I think when she's on her own she naturally steps up and shows more confidence, charm and dynamism. When she's in the group she tends to go into maknae mode to where defers to others and prefers harmony/order over spotlight. It seems it's just engrained in her. That's why I love seeing her do passion projects outside the group and interacting with new and different people. That's where I feel like I see more the "real" Seohyun in all her spectrum and not just "maknae who loves unnies" (that's nice but not a personality). She said herself she's more than just "SNSD's maknae". She has her own life, social circles, interests, aspirations, opinions, style etc. She obviously loves SNSD but I think she loves the members/fans/legacy more than the actual output per se. Remember when she had to pick her least favorite title track and she chose almost all of them lol? I think with Seohyun it's really easy to tell when her heart's reaaaally in something vs when she's just doing it as work. She's obviously still professional and lovely but it's different. For example I don't think she was really that interested in or excited for the Secret station. I'm excited for her solo album because she'll have a lot of passion and attachment to it the way she does with musicals. She'll have that "happy/vibrant/excited glow" again. She'll get to do lots of interviews and express her feelings through lyrics, that's what I'm most excited for. To learn more about her. Also solo photoshoots and performances! She brings it more when she's on her own.

Please don't go to the bashing thread to defend. It's annoying and against the rules. People are allowed to say whatever they want there, and EVERYONE gets bashed, even for reasons everyone knows are dumb or irrational. But like I said again, that's what the thread is for. However dumb or irrational. One place to let off stream. Either learn to look past it when it's your bias or don't visit the thread if you know you'll be offended. Breaking rules only makes your idol and her fans get bashed more. You can vent here, make a new topic, just don't defend there.

It's pretty bad at the moment but I hope it's because right now everything's still in the heat of the scandal and people are just being ridiculous as they usually are. That said, AOA suffered a similar setback awhile ago and it hasn't been looking good for them. Although it was only 1-2 members involved, the whole group gets shamed and ridiculed now. I'd even say their offense wasn't as offensive as this one (being asked to delete a Japanese flag and then turning around to post a confederate one - complete yikes). SNSD is of course a lot bigger and stronger, and Seohyun does have a pretty spotless reputation and good favor in general but it's not like netizens haven't lashed out at her before too for no reason. All in all there's nothing we can do except wait and hope for the best because any noise or activity from members in the next few weeks is just gonna invite messy commentary and reactions. It's really a pretty helpless situation. But I trust all of them will recover in time, just not right away. If SM goes through with her rumored solo date, it's pretty soon so I hope all goes well. I know she's strong but I can't help but feel irked especially because she of all people cares so much about history and patriotism.

Fuck man, I hope this careless flag scandal doesn't get in the way of Seohyun's efforts for her solo album or how her dramas are received. The hate for SNSD in Korea is so strong right now I can't even explain to you. Not just Tiff, but all the members are getting called out for everything and they're being called an "expired group". Seohyun's never DONE anything but I'm sure they will find something to use against her too. It's serious this time. Rising flag scandals almost never go away and this is 100 times worse because it's on INDEPENDENCE DAY. I know Tiff didn't mean harm but god, after so many mishaps with flags on SNS in the past, she should've learned. Netizens say all the time to be careful and spare about SNS. She was a scandal waiting to happen. I can't stand to think Seohyun's worked so hard and finally finally finally gets something of her own, her own time to shine, to potentially have it compromised over something so stupid.

