIS WAS HARD but i'm gonna say chaeng. one might expect mina or tzuyu i guess, since they're quieter? but chaeyoung gets surprisingly shy and flustered when live attention is on her, despite her ~prodigal level talents. also her idk... background and general personality and inerests line up w/ mercury best imo (art/art history, her vocal training before switching to rap, etc.)

 

Sailor Mars: JIHYO TOTALLY JIHYO FIGHT ME. i've seen mina portrayed as mars before but i think that's solely based on appearance, and jihyo is totally mars just w/ her temper in check lmao - elegant, confident, good at what she does, "self-proclaimed" (though in jihyo's case actually official) leader of the group... plus her hair is mars red now~

Sailor Jupiter: this is one fanart portrayal i've seen that i agree with - momo. she might not have the height going for her but she does seem to be straddling a place between a feminine~ and tomboy/tough image that they're trying to portray. she's clearly one of the more athletic members, but she LOVES PINK, and she comes off a lot more intimidating than she actually is, especially judging from her early sixteen edit when she was constantly pitted against natty and mnet through in all those "glare glare glare GLARE" cuts (but she could totally kick all of our asses and pummel our faces in w/ her heart of gold)

 

Sailor Saturn: tzuyu - i considered chibi moon for a split second for her, but nahhh. her brand of goofiness is more quiet and either accidentally funny or devilishly and unexpectedly clever than anything else, and i remember that plot arc where uranus and neptune were like "oh god saturn is coming this is TERRIBLE" which reflects that brief period in sixteen where the 6mix girls (nayeon and jungyeon esp) seemed threatened by tzuyu and her sudden rise, but then warmed up to her n fell in love when they were placed on the same team. and i truly believe tzuyu could secretly end the world if she really wanted to xoxo

 

Sailor Neptune: nayeonnnnnnnnn. (i know some people have been saying momo bc jungmo and jungyeon is clearly uranus, but i stand by nayeon and not even for 2yeon reasons!) she's got that clasically feminine and elegant~ look about her, and her actions are sometimes misinterpreted as cold~ - but even though she's the unnie of the group and takes care of her members with a caring hand, there's a goofy and mischievous side to her as well.

 

Sailor Uranus: like i said, def jungyeon - i think this may be the placement the majority of twice fans can agree on? it's not just a matter of her shorter hair or the way she dresses; personality wise, i think it fits her quite well. jungyeon's known for being extremely honest, almost to the point of wearing her heart on her sleeve - and also, despite her chic~ image, she's a definite goofball and prankster within the group. 

 

Sailor Pluto: ofc "dark sexy" mina would get the sailor scout whose powers revolve around ~the underworld and darkness. plus, visually, i think the comparison is even more spot-on than the initial mars comparisons; while mina is one of younger members in the group after jihyo, she easily has the most vamped up image, as well as being one of the quietest members of the group at times.
