What I find really interesting about Lui Frontic is how little Kenta Matsukuma's departure changed the group's sound. I always had a theory that Pour Lui had input on BiS's music even when it was composed by others, and it seems like this was actually the case after all

so weird to think that it wasn't that long ago that the commonly-accepted wisdom was that idols should be plain-looking with average or below-average figures...

I actually do like quite a few things about Vice (they've published work from a good number of my friends in the journalistic field, and every once in a while you get some absolutely brilliant writing like Yasha Levine's dispatches from Victorville), but the AKB story highlights one of their most shocking shortcomings - the fact that, apparently, they don't believe in fact-checking. While it's understandable that fact-checking sometimes has to get shortchanged in the name of getting things published in a timely fashion, it's disgraceful that they don't feel the need to see how things actually check out when they're writing the kind of attacks that the Adelstein article was full of. The one defense I can see the writers having for their work is that they don't actually say anything directly, but that's no real excuse either - if insinuations based on potentially unfounded rumours are the best a writer has, better for them not to say anything at all.