In 2014 Seohyun finally got her first musical after 7 years, without SM's support. Kyu Hyun revealed they refused to let her do them before because of stipulations about her image and kissing. I'm 100% sure her priority in 2014 was making demands for her freedom in musicals. Every musical she's done since then has been through her own networking and auditions, with wild contrast to her early image. She's never done an SM musical. I imagine this is something SM conceded but wasn't happy about since she was never let off from any group performances, even overseas, so she could attend practice or musical stages. Just because she prioritized musicals then doesn't mean she signed up for mediocre minor Chinese project after mediocre Chinese project when it's obvious behind the scenes she has a close network of people with a lot of esteem in the Korean film and drama industry, and she actively gets recruited for high-quality. You say she's very happy with SNSD, nobody ever questioned that. Her not doing the movie or showing a smile for group activities isn't a question of her "choosing SNSD". It's being an absolute professional and shouldn't be hung over her and written off like she has no valid ambitions or heartache in the matter. Where is the "choice" when it's someone else making the final decision? If it was Seohyun's choice she would have made room for both like she always always always does. In fact, there wasn't even a real scheduling conflict. April-August she was entirely free except July for comeback. It was a minor role that was filmed in a few weeks. If anything I think it was a "fck you" contracting only high-profile musicals outside SM, or they didn't want her to get too ambitious. National blockbuster movie, national blockbuster musical, AND a solo album all in direct succession? Yeah right. Happy with SM? Not even close. Only last year she was dragging them every chance she could. About musicals, movies, dramas, music. She was on Radio Star in August with biting words about SM making poor decisions for her. This was just after her movie got dropped. There is no way it was Seohyun's choice, and no way someone as painfully careful and considerate as her would be so blunt if she wasn't upset. She wouldn't compromise that talent and prestige she could be working with just for a month of Party, I'm sorry. Like I said before, consider it like turning down the script, cast and director of "Inception" in the west. That level. The truth is SM has a rule with its actor idols. They rarely allow them projects of any high caliber or general public esteem because it gives those idols leverage to escape. So they are put in money projects or in-house efforts. Only a handful of the top few ever get anything worth recognition and it doesn't come easy. YN for example finally got a TvN drama with a young, talented actor after years of acting in meh SM-mandated projects, only because the second Chinese drama they had lined up for her fell-through. They were extremely reluctant to let her do K2 or confirm her casting but it was already in the media and JiChangWook has huge Hallyu appeal (again:China). What I do agree with you though is I hope Seohyun makes detailed stipulations for her choices during the next contract meetings. I hope all of them do and all of them get the chance to branch out to the best of their potential.

I know exactly how a number of SONE would react. They'd tweet F*CK YOU to SM over and over, brag about how relevant and goddess-like their faves are while bashing S*zy or S*hee for getting the parts, fight about relevancy, make countless threads about relevancy, go to the top of a mountain and scream about relevancy, relevancy, relevancy.

Last I checked, Seomates didn't bombard a major TV show's message board to bash SNSD and tell production to keep them off the air so YN could appear alone. We didn't threaten to pull out from buying albums because our bias didn't get enough lines. We didn't bombard a music show or a game brand's website with complaints because we didn't get our way about our idol like TY fans. We didn't down vote anyone's streaming ratings like fans of the two most famous members are doing to each other on major music sites right now. We don't leave hate and harassment in other member's SNS. We don't make low blows about their family. We remind ourselves and each other all the time to be considerate about other members even when things get heated, because Seohyun loves them and leaving SNSD is not an option to her. We don't bash other group's fandoms or members, we aren't arrogant about SNSD like SONE do on the regular. We don't try to shove in anyone's face how much money Seohyun or how many trophies she has. We don't bash male idols or rookie girl groups for no damn reason. We were the ones calling out Jess stans posing as Seomates so they could bash Tiff/TaeNy. We don't judge Hyoyeons's fans or Sooyoung's fans or Yoona's fans anyone's fans for complaining about proper treatment and opportunities to showcase their talent. Everyone should get what they deserve. We're not trying to compete with any other members for most popularity or most money. We don't post anywhere except in our own spaces. Don't even try to the "you guys are worse". I saw how things were yesterday. I didn't see anything rude or out of line except SONE whining about Seomates being upset. The worst I saw was "I hope Seohyun leaves SM"? Isn't that even a tiny bit understandable given the news and disappointment? Nobody actually thinks she's going to leave SM or the group. I didn't see any Seomates starting fights with anybody, only responding to people telling them to shut up. They were expressing themselves in their own space own space own space. I still have no idea why we owe to anybody to shut up when we aren't even saying anything against anyone except SM. Suddenly SONE are all Lee Sooman stans? We don't get to talk about how Seohyun feels even though she tells us how she feels, but you're sure it's her decision? Excuse me, what? HAS IT EVER OCCURED TO YOU THAT SEOHYUN SPELLED IT OUT IN INTERVIEWS MULTIPLE THAT SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE FREEDOM SHE WOULD LIKE IN SO MANY THINGS? THAT SHE HAS SPOKEN ABOUT WANTING THIS EXACT TYPE OF MOVIE SINCE ALWAYS? THAT SHE WOULD KILL TO WORK WITH THIS TEAM OF RESPECTED PEOPLE THAT MOST IDOLS CAN'T EVEN GET NEAR, REGARDLESS OF "SUCCESS"? THAT SHE ACTUALLY WENT TO TO THE FINAL READING WITH THE DIRECTOR HIMSELF? THAT THERE WAS PLENTY OF TIME BETWEEN APRIL AND AUGUST THAT SHE WAS FREE TO FILM? AS IN, ALMOST ALL OF IT? THAT SHE LITERALLY GAVE AN INTERVIEW RIGHT AFTER SHE LOST THIS MOVIE ABOUT HOW SM HOLDS HER BACK HER ACTING OPPORTUNITY AND SHE "HATES THE COMPANY". THAT THE ARTICLE LITERALLY SAYS SM TURNED IT DOWN FOR HER? It's. Right. There. OR ARE YOU THAT DELUSIONAL LIKE JESS STANS?

