And yet again, my inability to comprehend Korean beauty standards is revealed. I will never understand this general trend towards such a, for lack of a better term, vanilla, inoffensive pretty*. Every so often someone with character to their face (Sohee, Jiyeon) is considered gorgeous but that's like 1 of every 10 'top visuals'. Hwasa has so much character to herself that it floors me with how pretty she is, especially with how much she suits a femme fatale retro look, but apparently you wouldn't want to look like that IRL? OK. Even make-up free she's an adorable squishy ball of cute. Between this and Wheein 'not being crazy gorgeous but cute' or whatever it was, I really am at a loss sometimes. *Nothing against the girls who do fit this, obviously. I definitely agree that they are pretty but Korea stans hard for girl next door cute.

Although belting out notes to rival Solar doesn't have to be rivalling her notes. She could just be loud af in a lower note.

These girls terrify me. IS is a time capsule of their progression and they've come on so far in under 2 years, I can't even begin to imagine what they'll be like when they reach five/six years of beig a group. And I think Moonbyul just killed any worries I had about her resting on her laurels. Those raps were fire.

Mamamoo's construction is astounding. Lyrical references, choreography references, muscial references to their old songs. RBW have done a stellar job crafting each song for them and I am blown away every time. They manage this natural progression of image and style while dropping references galore and it's beyond great. RBW may actually be among the top management in kpop nowadays in terms of quality.

Wheein though. That expression change has me dead.