"Death wish"? Where? After all that attempt to be reasonable and thorough all you take away is "death wish?". How immature. I am saying "we" as in most Seomates who engage in the fandom. Reality check: most active Seomates feel the same as me, not you. Not all of them, but certainly the ones who ALWAYS promote her, who always support her, who always spend money on her, who translate for her, who participate in letter projects, who donate to event projects, who make fan art and media, who stay updated on all her news, who fly out to see her musicals, who go out on a limb for her every time, who went to theaters to watch her movie, who will stream and gif and discuss every episode of her web drama, who will stream any music she releases, who vote tirelessly for her, who keep our head high for her and encourage all her projects regardless of how crappy, who are still here for her after all these years. How dare you even insinuate that all we do is complain. Seomates are doing everything we can in the short time to organize support for her solo while major SONE who "love all equally" are hardly even talking about it. Seomates will buy anything she has to offer, in bulk. Will SONE? When Seohyun got her role in So I Married an Anti-fan, Seomates tried their best not to bash anything or her co-stars so she wouldn't get hate but SONE who don't even bias her were trashing Exo and creating problems for her. So many just in this thread paid to watch her movie that was awful and she barely even appeared in. We are not the ones you need to worry about not paying or looking out for her. Someone that can't even stick up for their bias isn't a saint. The whole point of a fan is to encourage them and be vocal for them. Seohyun herself has made that very clear. In the business of entertainment companies respond to demand and activity, not whatever tail between the legs you think we should be hushed away with. She gets taken advantage of because SM thinks it's okay, because fandom doesn't care about her anyway. It's 100% fine if you love the group more, or don't want to bother with the headache, or don't have the balls to speak up for her, whichever. But you won't change how others feel, especially when it's from a rightful place. And don't assume you're the one being more mature here. After I went through everything to say the problem isn't with SNSD but her management, you still accused of a "death wish" to the group and in the same breath pointed out not to generalize lol. We don't want to dwell on this either, but like I said, IT'S ONLY BEEN ONE DAY. You can't even allow that? Fandom is not that serious that anyone needs to cower about it, especially when you're not doing anything WRONG. What are they going to do, come on knock on your door? Shade you in a tweet? Say you're not a "real fan"? Ouch Are we complaining the SNSD thread? Anywhere outside our own space or SNS accounts, where we have every right to express ourselves? How are we "ruining" anything when we're not imposing on anyone? We are 100% in our own lane. People trying to tell us what to think, say and feel are not. If you go back a couple pages I was even defending fans of other members who were BASHING Seohyun because that's their own twitter and own opinion.

Can't SONE mind their own business and let Seomates feel how they feel? Of course we "just look up ahead", that's what we ALWAYS do. It hasn't been one day and I've seen so many SONE complaining about Seomates which I find even more disgusting. There is no reason how we feel about this should bother any of you so much. The only ones we feel anger towards is SM, and the fact that so many SONE's first reaction is to tell us to shut up and even defend the company (WHEN SEOHYUN HERSELF HAS LASHED OUT AT THEM MANY TIMES) tells me how little some of you actually care about her feelings or well-being. Other celebrities have even spoken about her mistreatment. You have no perspective of the scale of what she loses out on, over and over. No perspective of how much she wants these things, which she tells us over and over. Have a little sensitivity and empathy. I respect SNSD as a group and as a first priority and as Seohyun's loves but not to the point of blind support of everything. I am not a fan of the music or the ships or the memes, but I follow them because it is Seohyun's group. Most Seomates did not come to love Seohyun from SNSD but WGM, 6-7 years ago. We became aware of SNSD and Kpop because of Seohyun, just like many non-kpop fans came to know SNSD through YN or TY. Seohyun never gets the same credit although she pulled in so many fans herself. Because she had a lot of dreams and wanted to prove herself. Since then we have waited and waited and waited. You have no idea how much Seohyun has been delayed and left behind because of SM's poor choices and handling of her options. She has the most wasted and dragged-out potential of any member. After WGM, Y*nghwa was pushed as the golden boy and cash cow for FNC while SM slept on Seohyun entirely even though SHE was the one who resonated with the public more, SHE was the one that set the tone of their program, SHE was the one that brought in ratings and touched people's hearts. Nobody wants or needs SNSD to disband. We want SM to handle her in the way she deserves. She has proven herself a million times as dedicated and hardworking and responsible without a fault. Never missed one stage in 9 years. Never stopped improving. Never had an attitude. Never created problems. She is NOT just a "maknae of SNSD". She said this herself. She does not want to be tied forever to a rank in a group but appreciated for her own talent and hard work in many fields. How can she do that if she never gets the deserved support or opportunities to build and showcase it? ALL of the members need to realistically establish themselves in their solo careers. The time where they can coast on past success and relevancy is dwindling, regardless of if they stay together or not. It's easy for you to say we should just get over it when other members have had a head start to promote themselves individually for years. Seohyun isn't known for anything on her own except musicals, and that was only cemented in the last few months THROUGH HER OWN ARRANGEMENTS AND EFFORTS, NOT SM. Sorry if another SNSD comeback is not our priority right now. 6 years of training, 9 years of working. She has earned her time to start focusing on herself a bit. If anything SONE are the delusional and selfish ones because ALL members have said recently that they have sacrificed and now want to focus on their individual paths for awhile but you all keep complaining for more comebacks and albums instead of waiting and letting them grow. Her solo debut is looking incredibly rushed. The acting projects she gets are a joke with no time to build up for her debut. She has never been on a variety show alone aside from WGM. Never been on a singing show. Never had a lead or even proper 2nd lead role in a broadcast drama. Never done a musical with SM's support, and started 7 years after her debut ). Has almost nothing to show for with OSTs. Barely does photoshoots. Never been on a magazine cover alone except for the time they did 9 individual covers for Marie Claire and Seohyun's SOLD OUT FIRST. Can't even get a damn solo Station that isn't a duet or CF song. And yet the Korean public still reacts strongly to her. This is a forum for Seomates to discuss their feelings because we know they are not welcome elsewhere. You don't get to tell us to we are disgusting and have to "move on" without even letting us get it out of our system. No idol's fans have been more patient and more understanding.

Tweets with zero retweets or attention shouldn't be brought in here to stir drama. I don't like what they're saying but it's not relevant enough to get upset over or be important. Everyone has a right to their opinion however annoying and every artist has troll fans. As long as it's not a sentiment that is blowing up we don't need to address it or make a mountain out of a molehill. The last thing I care about right now is fans of other members when there's plenty to to talk about with Seohyun herself and plenty of anger to direct towards SM. Seohyun went on Radio Star in August last year, right after Tra*n to B*san ended filming. She spoke candidly about her struggle with SM to get opportunities to act. At the time we thought she was only talking about Arch101. Looking back now, it is obvious she was throwing shade for both wounds. Anybody who says she turned it down on her own knows nothing about Seohyun or what she has indicated many many times if people actually pay attention. This movie is not just any movie. It was with a critically acclaimed cast and huge director with a lot of respect in Korea. The movie was high budget and got incredible views and box office results in Korea which is extremely rare. Not just in Korea but across the world. The cast was sent to international film festivals and major foreign outlets reviewed and played the film. Think about the impact of something like "Inception" in the West. That scale. How painful and disgusting that SM would get in the way of this not kind of chance for her not just once but twice. There were five months to film and she was free for most of them. Probably the most free she has been in the last three years. You know she never has more than even a few days where she is not engaged in project. But April-Aug last year she was doing almost nothing. She has prepared for comebacks under much tighter pressure. For example going straight from Moon Embracing the Sun into Mr. Mr.. She practiced same time as her musical which is already extremely exhausting. She filmed her Chinese movie through musical rehearsals too. She practiced remotely for Tokyo Dome through video because she was juggling so many things. Talking about her schedule in the way April-Aug is just laughable. The role was a supporting role. She had plenty of time to film it. She even read the script with the director himself. SM is a complete joke for pretending she was too busy. That was the least busy time she ever had. No wonder she says this on Radio Star without any filter or joke

Rumor in the news was for a November debut, then Instiz rumor said October, now Naver rumor says September. For now I think the best one to trust is the news rumor because although they can be off, they are usually off by being too early. Considering preparation time and her drama activities it's really unlikely she would be debuting as soon as September. October is when her web drama airs, so I think SM would want to wait a bit after that too? She is starting to do photoshoots, which is a good sign. I remember Fany did a lot of photoshoots starting a few months before her solo. If SM is really trying to push Seohyun for September then it seems way too rushed. She should steadily release pictorials and interviews for at least 2-3 months before. Scarlet Heart will be getting a simultaneous release worldwide. It will be broadcast in China, Japan, SEA all at the same time as Korea, and it will also be subbed online for English speaking audiences at the same time. There is really a huge promotion machine for this drama so I hope Seohyun can take a lot of advantage of that even if her role is small. I hope she attends the promotion events and of course, that her role might really leave an impression if she does well. Web drama will air in October and she has good start in China with Pantene but I think SM really did a disservice to her by giving her a duet CF track for a Station instead of a prelude release for her solo. It's not that the song shouldn't be released, but not as a station. It is not the type of song that introduces her in any way as a solo artist the way other members' station releases did. YR's solo is next year too, I think it's a little unfair that her buildup will start the same time as Seohyun's (or even earlier considering her plentiful variety shows and drama appearances as a lead actress well in advance) while Seohyun's promotion is all dumped on us practically last minute. Still I am hopeful everything will work in her favor and there will be a good strategy to build attention around her solo. We don't know what might be brewing still. She is the queen of surprises after all. I don't want to think SM thinks of her so lowly when she is also a TTS member and the other two members have been given quite a lot of support. Also I don't want to think Seohyun isn't aware of things and just sits by to half-assed promotion. She is a proactive and thorough person.

Is a reality or variety show that unlikely? Even the "neglected" members do them all the time. Why do we have such low hope for Seohyun :( Enough photoshoots really do help though. Remember Korea is a visual and web society. Good photo shoots become hot discussions on Naver and discussion boards. Especially for someone like Seohyun who does them infrequently, a sudden influx of great ones (like in good magazines with good concepts) can really catch attention and be a big deal. She's gained fans from musicals but musicals aren't something the entire public knows about. If it were up to just musicals then people like Bada and Ry*owook would be selling well. I think SM's hoping her appearance in Moon Lovers and the Chinese web drama will cover her "promotion" but that isn't a great plan to rely on because she's too minor a focus in Moon Lovers and the web drama is....well, a web drama. In China. She needs to get on a popular variety show (either as a fixed guest or do a round of them like Happy Together, Running man like they used to in the old days), or do her own reality program. I think it's time anyway, almost all her fans just sustain off of WGM and that was ages ago (The TTS and Channel SNSD didn't really offer much of a sense of getting to know her in the same way). Even one of those self-cam Onstyle shows I'll take.

Speculation and discussion about her activities is what this thread is for. If Seomates shouldn't share their thoughts and worries and spazzing here, then where? It's great that you trust her enough to not question or talk about anything but that doesn't mean those do are overstepping. We're expressing our interest, love, and excitement. That's what fans DO. Seohyun herself LIKES fans being curious and excited about her projects, she LIKES encouragement and concern about her future. She doesn't work her butt off for no response. Plus activity among fans is something that attracts new fans. This thread used to be dead and it was hard to get it moving, and now it has over a million views. So I very much appreciate the people who are posting here frequently, speculating, analyzing, sharing, and fangirling (or fanboying). I understand why it would be annoying to you but there's no harm. She knows as a public figure whatever she posts on SNS will be speculated about which is why she's so careful about what goes up and also why she uses it to her advantage to post hints and build interest in her work. Having thoughts and opinions about her work isn't invading her privacy. Singing, acting, etc. for the public is her job. I think most Seomates love her enough and are smart enough not to get wrapped up in expectations to the point of lashing at her for not meeting them. Honestly nothing she does will disappoint me. We're always proud of her and understanding of her. And usually she exceeds anything we have in mind anyway. But I agree that shipping needs to be kept where she can't see it. That IS overstepping. Whatever logic shippers pull out of their butts, the fact is projecting your fantasies about her love life to her will always be unhealthy and uncomfortable. Imagine yourself in her position, how awkward it would be. It makes me cringe so much when I see fans sending messages directly to her about who she should date or how they support their ship's "love". Embarrassing. I hope it isn't your last post. This thread thrives on all types of fans and she needs all of them, especially now. "The value of co-existence".

I have a lot of trust in Seohyun to make sure her album is a success. You know what they say, still waters run deep. She always knows how to get her way and sway people when it is time, and she has a lot of strong connections. She also has a lot of pride and meticulousness in her work, and a solo album is the biggest statement she can make about herself. So I trust she's planned thoroughly. I'm not expecting big collaborators because it's better to keep expectations low but I wouldn't be surprised if she managed to get Pixie Lott or someone else involved. She was invited to work with her, I don't think Seohyun's the type to let a connection pass. From IGAB, "Baby Maybe" actually did pretty well on the charts for a side track. That was the one Pixie composed. The only thing I'm nervous about is if SM give her an terrible title track like Holler or something with EDM. I'm also nervous to see how much SM spend on her solo. The last two were both filmed overseas with very high quality MV's and album production. Both got reality programs (TaengCam and Unnies Slam Dunk) for promotion. TF had a lot of photo shoots prior and after. I know Seohyun will do as much as she can on her own but I just hope to see her promoted and taken care of by similarly by SM. It's not too much to ask. She is also a TTS member and a soloist, a valuable "product", why shouldn't she get at least that level of detail and effort from the company?

Like Seohyun said, let people think what they want. It's better not to brag that she's for sure more popular or she'll sell more or whatever because we have no idea. It's also good to get out of this mindset that she has to sell more than certain others. There's no shame in selling less than members who have long been promoted more. The only shame is if we don't do whatever we can to support and promote her. Starting right now. If we can influence people positively to support her with $$$ that's way more useful and productive than winning an argument. Opinions aren't success, numbers are. How do you influence people? By being cool, awesome, smart, creative, funny and friendly enough that they naturally want to join you. Nobody wants to help out a bitter, annoying, or closed-off fandom. Let everything bounce off and remember the goal. Be inviting and alluring. We as fans have to sell her just as much as SM if not more. That user who keep making comparison threads, let him/her. It's honestly free attention. Use every opportunity someone brings up to talk about Seohyun to just promote her solo. Don't get angry or petty. Make Seolo gifs or just spam ♡BUY SEOLO 2K16♡ in big ass letters and move on.

About the type of song she releases, I think a few things are important: We know Seohyun for having a pretty and stable voice but the general public doesn't. I mean they know off-hand that she can sing, but they're not accustomed to her voice because she never really got a chance to show it off individually aside from musicals recently. They know TY's voice because she was known for her OSTs even before she was known as SNSD's main vocal. Almost a 10 year head start. And others had "unique" vocals (though that didn't really speak to much on the charts). Seohyun's voice isn't as strong as some and isn't as automatically distinctive as some others but it can be magic with the right material. My point is she needs a song that is vocally challenging enough (within her capacity) to shut anyone up, but stylized enough that it isn't dependent on just vocals (because then she's inviting "lesser TY" comparisons). Personally I think she should stay away from anything that focuses too much on high notes and power vocals (like Problem and Bang Bang). I'm glad she did those stages because it proves that she can, but her voice shines in a middle range (like Stuff Like That There). That's where the warmth and classiness in her tone stand out. More than a lot of high notes, I think it's more important the song be catchy/memorable, high quality production, and different qualities of her voice are layered well (because she's the queen of versatility). It'd be amazing if we could even get some voice acting. You guys know how Lana Del Rey or Nicki Minaj switch between different "characters" in one song? Seohyun would definitely be capable of that. As for the type of stage, it's hard to predict. Because she's mentioned a lot that she wants to do a singer-songwriter route with instruments, but then she also REALLY likes upbeat dance music. I'm confused as to whether she'll incorporate choreography but my gut says she will only because she'd want to prove her dancing just like her singing. It makes me really excited to see what kind of genre and set-up she'll deliver because I believe she's creative enough to get everything she wants and establish her own color like TY and TF did.

I posted this in that thread about what kind of song Seohyun would release Let's be careful about being preemptively defensive and insisting everyone's a hater. That's just inviting people to bash Seohyun/Seohyun stans more as delusional/whiny/etc, before she even releases anything. Trust me there will be plenty of Seohyun bashing when she releases her solo regardless of whether it's good or not because at that point she's fair game for "opinions". And people always find something to complain about. Seomates aren't used to Seohyun getting the kind of bashing other idols get so I think we're unprepared for what's coming. Just know it's fine if people don't agree with you, but if they are determined to hate (those type are easy to spot), you're not going to change their mind no matter how much you reply and argue with them. Losing your cool just feeds them too. It's fair to argue back to a certain point but it's also smart to know when it's a lost cause, neg and move on. I've seen so many troll threads go on and on cause some of you just keep going -__-. Drown out annoying people with positivity and excitement or try to ignore them. Like I said, it doesn't change the fact Seohyun will go ahead with whatever she likes and a lot of people are supporting her.

I agree with this so much. For all those who say she doesn't stand out or have personality she was seriously the first idol that seemed...human to me? When you first get into kpop everything is exaggerated and accommodating (to variety show hosts, audiences, fans), especially for female idols. Do a sexy dance when you're told, act like a baby when you're told, wink and preen when you're told, do impressions when you're told, laugh on cue, eat on cue, have a perfectly relatable image, ruin your image, feed your ships, be a meme....seriously after the first few times you are exposed to it doesn't feel funny or interesting at all. It's more awkward and unsettling, boring. I really don't understand how people can be entertained or invested in that routine for years and years. It's like fast food. So when I came across Seohyun who didn't fit that mold at all I was really pleasantly taken aback by her. She wasn't trying to have an attitude or be different on purpose, she was just honest and naturally charming. People said she's stiff and rehearsed when it was the complete opposite to me. She was truly being herself. I felt that she really absorbed and responded to her environments critically without being judgmental or trying to make a statement. Her sincerity, vulnerability, unapologetic quest to better herself and unique approach to everything really sold her to me on a deeper level. So I totally get what you are saying about her feeling like someone who is "intimate" to stan. If it wasn't for her I would've moved on from kpop a long time ago like any passing fad. But I really care about her and want to see her develop. I notice there's rarely ever half-hearted Seomates or ones that like her for purely superficial or typical "stan" reasons. To me her beauty, voice, popularity, and celebrity are just a bonus.

I agree, though I don't mind either way as long as she's comfortable. If she wants to flaunt it I won't stop her. Special stages and tour stages are usually kind of gaudy so I don't think we need to worry about that kind of styling. I think Seohyun is smart and she'll find a concept that' both tasteful and sensual at the same time. We sound so confident she'll do a sexy concept hahaha. But I really think she will. Or whatever concept she does she will incorporate some suggestiveness to it. She seems intent on changing her image and her solo will definitely have some surprise factor.

Do you know what's funny? While international kpop fans and sone are still stuck on "awkward Seobaby" "can she even sing" or whatever, Korean fans and the general public have long moved on from that. She's considered the most womanly in the group and her fans are almost all adults. When he solo rumor came out so did so many fans who were quiet only to say "finally!!!!!! we love her voice" "we're excited to see what surprises she'll pull" "please SM give her a good song and concept". She has a lot of support just from a RUMOR which normally people are quick to say "hmm...are you sure..." "let's wait" "is she even capable?". Normally netizens beg idols for cute concepts, ballads, to be pure and generic. Seohyun is the first idol I've seen where they're pleading for a DANCE performance and MATURE concept. Because they trust her to do something elegant and classy, and they've seen her on stage with musicals. They know what she's capable of and know a ballad would be waste.

This is why we should definitely communicate with her daily, even if it's just little things and wishes. She definitely read them in the last few days. If she sees people interested in the details of her solo she'll have more ideas and work even harder to show an amazing result. Confidence and interest from fans is really important. Remember guys a solo debut is a big deal and it needs all the promotion and conversation it can get. It is like running a marathon for idol and fans. I don't know exactly where TTS fits this year but I hope it's after her solo because honestly Sone will spend less on her debut if they have to choose between the unit or the solo. It would be really unfair IMO, especially since we've already had multiple TTS and Ta*Ny comebacks already. But we don't know what SM will do, you know they love TTS. We can't change their schedule but we can urge Seohyun not to settle for a cheap or ill-thought out debut. Keep (politely) urging her to get the best quality songs, music video, concept, and promotions she can. It should at least be the standard SM gave the previous two soloists otherwise it's too unfair. So we have to keep (politely) urging SM, stylists, choreographers, producers too that we expect her to have everything she deserves. Hope we start seeing IG posts of her in the studio soon. If it's a good song and a good concept she will naturally get attention and praise.

I think she gets way less messages on Twitter too so there is a higher chance of her seeing a comment. IG moves really quickly and there's lot of spam comments that bury anything thoughtful. If you tag Seohyun in a picture on instagram, she gets a notification every time it is liked and retweeted too.

I see a lot of comments on IG and Twitter telling Seohyun to change her styling/glam team for solo activities. TBH it's a good idea. I don't trust PD2DA. Seohyun reads comments and mentions so now is the perfect time to express to her anything we can before she starts planning and organizing her solo (if she hasn't already). She has been updating so frequently and trying to monitor our wishes. Even posted a fancam when fans were sad they couldn't see her Bang Bang stage. We should leave lots of comments for her every day with various suggestions and wishes, so she knows we are interested and hyping her solo activities. She will of course do as she wants, but it doesn't hurt to get it out there. She might see ideas she likes.

Happy to see her out and about but I realized recently I much prefer her cute personal style from musical days than sponsored airport and event style. She doesn't usually wear cakey makeup like this either, who did that? I wish she would embrace her shorter hair and try new vibe like this.
